The object of disaffection is Fox News Channel and a mere handful of Moderators that question the wisdom of the direction the Obama administration is taking on several issues.

In the news all summer, the Healthcare issue, Congressional Legislation kept under wraps, cost estimates that no one can understand, unspoken and unaddressed consequences of Federal intervention in the Health care industry.

Fox news channel, with public ratings above that of CNN and MSNBC, has now been sent to a ‘sub forum’, ignored by the White House which also expresses renewed interest in the ‘Fairness Doctrine’ as a means of limiting and controlling right wing radio and television outlets that challenge the thinking and programs of those in power.

Citizen unrest, as exemplified by Tea Parties rallies and Town Hall meetings, challenging the entire range of, “Yes We Can!”, change America, have been and are being described by the White House as miscreants, trouble makers full of misinformation and false information, even, ‘outright lies.’

Cap & Trade, a ‘Kyoto Treaty’ like, control and tax scheme to cripple American business and industry and attack the boogey man of Global Warming, discussed openly on Fox forums, with both sides being represented, is declared by the White House to be almost un American that anyone even dare criticize the faith of those who believe man is destroying the Earth.

Questioning the ‘bail outs’, the Nationalization of the Auto Industry, the failure of Federal Institutions, Freddie & Fanny to follow standard lending practices; has led Fox News to be under attack from all quarters.

The White House refuses to include Fox News in regular appearances granted all the other new outlets and has declared Fox an ‘enemy’ of all that is ‘right’, and is seeking means to control the news and discussion of current issues of contention.

Those self-same issues are the core of contention here on the AH, and the same ‘control’ faction which believes these issues are, ‘settled law’, and will not brook any disagreement, are attempting the same White House double-speak to curtail and minimize opposition to the current political world view.

The White House is attempting to squelch the right to free expression in the same manner as those here on our little Forum are.

The American public may not be able to stop the tidal wave in Washington, D.C., and those who cherish free speech may not be able to forestall the efforts at censorship here at the AH; but, then again, the American public and the members of this forum may well speak and be heard.

We shall see.

It may well just be a ‘tempest in a teapot’, here on the AH, but for the Nation at large, censorship of the most watched national cable news outlet, portends dangerous threats to the very concept of First Amendment rights:

The First Amendment to the United States Constitution is part of the Bill of Rights. The amendment prohibits the Congress from making laws "respecting an establishment of religion", prohibiting the free exercise of religion, infringing on the freedom of speech and infringing on the freedom of the press. In the 20th century the Supreme Court held that the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment applies the First Amendment to each state, including any local government.

The idea that political debate has nothing to do with a ‘writer’s forum’, is pure poppycock; look at all the doom and gloom apocalyptic books and films based on the political misapprehension that technology and the Industrial Revolution is the cause of all things evil. How many books and films all portray the evil businessman as the antagonist from Charles Dickens to the present day? It is rare to find the written or spoken word that applauds the enterprise that provides our sustenance.

Even further evidence of relativity, is the fact that the entire world is involved in these fundamental opposing opinions concerning everyday life. Tune in BBC news for America, watch the foreign market exchanges, they all reflect the involvement, world wide, in the basic political issues that are discussed on this forum.

Censorship, and that is exactly what it is, is not a ‘small’ issue on the National scene or here at the AH.

Do the right thing.
