Is anyone else having a problem with a blank screen warning "The connection was reset"? It's been happening to me, mostly when trying to post, sometimes just choosing a topic will do it. I never used to have the problem, this is something that's fairly recent and occurs frequently during a visit.

To my knowledge nothing has changed on my computer.

Not getting your msg but if I take any more than a few minutes to write a response when I hit SUBMIT REPLY it takes me to the log-in page and that wipes what I just spent 15 minutes typing. WHen I log on it takes me to a blank reply box. Grrrrr. This is STILL one of the best sites on the entire NET for this kind of question / advice. Most sites similar are full of morons and idiots and those are just the mods.

It kinda sounds like an issue with your browser's session cookie, except that you haven't changed any browser settings on your end -- am I correct? I've also noticed that my sessions are sometimes abruptly terminated even though I always click the "Remember Me" checkbox when logging in. I've not changed my browser settings in any way, and in fact have not even updated my browser, its addons or plugins, or my OS in many months.

Have you notified Lit's tech support team and/or pointed them to this thread? It might be helpful to indicate what OS and browser you use (including version info), to wit:

Mac OS X 10.5.6, Firefox 3.5.2

or whatever.

I get that message sometimes, but it usually isn't site-specific... it has to do with my wireless connection.

Are you using wireless when this happens? Maybe the reason you are noticing it most when you're posting is because the connection drops out while you're composing your post.

I get some of this too, though it's not lost posts as much as Lit drops me as being logged in.

I rarely run with cookies enabled, scripts are usually on a case by case basis, though depending on what I'm doing on the net I will allow scripts.

I had not thought about notifying Lit's admin about it. Usually things like this are user errors more often than they are site errors, but if enough people are having similar experiences, then it raises the question about site problems. Did any of that just make sense? LOL :D

Good call on the other stuff. I'm running W2K and the latest Firefox.

Nope, not wireless, DSL off a router. It's not been a problem until the last few months and it seems to be getting worse.
