He'd been resenting his wife Lynn for the way she'd been seemingly purposely dressing a little sexier just a little bit more each time they were going out to a corporate party through his work and simple social parties (then again with Lynn, nothing was ever simple).
No one to turn to - after all, what kind of husband has a wife with a body like Lynn (the subject of many "real or natural" comments made at parties, especially the later the night went and the more booze consumed by the usual subject discussors). It wasn't so much he didn't like how she looked, but more like she seemed to be dressing skimpier ever since the argument they had a few weeks back about another dress she wore to another party.
And now, at the last party, the mixture of another heated argument of how revealing the dress was, her red cocktail dress that shimmered and sparkled, keeping her the constant center of attention, her drinking too much but unaware of it, the persistence of Mark and Robert, the very strong possibility of coke, and then the moments when she and Mark and Robert weren't seen for maybe 15 mins.
There were also the photos taken during the party, how Mark used her drunken flirtiness to practically dry hump her while Robert took the pics taking pics of her, capturing how the flirting escalated.
