The DaVinci Inquision

Please go on, about the the film :D

Not sure what else to say...there isn't a lot of character development. One of my co-workers asked "how was the acting?". I said there's no time for acting--there's too much stuff going on. It ain't Shakespeare! :)

Haven't seen the movie, and I'll probably wait for DVD, if I even see it then. I can't really get into the idea of Tom Hanks in the lead role, though.

The controversy around the book/movie is amusing to me. Christiantity didn't come tumbling down after The Last Temptation of Christ; Da Vinci Code certainly isn't going to accomplish that either.

Those who have faith in their church's teachings, whatever they may be, will not be swayed by an alternate presentation of what might have happened back then or the role of the Church in editing the 'record'. Those who already believe the Bible is fiction, will just file this away as more fiction like all the other books and movies that explore Bible themes or Greek and Roman mythology or Egyptian gods and goddesses...curiousity and maybe entertainment.

Since there's nothing in the Bible that covers Jesus life, I'd say it's fair game for the imagination.

i've heard the movie is far less exciting than the book (assuming one found the book exciting). apparently too, there is some kind of affirmation of faith worked into the ending.

trust hollywood to pull its punches. there have been efforts at a Sony website to engage the Christians in respectful debate. the more clever churches use the movie as occasion to evangelize, instead of trying to dictate that people avoid seeing it.

I have seen it last week when it came out. Well ... it stays pretty true to the book, which has the effect that you know exactly whats coming and there is no surprise or suspense. Being a film, it can't get into detail like a book can and that shows.

I liked the book, Dan Brown writes in a way, that you can't tell where fact ends and fiction begins.

The movie was just your typical Hollywood Blockbuster ... And I don't have the slightest idea how christian organisations can be so upset about a Hollywood movie. How in the world could anyone take the story of that film for actual fact is beyond me ... so why do they worry?

In the end its an OK movie, good soundtrack and you don't think you just threw away your money. Which is ok by me :).
