Manning revealed wholesale slaughter of the innocent, He had the means to dump 40K documents exposing what America really thought about the world. His 'crime' is more easily justified IMHO.

The whole concept of the whistleblower protection laws in place is that you cannot get in trouble for reporting illegal or improper activity.

The most stark example of war crimes Manning exposed is the video from Iraq titled Collateral Murder. (None of the people associated with the murder of unarmed civilians and journalists, as shown in Collateral Murder, have been arrested or tried for their crimes.

Snowden is the bloke that broke the NSA spying on millions of Yank phone records story. Manning released a load of embarrassing emails from US diplomats to Wikileaks. Manning has been universally condemned by the RWCJ as a traitor and has spent the last three years in solitary before his trial.

Manning leaked secret documents to Julian Assange and Snowden released the recent NSA documents to the Guardian Newspaper. Snowden actually sold them to the paper.

Manning is a US Marine. Snowden is a NSA subcontractor.

They both signed clearance agreements and doing what they did is hugely illegal and traitor-ish.

I just find it interesting that the RWCJ have been screaming for Manning to get the death penalty while Snowden's revelations have been used as a stick to beat Obama.
