Musk and the other fella have already ensured substantial reductions. I am guessing that the various Statutory authorities and Departments have attrition rates normally beween 10% and 20% per annum. Not too many folk will apply for those positions.

Some entities, the IRS for example are already very short of staff. That could easily be fixed if the tax breaks given to the wealthy in Trumps former administration were spent by taking the 35 million poorest taxpayers out of the system altogether. But that ain't gunna happen.
