OOC: Here we go!

IC: Ariana stood at the front of the ship watching as the docks of Tarten slowly came into view. She hated this quest hated leaving her home but it was her destiny and she had no choice. The ship docked within the hour and for the first time in her life Ariana entered the outside kingdoms.

He stood on the docks, watching as the ship pulled in. He looked down at the wolf, who returned the look. Although a guard, he was also a guide. He was one of the few people in the lands who knew about Crystalia. He had been there, once. But in the end, had returned home. And here he was, awaiting what could bring back the adventures of his youth.

No one else was on the docks, he'd cleared them out a few hours ago. He stood, watching the ship dock, and waited for the person he'd be watching over. He'd been told it would be Sage of Spirit, but beyond that, he knew nothing. And he hated knowing nothing. The wolf got up, and began to growl. "At ease, Domicus, at ease. We'll not be making a bad impression on our saviors, shall we?"

Ariana looked around then her eyes settled on a man with a wolf at his side. Knowing instinctivly he was to be her protector she headed over to him. 'HA protector, I could probably kick his ass' she thought silently as she came to a stop in front of him. The wolf growled at her, Ariana knelt down ignoring the mans warning and crooned softly to the animal holding out her hand. The wolf hesitated a moment before sniffing at her hand then as if sensing she meant no harm he began licking her hand with a fervor rubbing he head begging to be pet. Laughing softly she stood up noticing the suprised look on the mans face. "I am Ariana, Sage of Spirit. And you must be my protector. By what should I call you?"

He heard the faint, gruff voice of Domicus in the back of his head. 'Heh. She smells good Lawerence. Reminds me of that Queen of ours. Although, she seems a bit nicer than ol' Fatso.'

He couldn't help but grin. The wolf always called the Queen of Tarten the worst names, but it was true. He gave Domicus a nudge and a mental 'Shaddup.'

He gave a slight bow of the head to the woman before him. "My name is Lawerence. This," He pointed to the wolf. "Is Domicus. We are pleased to meet you, Sage Ariana. We hope to be of some help, although I'm sure you could handle yourself well enough."

He sighed, and relaxed a little, adjusting the large travel pack on his back. "As soon as you're ready, we'll be off. Did you bring anyone, or anything that needs to be gotten before we get going?"

He looked her up and down. He'd expected someone a little older. He was probably old enough to be her father. Nice lookin' little thing. His biggest job would probably be keeping the local boys from bothering her endlessly.

Ariana noticed the way his eyes checked her over and took on a haughty stance. "No there is nothing I need to get, however I will need a horse. I have money if that is neccessary" Smiling down at Dimicus she scratched behind his ear. "Shall we be off then?"

OOC; ok, meru's on the scene. if you'll take her.

He looked down at Domicus. "A horse? Of course. I've got my own down at the stables. If you'll be so kind as to follow me."

He turned, and started to walk toward the stables. It wasn't a long walk, and they were there in a matter of minutes. He gave a whistle, and a large black warhorse came out to meet him. He pulled out an apple from his pack, and gave it to the horse, who devoured it rapidly. He patted it's head, and quickly mounted the horse. "Here we are. Go in and choose one for yourself. I've prepaid."

He reached over, and pulled his braid over his right shoulder.

OOC: your welcome to join Cryo

IC: Ariana shrugged and entered the stables. She considered choosing a horse a very important task. She stoped at ever stall speaking softly with the horses when a familiar voice reached her. "I think that one is the one for you, I sense alot from her" Aneke said as she apeared on Ariana's shoulders. Nodding Ariana aproached the horse and she to felt things. Reaching out her hand she felt an immense connection between her and the young mare. Without hesitation she opened the stall and led her out. She neighed pawing at the ground. "It's all right girl, what should I call you" she thought for a moment when Aneke spoke up "Perhaps Eliah is appropriate. It does me wild one in our language" Ariana thought for a moment then nodded. "It does fit her" petting her nose Ariana smiled then lead her out into the open. Aneke slipped into her saddle bags, she did not like to be seen by outworlders which is what these people were. Ruffians all of them she Aneke thought to herself. Ariana mounted nodding to her companion "I'm ready, shall we?"

He looked at her choice, and gave a loud laugh. He looked at her. "Good choice. The stable owner's a good friend of mine. When she sees what horse you took, she's going to throw a fit. Her husband went out on the plains, and caught a few some years back. That one's sire was in the lot. Took 'em four years to figure out they couldn't break 'im."

He smiled, and nudged the horses side, and the large stallion turned and started slowly down the street. "I sent Domicus ahead to scout out the woods around town. You have any clue as to where we should be headed first?"

Lord Dark Talon

He slowly steeps off the boat Theres somthig about water he dosent like and every one knew it he sinks lick a bolder. he looked Around to see where every one was "ah the Stables "
He huirys to cetchup.

high overhead, a large bird appeared and Cawed. The bird circled a littlbe bit, than came down and landed. the two people on horces backed up a little bit.

"That's a roc. But I've never seen one that big!" said one of them.

the other said "I've never seen a roc before. I thought they were only in legends, like dragons."

Meru jumped off of the Roc, suprising the hourseriders even more. In their shock at seing the bird, they failed to notice a colorfull, shiny blue, well armored human riding it. The person took off the strange looking helmet, revieling solid blue, short but spiky hair (think gene starwind) and brilliant blue eyes. "Hi. My names Marl.....Meru. Yah, Meru. Is this the crystal kingdome I heard about?" she looked around, chearfully excited.

ariana was taken aback. "Uh, no, it isn't. How did you hear about that place though?"

Meru laughed. "Oh, i just heard about it in a bar somewhere. So I hopped on my friend Arti here, and went off to find it!"

"just like that? you heard nothing but a rumor than flew off to nowhere and expected to find it?"

"Yah. pretty much. My sisters and I tent to get lucky. Sha....uh...Sara mostly, but just because she get's the most doesn't mean I can't get some, right?" she smiled brightly again.

He'd never seen a roc so big. It was simply amazing. He just waited as Meru talked to Ariana. The horses were quite skittish, and he noticed Ariana's looked like it was ready to bolt. Just then, he noticed someone else coming upon them from the docks. He broke out in a grin, and calmed his horse with a few pats to its neck. This was getting off to a good start.

Of course, it didn't make any sense, but it was rather fun. "Excuse me, but could, Arti, if that's the roc's name, please take off again before the horses decide to run like mad, I'd be much obliged."

He turned back to Ariana. "Now, would you like to give me a clue as to where to go, and get a headstart on moving, or would you like to stay and chit-chat for a while?"

"He finly cetches up So whos that Guy" Dark tolan points to The guy with the roc

"You know, one day their gonna catch you."
Garret leapt high as he jumped from one rooftop to the next. He paused, staring at the old woman. He took a small gem outo f his bag and tossed it to her. Her eyes lit up brightly.
"It's true, but that day's far far off."
The guards ran in the streets below, looking and pointing. In a heartbeat Garret looked around, sizing up the situation. Thiswas the last building before the forest. It was a small town of Barren, right next to the beginning of a desert, a huge forest, and a great range of mountains. He stood looking at the desert, hoping whatever was left in this bag was worth it.
Two of the guards went inside, the others watching him silently.
"Don't you ever give up?" he asked.
"Not with the price on your head."
Garret laughed, "How much is it now?"
"Two thousand gold pieces."
Garret whistled, "Holy shit. I should turn myself in, I could retire."
"Not exactly, the king wants your head in his trophy room."
The top opened up as one of the guarsds stepped onto the roof. Garret smiled at him, glancing down below again.
"Can't say it hasn't been fun guys, but I've got a date tonight."
He lept onto the first rooftop, just before the guard lunged at him. Running with all he might he jumped to the far side.
It was thirty feet down with nothing but cobblestones on the ground. That and a big ass tree in the middle of the square. He clung for dear life onto a branch. Shimming his way down, Garret blended easily into the crowd.
For the next hour he stayed in the marketplace, buying, selling, trading. He got a lovely new knife, his old one was on it's last leg. A blacksmith was having a sale for today, so he got all of his weapons sharpened for a fraction of the price. He even got a beautiful brown mare for a decent price. By nightfall he left with all of this things, going into the forest. The guards knew him too well in this town, he needed to go somewhere new, somewhere nice.
But first he had to meet the old woman in the woods. Getting off the horse he came up to the old cabin in the woods. Black smoke poured into the night air. He stepped inside.
The air was thick and musty. Inside he saw only a few candles lit the way.
"Did you bring it," an old woman stepped into the light. The elf hobbled over to a table. Large jars with things Garret didn't even want to speculate about covered the table. She sat next to a large black cauldron.
"It's right here," he took the large crystal out of the bag. It was in the shape of a unicorn, "what is it? And why did you want it so badly?"
Smiling, her bony fingers reached for the crystal, "Give it."
Her voice was commanding. Garret thought she might double cross him, but he really didn't want to test her. After all, she was a thousand year old elf who had spent her entire life practicing magic. He bet she could turn him into mist before he had a chance to bargain with her.
He gave her the unicorn. She placed it in the cauldron, and her hands went to work grabbing jars and vials. A purple smoke boiled out.
"Excuse me," he raised his eyebrows, "I'll just get my fee and be on my way."
She glanced at him, as if wondering why he was still here. Something sparkled in her eye and she nodded, pointing towards the back door.
"They are all out in the shed, take them and go."
He smiled, making his way to the back.
"You know, getting this was nearly impossible, you must have destiny on your side."
Garret shook his head, "Nope, I'm just very lucky."
She shot her hand out, grabbing his. It was like a cold vise, for an old old elf she was surprisingly strong. The elf looked at his hand, admiringly.
"Yes, yes, here it is," she glanced at his palm. As she let go, Garret stepped back.
"Something even greater than I thought."
He held his hand defensively, "What?"
She turned back to the cauldron, "You'll know, all in goo\d time."
Garret nearly ran to the back shed.
There they were, a huge longbow and a quiver of arrows. They all smelled of magic, just as he had asked for. And there, right beside the quiver was a small bag. He opened it up, looking inside.
A bag of beans.
Yes, perfect.
Grabbing the stuff he quickly mounted his horse and left. A few days ride away was a nice trading town, right by a huge river.

Ariana frowned looking to everyone. First a new blue being with a roc and now a strange man in a helmet. This was getting out of hand and she had just been here for about 15 minuttes. She heard Aneke's voice in her head "See, ruffians all of them.. hmph" chuckling softly she shook her head. "Listen I don't know who you people are but I am on an important quest and have no time for idle conversation. Someone here in Tarten is awaiting my visit, though he doesn't know it yet. Come lets get on our way" with that she tugged on her reigns and headed down the path.

He shrugged. If she was going, he was going. He took one last look at the two, then the docks, and the ocean. He sighed, and nudged the horse with the heel of his boot. The stallion gave a toss of its head, and followed Ariana's horse.

He sat back, whistling. It was a merry little tune. Well, not little. It was the tune to the near hour long bard's tale of the Sages. He'd spent the better part of his preperation for this journey learning it. He thought it would be an appropriate tune to while away the hours of mind-numbing travel.

Someone here, in Tarten? That was rather vague. The Kingdom of Tarten was a big place. Maybe she meant town? He hoped so, because she was headed away from the city gates. But, the street did turn 'round later on, and the roc was blocking the other direction. He sighed. He had the feeling he'd be doing a lot of following on this trip.

Maybe they'd run into a gang of bandits or something. He missed the thrill of battle. He mentally called Domicus back in, this was going to be a long day.

Aiden

Aiden stood atop a knoll far into the hillside. His eye's could not leave Ariana.

"I have guarded you your entire life, nothing will change."

Ethan pulled his hood over his head and hopped onto the saddle. Tugging lightly on the harness his horse slowly moved forward.

Ariana felt eyes upon her but did not feel any animosity from them. Instead she felt a possesivness that surprised her. Shaking her head she let whoever it was follow them. He would show him or herself sooner or later. Closing her eyes a moment she sent her mind out looking for the chosen one. For the familiar life force of a sage. Bingo! She found him, a good ride away but she now knew where he was. Drawing back she mentally called to Aneke. "Find him, watch over him for the dark riders will be after him. Tell me immediatly if you sense trouble and most of all don't tell him who he is. The knowledge unless explained by one such as me can put in him grave danger" Aneke nodded "Ok, and you keep an eye on this gaurd. They are ruffians remember? He might try something" then with a pronounced hmph she blinked out of her sight in search of the sage. Smiling to herself Ariana continued on her way.

Enkai

Enkai laughed as she swam with the dolphins in the ocean. Diving deep into the depths before soaring out, they played the game endlessly. Her long hair streamed behind her as she left a wake of bubbles before shooting up and over the waves and into the air. She twisted her body, scattering droplets of salt water, before straightening out to dive back below. Together the woman and animal danced a ballet in the water.

She stilled suddenly, her head tilted as if listening. Her almond shaped eyes widened with alarm before she turned abruptly in the water and swam away from her friends whom could not catch up. She swam deeper and deeper until she reached the ocean floor. Enkai speed along the surface towards a deep ocean canyon. Hidden between the high crevices was Oseania. The young woman moved with effortless grace as she disappeared into the fantastic underwater kingdom.

Lawerence

He left the horse to follow Ariana's, keeping an eye on the trail behind them. Domicus was scouting ahead, and reported nothing, but he kept having that feeling. The feeling they were being followed. Well, she was being followed, why would anyone follow him?

He sighed. He took to polishing his staff, casting glances to the sides and behind them. They were being followed, he was sure of it. He thought about falling back, or snapping a circle, but knew that he shouldn't leave the Sage alone. He grumbled.

He wondered if they'd be setting camp, or forging on at night. He, Domicus, and the warhorse, Shan, were veterans, and far too old to be questing through the night. But, he wasn't about to slow anyone down. None of them were.

He gave the horse a nudge, pulling up next to Ariana. "So, what do you think about it?" He gave a glance to their right before falling back a few feet, awaiting an answer.

"What do I think about what" She asked innocently. "We shall find the sage by late tonight if we ride without stopping, but if you can't handle it we can start camp" Her eyes gave him a challenging look.

Lawerence

He returned the look. "I can take one day without rest. I can take several. But that's beside the point. I want to know what happens after we find the Sage."

He motioned over his shoulder. "And I want to know what you think about your shadow. If you want, I can have Domicus fall back, take a look around."

He looked up at the sky. "But, most importantly, I want to know what you think about me. I know you didn't choose to go on this mission, I want to know what you think of someone who did."

He patted the horse's neck, bringing it back up even with hers, a few feet between the two. He turned his gaze over to her. He had never been able to travel with someone else without a conversation, or a tune. Maybe he should pull out his flute and leave her alone? Or maybe she wanted to know more about him?

"Hey, what about me?" Meru shouted from in the air.

"Noone asked you to come along!" shouted Ariana.

"Well I'm coming anyway. Remember, I may be flying high up, but I can still hear you!" she nuged Arti and flew higher.

High above the ground, Meru adjusted something on her helmet. Inside, a sound started vibrating.

"CCHHHHhhcucuhhchccchchchchchcWhat's with her?hhchchchchchhhc"

"bhbhthhthbthI don'y knowchechchchcc, but it might be good to hvhehvhhon wings"

Meru adjusted a little more.

"Besides. she's obviously lonely let's let her tag along for awhile."

I HEARD THAT! meru shouted, convinced that they heard her. Gods bless technology she thought. She had managed to plant a small radio bug on them so she could listen in on them. Inside her glass visor, a green neon line began forming, tracing the road, the hills, the horizon, and landmarke. A grid quickly filled in the lines. A few lines of words appeared, saying stuff like "temperature irregularity" and "heat signature" and other stuff the computer felt needed noticing. In one corner were 4 lines. One her height, another air temperature, another airspeed, and the forth latitude/longitude. She didn't understand the latter, nore could comprehend speed, but height and temperature she figured out early and was thankfull for.

The first adventure meru had after splitting from her sisters was to travel to the far future. It was purely by accident. A powerfull wizard was practicing a time travel spell by going 5 minutes into the future, but meru distracted him and it turned into 5 thousand years. Technology brought her back, and she came back with some souveneers. Like her helmet and other obsequities. Allways keeping it a secret, even from her sisters, Meru attributes her "luck" and "accuricy" to years of taining and skill.

"Isn't that right Arti" meru asked, petting the Roc. She pulled up some feathers from the neck, and pulled out a cord which she connected to her helmet, so she could see just how much battery power the mechanical bird still had left.......
