This angry, entitled reaction to the codification of DACA is off-putting to American Citizens and ultimately counter-productive.
Even the title of the act implies that these people are on shaky ground. Action is deferred. Sooner or later their situation has to be addressed.
Instead of lashing out angrily, I would think they would be happy that their situation is going to be resolved in accordance with the laws of our country.
If they have a beef, it's with the previous administration for leaving them in limbo.
If they want to be true Americans, they have to believe in our laws which ultimately protect THEM.
This angry acting- out makes me question their loyalty.

If you had been born to illegal immigrant parents, you would have been protesting with them.

Setting aside some of their impetuous reaction, I want them taken care of. I don't want them deported. I understand their situation. But some of them are acting like assholes and I think it's counter-productive. If they want to be true Americans, they have to respect the rule of law.

But true Americans include assholes too. :)

All TRUE Americans respect the rule of law.

"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country". - JFK

AMERICANS remember and honor this, not this crying, whining 'I'm entitled' bullshit!

As a matter of fact lots of dreamers are in the military. If the US government accepts them to serve on behalf of the COUNTRY they have a fucking right to protest.

One of them died in Houston helping Harvey victims.

They have to willingly register and hand all their private info to the Gov't and they were told it would not be used against them.

You cannot maintain your status or become a Dreamer if you commit a crime.

They've done EVERYTHING right, only to be told Go Away. They have a right to protest.

75% of the US is on their side.

Trump is acting like an asshole.

I don't think there's a chance in hell that you can speak for the majority of "American Citizens." I think that most "American Citizens" aren't giving the issue much thought at all (a good many of them are boarding up their houses in Florida or taking the boards off their houses in what's left of Texas). Of those who are keeping track of the issue, I think it's much more likely that most are sorry that young folks who registered for the program and have known no where other than the United States are getting jerked around this way just to please a small group of crazies like you.

All TRUE Americans respect the rule of law.
While they're speeding and running stops, ingesting unsanctioned chemicals, cheating on taxes (and their mates), gambling illicitly, shoplifting, letting their dogs run loose, exceeding noise limits, and abusing the weak (like their kids and mates).

Yup, rule of law means a lot here. That's why we have all those prisons.

or Wall Street bankers laundering cartel money and being sanctioned with a fine.

This attack on "immigrants" is the one thing that's going to make me join Antifa.

Seriously? You're going to associate with those annoying assholes? You don't have anything in common with them. You have a job, right?

This reminds me of the lyrics from "Refugee" (funnily enough). "You believe what you wanna believe". You're biased. I'm on the dreamers side. lets get a law to give them a path to citizenship. I would hope the dreamers would realize they have a lot of goodwill, and I hope they don't do anything to jeopardize that. The truth is they are illegal. If they decide to throw them out (relax, they won't) what could they do about it? They're in limbo. That's what "Deferred" means. They should be pissed at Barry for being such a cuck.

They aren't illegal. They just aren't fully documented. They are, however, documented and enrolled in a status program that made their presence in the United States legal.

Ask a couple--they aren't pissed at Obama. He did what he could be them while he could do it. They're pissed at doctrinaire Trump supporters like you.

Talk about bias. I don't see you being realistic in the least about Trump or the Republicans. So, you can take your "biased" and put it where the sun don't shine. Elsewhere on this board, I've posted that I agreed with kicking it back to Congress for proper legislation--and that congressional leaders should take it in the neck if they don't clean up the mess they've been avoided--and that, if they do come up with the legislation needed to keep the DACA-category people here and Congress doesn't pass it, those who voted against it should take it in the neck. I can pretty much guarantee that if the legislation is proper on giving sensible status to the DACA people, it won't be the Democrats in Congress who are blocking it.

Trump's the one who ran on kicking them out of the country immediately, hot shot. Acknowledge that.

So that fact that the government is deciding to enforce the law makes you want to join a terrorist group? That seems strange.

The current DACA program WAS the law until yesterday. It hadn't been challenged as such as the current law.

I think it's about time again to do a sweep through the businesses of Trump and his appointees for actual illegal immigrants in their employ. I drive by Trump's winery occasionally. A document check on those he has working in the grape fields would be interesting, I think. There are more workers out there than I see at other wineries in the area and, although his son applied for permission to bring in foreign seasonal workers this harvest season, that permit wasn't given. Wonder where those workers came from and what sort of documentation they hold. Wonder about the documentation of workers he's had building his buildings. Wonder what the upshot was on whether Melanie was legally working here as an immigrant as a nudie "model."

Trumps order is a gift to Dreamers, even if they refuse to see it that way and the media refuses to cover it that way. President Obama's DACA was never intended to be permanent and even he knew that is was on shaky ground. But, because he had some "something" all political pressure was off the democrats to do anything else. Even back when the democrats controlled both houses and the Presidency, they didn't give amnesty or any path to citizenship. They didn't need to. The plight of these people, who are here illegally, is always at the mercy of political whims. But many states were about to sue Trump to repeal DACA. They would have won, and the Dreamers would have instantly been subject to deportation. So Trump does this, repeals it but with a 6 month grace period. Now Congress HAS to do something because most Americans don't want to see these folks deported. Now the Dreamers will have a step up in status, possibly a path to citizenship, that they NEVER would have had under DACA. Instead of condemning Trump, they should be praising him. Despite all the rhetoric, I don't think Trump personally wants to see these people deported either.

Trump wanted to repeal Obamacare immediately and replace it later. Congress would have none of that, and Trump couldn't do it on his own. But Trump could repeal DACA without replacing it, so he did.

So, I take it, milehighcityman, that you've gotten tired of the last in the series of your white supremacist, Trump Dupe/Dope alts and are opening up a new one to leave the impression that we have more than a couple of despicable political trolls posting to this erotica story Web site discussion board(?)
