The difference between Edward Snowden and Bradley Manning is?

The difference between Edward Snowden and Bradley Manning is? Bueller?

Snowden is in Hong Kong, He's free to report.

Manning is in the brig.
Manning asked why are we killing people in the street, for no reason?

Snowden revealed a dubious practice. He will be tracked down and dealt with!

Manning revealed wholesale slaughter of the innocent, He had the means to dump 40K documents exposing what America really thought about the world. His 'crime' is more easily justified IMHO.

There is no evidence that his leak added AQ in any way. There is no evidence that the world was shocked by what was reviled, anyone who gave a shit, already knew the USG was full of shit.

The video I Am Bradley Manning features big-names including actors Maggie Gyllenhaal, Russell Brand and Peter Sarsgaard; filmmaker Oliver Stone; musicians Tom Morello and Moby; journalists Chris Hedges, Phil Donahue and Matt Taibbi; and author Alice Walker among others, carrying signs to declare they, too, are Bradley Manning. Pentagon Papers whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg tells the camera, “I was Bradley Manning.” The video’s participants call the “aiding the enemy” charge absurd.

The dialogue opens with the question, “When you join the military are you asked to keep any war crimes you might see secret?”
The video proceeds to pose important points that pertain to Manning’s case, including facts like:

The cables Manning released were not “top secret” documents.

The whole concept of the whistleblower protection laws in place is that you cannot get in trouble for reporting illegal or improper activity.

Manning exposed real war crimes.

The most stark example of war crimes Manning exposed is the video from Iraq titled Collateral Murder. (None of the people associated with the murder of unarmed civilians and journalists, as shown in Collateral Murder, have been arrested or tried for their crimes.

)

Bradley has Russell Brand and Moby's support, and you know how the military respects such great minds. So Brad will go free

Funny, I expected hordes of RWCJ types coming in to call Snowden a traitor a la Manning. I wonder why they didn't?

giime the three paragraph, primary school version of what this is about.

giime the three paragraph, primary school version of what this is about.

Snowden is the bloke that broke the NSA spying on millions of Yank phone records story. Manning released a load of embarrassing emails from US diplomats to Wikileaks. Manning has been universally condemned by the RWCJ as a traitor and has spent the last three years in solitary before his trial.

giime the three paragraph, primary school version of what this is about.

Manning leaked secret documents to Julian Assange and Snowden released the recent NSA documents to the Guardian Newspaper. Snowden actually sold them to the paper.

Manning is a US Marine. Snowden is a NSA subcontractor.

They both signed clearance agreements and doing what they did is hugely illegal and traitor-ish.

Not traitor-ish. Traitor-Esque.

was what they released in the public interest? did it put american lives at risk? did it expose criminal acts?

In Manning's case, yes, no, yes. In Snowdon's yes, no, maybe.

hang them both.

I just find it interesting that the RWCJ have been screaming for Manning to get the death penalty while Snowden's revelations have been used as a stick to beat Obama.

the nice thing about being a brit is knowing all politicians are lying, self serving, back stabbing shitstains, regardless of what side they're on. i don't have to go to all the effort of having two sets or moral expectation, to apply dependant on whether the subject is a socialist or a wingnut.
