Alex Collier was having the best day of his life. He had just closed a big deal for ,"Harper and Finch the ad agency that he had worked at for the past 16 years. This past year he had just turned 37 and was in the best health of his life. It was Christmas Eve and the time on the clock read 10:05 a.m. In 55 minutes would be the Christmas Party and then he would run some errand and go home to meet his longtime girlfriend Jen who was coming home from a fashion show in Dallas.

As he looked out of his office window over the Manhattan skyline he noticed that it had began to snow. The weather forecast was for big snowstorm to hit the East Coast with anywhere from 10 to 16 inches of snow. Everyone was advised to stock up on things for the holiday weekend.

At the office party it was like all in the past ones to many drinks flowing from the bar and an overstuffed buffet table. He decided he would have a glass of champange and few crackers with a Brie spread. When his watch read 12p.m. the office was offically closed and the Christmas holiday had started.

He wished all his staff a Merry Chritmas and made a quick exit to the parking garage. As he pulled his silver Jag out into the main body of traffic he noticed that the snow was now heavier. That was allright he thought Jen was coming in on an early flight. As he looked at his bald head he remembered her telling him he looked a little like," Bruce Willis. " Jen had really liked the look and thought it was sexy.

Alex had a few errands to run and then it was home to bed with Jen. Tonight he was going to get laid and might even have a surprise for her. His first stop would be to Super Target to pick up groceries and other items. Actually most of the stuff he needed was right there. The list was of the following items: apples , bananas, a large cucumber, starwberries and Godiva choclate sacue,tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, pasta noodles, cereal, potato chips, pretzels, bagels, smoked salmon, cream cheese, cookies a case of bottled water and beer, a bottle of red wine, baked beans ,pinto beans, and canned corn. This was the grocery list now he needed the other items.

He also picked up a new fluffy seafoam colored blanket, black plastic trash bags, sandwich bags,plastic cups,spoons and forks,a couple of large navy blue fluffy towels, candles, matches, 12 roses for Jen,a small cooler, two lg bags of ice, a box super maxi pads for jen, some tooth brushes and toothpaste; a spool of red velvet ribbon. By the time the cashier finished ringing up everything he owed $ 222.75.

It looked down at his watch it read 1:55pm. He had one more stop to make and then his holiday could offically start in Jen's arms. He fought more traffic downtown and quickly found a meter right in front of the store. He quickly picked the item they were holding for him and he was on his way once more. Soon he was turning his Jag into his high rise apartment building. He was able to find a close place near the service elevator.

Alex got the complimentary push cart and loaded up his groceries on it. He pushed the up button on the concrete panel. When the door's opened he pushed in the cart, he noticed that he was not alone. Standing in the corner was attractive young woman in blue velvety evening gown with a fur shaw on her shoulders. Her hair was in a bun with a silver barret in it. Alex figured she was headed for a Christmas Party.

She asked him what floor and he told her 15. She told him that she lived on 16. He noticed there was a large green straight back chair in front of her. All Alex wanted was to get off the elevator and into Jen's arms. He decided to check his phone for messages. The screen read one was incoming, and it was from Jen. The message read" Sorry babe got snowed in at O'Hare will get there as soon as I can love Jen. I can't wait to be your Christmas gift."

Great thought Alex this really put the damper on the start of the holiday. He did not realize he was talking aloud. " I was going to get laid tonight and spend most of this Holiday in bed. Now everything is ruined. His happy go lucky feeling had left the building. He slammed the phone back in his front pocket. He noticed that elevator was making a grinding noise and then came to a very abrupt stop. It jerked the car so hard it psuhed the two strangers towards one another. Faith had spent all day morning for the big Christmas Party that was being thrown at Century Publishing, where her boyfriend, Jack worked as one of the associate editors. Faith had been searching for a couple weeks to find the perfect dress for the party and when she saw that, the price didn’t matter. She parked the car and went inside and had thought Jack had told her to meet him at the entrance but he was not there.

A receptionist told her the party was on the 5th floor and to just go on up, which she did. As soon as she got off the elevator she saw tons of people, dressed up, laughing drinking, eating. She looked all around for Jack and it took her quite awhile to find him. When she did finally see him, she couldn’t believe what she saw. He was standing there with his arm around a woman and to her surprise they were getting on pretty well. He even pulled this woman under the mistletoe and kissed her. It wasn’t just know ordinary kiss either.

Faith was not only hurt, but livid not understanding how he could make such a fool out of her. When Jack finally turned around, Faith was walking up to him. Before she could say anything, he quickly said, “Faith, this is my wife, Crystal, Crystal this is Faith, one of our junior associates.”

She quickly changed her mind on this and just drove back home.

She was in the elevator to go up to her apartment when a man pushed a cart of groceries into the elevator then got in himself. She was going to the 16th floor and he needed th 15th.

As they were on their way up, the elevator jerked and suddenly stopped where she found herself in this strange mans arms. She looked straight into his brown eyes, what beautiful eyes she thought.

" Alex said it was nice to meet her to." He pulled out his phone and tried to get a signal but there was none. The wall around the elevator were 4 ft thick of concrete. Great no signal he thought! Alex explained to Faith about his big plans and even the ring in his pocket.

“I was at a Christmas Party, for about 15 minutes. I think we can have a quaint romantic meal with what we have here. When she had accepted his invitation he felt something inside of her maybe it was that sparkle in her eyes or maybe it just was that he wanted to kiss her. He was not thinking of just any kiss but long passionate sensual kiss.

Alex placed the other items on the makeshift table. He used a plastic cup with whole punches in the bottom for a candle holder. He palced the red candle in the middle of the table. Alex felt the ring box in his pocket and asked himself, Maybe I am making mistake?" Maybe I should not be asking Jen to marry me?" You know Faith when I look at you I see a beautiful painting where the colors explode on the canvas sensually.
