I just cooked (and finished eating) my hubby's choice of lunch for Father's Day. He didn't want the usual roast dinner, he wanted a fry up.

Anyway, I cooked him (and the rest of us) chips, baked beans, fried tomatoes, mushrooms, fried eggs, fried bread, pork sausages, bacon and black pudding (pig's blood and fat). Yummy, but not very low in fat.

I now feel like a cannibal.

Okay, Pornsters, you asked for it.

This is the farm house we stayed in. There is no air conditioning in this house and after six inches of rain that week the humidity was dreadfully high, as was the temperature. Needless to say, there was little sleep to be had.

The large red building in back is where the large sows are held and fed. Pigs do not sweat, apparently, and therefore are very sensitive to heat and must be kept shaded and cooled.

These two guys were always together and we named them Laurel & Hardy.

This pig was posing nicely, but just when I went to snap the photo he decided to go potty.



Too bad you're all missing out on the delightful smells that accompanied the 'taking' of the photos.

A huge storm rolled through while we were there, further damaging the already flooded fields and crops. The soybeans will have to be replanted if there is time and some of the corn will be lost this year.

Farmers are hard working people and take some really rough knocks at time. I was glad to visit just to learn that first hand.

p.s. Ohio is FLAT!!!
