Science is now looking to nature, however, to find the best way to store data in a way that will make it last for millions of years.

Researchers at ETH Zurich, in Switzerland, believe the answer may lie in the data storage system that exists in every living cell: DNA.

So compact and complex are its strands that just 1 gram of DNA is theoretically capable of containing all the data of internet giants such as Google and Facebook, with room to spare.

In data storage terms, that gram would be capable of holding 455 exabytes, where one exabyte is equivalent to a billion gigabytes.​

Girls who are tomboys grow up to have more lovers whether they are straight or gay, a study has found.

For it seems the genes that make women more masculine may also make them more promiscuous, researchers say.

The finding helps explain why homosexuality doesn’t die out, even though lesbian couples are not able to naturally have children carrying the genes of each partner.

This is because straight tomboys have more lovers than others – and so the ‘tomboy DNA’ stays in circulation, according to the study carried out by a team from King’s College London.​

I'm not so sure that this isn't Nurture over nature. It could be they're more comfortable with boys, and know stuff about what boys know, and are content to hang around with and talk to boys.


There were two ginger sisters in my elementary school. They went to a different junior and high school, but rumor had it that their drawers fell off not long after the done grad-gee-ated sixth grade.
