- In the north, there is a vast enchanted forest that borders the treacherous Illistine Mountains that separate the Frozen Wastelands from the rest of the continent. It is vast, spanning hundreds of miles, providing the border to the Mountains. If one seeks the Frozen Wastelands, he must travel through the wood.
The forest is the home of many different types of beings, and it is magical in its own right. Unless the forest knows the traveler or the traveler has been shown the right path, he will wonder endlessly, trapped for the rest of his existence. Considering not everything in the beautiful woods is friendly, that existence might prove to be short.
Deep within the comforts and protections of the woods, several miles south of the Illistine Mountains rests a huge, black tower. It stands above many of the trees that are hundreds of years older than it. There is not a single window upon it, giving no one a peek to the inside. There is but a single door at the very base. It has no handle, no standard lock. It is merely a heavy, solid wooden door painted the same color as the rest of the tower. It will let it only those the Tower desires.
Upon entering the Tower, immediately to the right is a spiral staircase that leads up to the many floors of the building. To the left is a closet for shoes and coats or cloaks. Straight forward is a hallway. With a little advancement down it, to the right is an open door way that leads to a large living room. The furniture is plush, filled with couches and chairs all neatly arranged around the room. Along the side wall is a vast marble fireplace. There are couches and chairs arranged in a semi-circle around it. A table for beverages and other things sits on a crimson rug in the center. The entire room is done in deep crimson tones and black trimmed with silver. While it spoke of luxury, it also had the appeal of home.
Also on that floor is the kitchen and the dining room. Each is as meticulously and finely furnished as the living room. In fact, every room in the tower has that same feel of homey luxury. Any food that one could desire could be found in the kitchen and the dining room could suit as many people as desired.
The entire second floor of the tower is a library. Filled with books spanning every interest and path of knowledge available, one could get lost for days in its halls. In the center of the library was a sitting area, not too unlike the living room on the base level. There is a fireplace for warmth and beauty, chairs, couches and tables for study and enjoyment.
The third floor contains a fitness center complete with a full track and weight lifting room. It also has locker rooms, sauna and massage tables. The fourth floor and above are all guest rooms. Each room has its own bathroom, living room and bedroom. Every closet is filled with spare clothing that could fit any person. At least one outfit for every size person, in case a guest wasn't able to bring their own. Each room also has several magical windows. They are simply empty wooden frames on the wall, but when one stands in front of them, a view to the outside forest is given. Once the guest looks away, the image vanishes.
The very top floor of the tower belongs to The Dreamer. What is inside it, only those she invites in know. At the very top of the spiral stairs is a set of double wooden doors, much like the door of the entrance to the Tower. There are no handles, no locks. The doors let in only those the Dreamer desires.
Outside the Tower, through the woods about a half a mile east, is a large lake. A waterfall spills out into it on the western side and the lake empties into a small stream on the eastern side. It sits in a clearing in the woods.
The Dreamer has sent out the map giving the way through the Forest to the Tower to those she wants, as well as one of the only ways through the front door. If she did not send you such a package, you are welcome to try and find your way through the woods. But be warned, trouble may find you before she does. -
