I hope this will get people smiling again

Looking back...on the memory of
The Dance we shared beneath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known, that you'd ever say good-bye

And now, glad I didn't know
The way it all would end
The way it all would go
Our lives, are better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss The Dance

Holding you, I'd held everything
For a mement, wasn't I the King
But if I'd only known
How the key would fall
It goes to say, I might have changed it all

Repeat Chorus

Yes, my life
It's better left to chance
But I'd of had to miss The Dance

Actually, this song is very sad to me. It brings back some very painful memories. Always makes me cry when I actually hear it.

Painful for some, happy for others. I have to say, I don't cry when i hear this song, but it DOES send shivers down my spine.

Ditto to what Tiggs said...........though it does bring back some good memories also.........

I think that's actually the irony of the song. I think that it's VERY inspirational

I Like this one as well
Serves as a reminder that we will be reunited with our loved ones again if not in this life then the next.

When You Come Back To Me Again
Written by: Garth Brooks, Jenny Yates

There's a ship out, on the ocean
At the mercy of the sea
It's been tossed about, lost and broken
Wandering aimlessly
And God somehow you know that ship is me

'Cause there's a lighthouse, in the harbor
Shining faithfully
Pouring its light out, across the water
For this sinking soul to see
That someone out there still believes in me

On a prayer, in a song
I hear your voice and it keeps me hanging on
Raining down, against the wind
I'm reaching out 'til we reach the circle's end
When you come back to me again

There's a moment we all come to
In our own time and our own space
Where all that we've done, we can undo
If our heart's in the right place

On a prayer, in a song
I hear your voice and it keeps me hanging on
Raining down, against the wind
I'm reaching out 'til we reach the circle's end
When you come back to me again
And again I see my yesterday's in front of me
Unfolding like a mystery
You're changing all that is and used to be

On a prayer, in a song
I hear your voice and it keeps me hanging on
Raining down, against the wind
I'm reaching out 'til we reach the circle's end
When you come back to me again

When you come back to me again

I just LOVE Garth. WHOEVER writes for him does a FANTASTIC job.

Thanx

Thanx for the reminder. Haven't heard that in quite awhile. One other (I don't have the words) that really applies here is "Standing Outside the Fire".The vid was great, but only because the song says so much.

America will stand together (sic). As Patrick Henry (?) said, "We must all hang together, or will will surely hang separately."
:)

Nevertheless.....

Standing Outside The Fire
Written by: Garth Brooks, Jenny Yates
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We call them cool
Those hearts that have no scars to show
The ones that never do let go
And risk the tables being turned

We call them fools
Who have to dance within the flame
Who chance the sorrow and the shame
That always comes with getting burned

But you've got to be tough when consumed by desire
'Cause it's not enough just to stand outside the fire

We call them strong
Those who can face this world alone
Who seem to get by on their own
Those who will never take the fall

We call them weak
Who are unable to resist
The slightest chance love might exist
And for that forsake it all

They're so hell-bent on giving ,walking a wire
Convinced it's not living if you stand outside the fire

Standing outside the fire
Standing outside the fire
Life is not tried, it is merely survived
If you're standing outside the fire

There's this love that is burning
Deep in my soul
Constantly yearning to get out of control
Wanting to fly higher and higher
I can't abide
Standing outside the fire

Standing outside the fire
Standing outside the fire
Life is not tried, it is merely survived
If you're standing outside the fire

Standing outside the fire
Standing outside the fire
Life is not tried, it is merely survived
If you're standing outside the fire

Thanks

LOVE THAT VIDEO. If, not only, for the fact that it's about a disabled person overcoming the odds.

Thanx

Thanx, YoungGun69

Just reading those words brings memories of others who have striven to overcome terrible odds. America did it in WWII and that spirit, while sometimes dormant, is alive today.:)

Wow, Garth even makes it onto these boards. I love his music. All the songs listed are very touching and inspirational. It's very difficult for me to choose favorites, LOL.

Garth was actually in NYC last Tuesday. He was also going to be heading to Washington that night, but obviously, all plans were cancelled.

Music can be very healing at a time like this, at least it is for me.
