As seen the the nicely done Day After Tomorrow *golf clap* there's been a bit of a ecological boo boo and now the world has shifted dramatically in every possiable way. In the U.S., which is where the story line is based, everything above the Mexican boarder is basically ice bound or suffering from a series of natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes and the ever popular "Someone forgot to turn off the Nuclear reactor before the ice storm hit so it blew up."

http://i.imdb.com/Photos/Ss/0319262/th-adArtnotxt1.jpg

Mexico itself hasn't faired to well, earthquakes along the fault lines have pretty much leveled Mexcio City and the surrounding environs creating even more tent cities, health problems, and unrest. The Mexcian govenment and the U.S. government are at an uneasy truce and it seems likely that there will be some sort of action, possiably military, to join the two into one government under mostly U.S. leadership. Large corporations are spilt on this, and have their own agenda.

But, with chaos comes opportunity, and while most people are scrabbling to survive some are out looting the Home of the Free, and of course being shot for it when caught.

However a few people have obtained a covented "Salvage License", stamped by both governments, which allows the license holder to accept contracts to "reaquire" items of national, corporate, government or personal intrest for a finders fee. If, by chance, some other items are recovered as well then there is a hefty black market for them.

Susan "Mama" Brody has such a licence and the cold weather gear to go with it into the north and recover medical supplies needed in the south from a drug warehouse in Texas. But Mama thinks that bone has probably already been picked clean and has two other alternative sites for the needed supplies.

Well, I'd thought I'd start small with just Mama's group but then expand into the world as power struggles ensue...maybe head into world domination...

So your typical "can do" types, heros and almost heros and merc's. Think the cast of Firefly, or Day after Tomorrow, or the Postman.

Really, the feild is open for character development.

Mama, for example, was a chopper pilot in the Coast Guard in Alaska, gave it up to be wife and mother. When her young son died the marriage kinda went down the tubes as well and when the Event happened she was flying tourist choppers over the Grand Canyon. Tapped for reflief flights she ferried chopper loads of folks south before being grounded, which earned her points towards getting the S.L. She's a tad bit bitter, disillusioned, but at her core she still hopes that things will right themselves if enough hard work is applied.

Alright. If I can create a character that will fit, I will post later with the description.

YAY *claps hands* I've actually wanted to play something like this for a long time!

Thanks!
:cathappy:

Tons, both IRL, online on boards like these, and online gaming like Guildwars, Secondlife etc.

I had hoped to build some cred here by joining a thread frist, but the one PM I sent wasn't responded to and the other two that seemed to have openings I knew nothing about, really....so dove in feet frist!

But I do have experince with "Turn based interactive online story telling". :)

And while my spelling isn't always on the mark, I have pretty good grammar 96% of the time.

The problem that I am most worried about and it happens a lot, is when the person starting the thread doesn't lead the story when it needs some direction. But since you have done this before and I like the idea of the thread, I'm game.

My spelling isn't always perfect either, just as long as you are ledgable that is fine.

Cool beans..now, who else can I lure? Any suggestions? :D

Am open to begging...

Or, I can give it twenty four for folks to notice me. lol.

Considering what site we are on, you could always offer lap dances. ;)

Raises hand

G'day Miz

I enjoyed the movie very much and have it in my movie collection. I have been waiting for a chance to be able to RP within this environ. Count me in if its okay by you. And welcome to the forums. I have been away for a long while. Now I am back (hopefully for good), fingers crossed.
I would like to play a Australian character and will wait for a part to come up. LOL, what can I say I am damn proud to play the same as I am. I have previously been the GM of my own threads in SRP. Check my writing style out. If you think I won't gell okay with your ideas, that's cool. If I will, well I can post a bio of my character next time with a complete specs and background.
Again welcome to the world of Literotica RP and don't worry my spelling is up buggery creek at times as well
:)

So, we have Mama, Chopper pilot and boss lady, a un-named and unknown element in Ithcia, and a wandering Aussie...

I'm so happy I could just shimmy!

I hope to get two more folks, *crosses fingers*, and then I'll post the opening scene, sound good?

Looking forward to your bios! (if you can get a pic that'd be fab, I think RP goes better with some images, but no worries if you can't) And I promise to spell check my posts in the main thread. Your on your own in the OCC tho *grins implishy*

Mama Brody, age 37, birthplace Anchorage, AK. 5'7", strawberry blonde hair, faded blue eyes, build athletic. Mama Brody served with the Coast Guard for four years as a chopper pilot until she married Dave Brody and had her son, Seth. Seth drowned at age three while under the care of Dave and the family never recovered. Divorced she moved south and got a series of jobs until landing a sightseeing pilot gig flying over the Grand Canyon. Co-opted into the massive exodus into Mexico for hospital patients. After the Event, Mama kept Baby.

Baby
The MH-60 Pave Hawk helicopter a twin-engine, medium lift, utility, and assault helicopter used by the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard as well as by many militaries worldwide. The Army's UH-60L Black Hawk can carry 11 soldiers or 2,600 pounds (1,170 kg) of cargo or sling load 9,000 pounds (4,050 kg) of cargo.*

The pic may not be EXACTLY the same model, but ya get the idea. :D

OOC; Casting Call The Day After

Still open to players? Sorry I didn't respond earlier, was waiting for development on another thread. Didn't happen. Would like to try here!

Please advise. If you are going to continue, I will post bio and background.

Macmillian... :)

I'm sorry Mac, I guess I haven't been here long enough for folks to say "Oh, that person is a good RPer and can keep a thread going" or whatever they secretly think when they look at something, so, it didn't fly.

I'm very sad.

I may cry.

Or try again when I have more postpoints under my belt.
