Caitlin paced back and forth along the sidewalk outside the theater. It was obvious she did not belong. What would her mother think if she knew her little girl was on the "wrong side of the tracks" at nearly 12:30am?
Though having recently turned 19, Caitlin still felt like a "little girl" quite often. She had a sheltered life growing up. She was surrounded by nannies, chauffeurs, maids, a buttler, and various other servants. She had never worked a day in her life.
So, why was she at 16th and Borman Ave. pacing in front of a theater at this hour? She longed for something. Something she had never been exposed to as a child and young adult. Something she had almost felt was missing from her. She needed to feel excitement...and danger.
She was so temped to turn around and just go back home, but something inside her stopped her. She had been the "good girl" all her life. This was her change to be "bad", to go against the wishes of Mommy and Daddy. She had her phony I.D. that stated she was 21, and she thought she appeared older in her attire, so she was all ready to go. If only she could make her feet move now.
Butterflies started to flutter in her stomache as she made her way to the box office. "O...one," she said, pointing to a poster hanging to the right of the man's head in the ticket booth.
"Are you sure?" he asked her.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" Caitlin asked back. She thought for sure she'd be sent home and not allowed into the theater. This was her first time even near an adult theater and she was certain her inexperience was showing through.
"Well, just to warn you, Miss, it is a bit...graphic," the guy said.
"Well, I'm a big grl," Caitlin said sarcastically. "I can handle myself."
With that, the guy punched up her ticket and took her money. He smiled at her innocence. She would certainly grow up tonight!
