The drones hobbyists are buying are small and can't be easily seen in the dark.

Coolest thing ... coolest thing ... I don't know about other people, but where I live is about a block of apartments next to a high school and a huge parking lot and everyone comes outside, ready to shoot off fireworks collected over the year (only a year, nothing goes unexploded). Lots of people go down to mexico and come back with things they don't sell in stands. The big pipes that shoot way up into the air, anyway.

The coolest thing is all these people getting together, talking, eating, drinking, their kids running around in amazement, throwing those little spinning things at each other's feet and everything else in the world is put on hold for about 6 hours or so, sundown to when the cops drive by and say 'enough people, enough' (but you know they are full of shit when they offer, 'one more, but only because I'm lighting it, but then you have to stop'). One more turns into another half hour or so.

That's pretty cool.
