I don't see what was wrong with what Penn or Trump said. Perhaps I'm not a giant weeping vagina, so I don't get offended over every little thing that's said. Both of those people mentioned have said far more ridiculous things than the above quote.

But I think it's funny that these award show people think they are so important. They use their acceptance speeches as time to promote their political agendas. I just want to remind them, they are actors. If their occupation disappeared tomorrow, the earth would move on just as it is. They don't have important jobs. Their jobs pay them incredibly well and they are incredibly blessed to be able to do something like that for a living. Most of them work very hard to achieve such success. But at the end of it, they just play dress up for a living and they think they are the most important people on earth.

I agree their voices are often heard, loud and clear because of money and platform.

However, it's my personal opinion that if their jobs disappeared, the earth would suffer no real loss. Try that with doctors, educators, engineers. Hell, even lawyers.

They certainly hold a load of influence. There is no doubt about that. But if the occupation of acting went away, the earth would suffer no real loss.

And with that said, I fucking love TV. So I'm not minimizing their talent. I would say the same thing about musicians and I love music more than anything.
