It appears, surprise, surprise, that the US has not managed to amass enough evidence to try the 500 under the military tribunal system.
So all that hysteria, all those flights with men on board, shackled and blindfolded, all those debates as to whether they were prisoners of war or not have come to nothing.
Now we have to wait and see exactly what evidence the US has, to hold them in the first place.
I wouldn't hold your breath.
UK court recently released a suspected al Qaida terrorist because the FBI's promised evidence never materialised.
Court cases pending in the US about the violation of the prisoners' human rights.
Complete silence from Bush and his team about the matter.
The whole thing has taken the turn most people expected, a one way ticket to nowhere.
Never mind Bush, maybe you can regain some credibility when you invade Iraq.
