Living in Las Vegas, I have seen some great concerts. I have a friend who owns a casino and he gets tickets comp'ed to him all the time. That makes it not only great fun (the company is wonderful) but also CHEAP. ;-)

One of my all time favorite concerts was The Moody Blues at the House of Blues. The venue is really small and I was so close I could have tossed a golf ball and hit Justin Hayward.

I still want to see Sting and Rod Stewart before I die. But the last time they were both here the tickets were OUTrageous. My daugher saw her long time idol, Madonna, last weekend. I was sooo jealous. She did buy me a cool concert T-shirt though, and she called me 3 times from the concert. LOL She was really really jazzed.

Who have you seen?
Who do you want to see before you die?

going to see lynard skynard on june 18th. cant wait. would love to see ozzie in concert.

I haven't been to any concerts in so very long, but I used to go all the time when I was younger. I've seen KISS eight times (and never with make-up, which sucks) and Judas Priest five times, I think.

My favorites: The first time I saw Iron Maiden was with their original lead singer. Not Bruce Dickenson. It was SO good.
I saw Alice Cooper years ago in a small venue on a Monday night, and it was really intimate. He pointed his whip at me and sang for a moment. My heart almost leapt out of my chest.
Joan Jett was a thrill for me, notwithstanding the fact that she's so fucking fine.

I would love to see Madonna or Tina Turner. It would be 'once in a lifetime'. To see Tool, Linkin Park, Jane's Addiction or Foo Fighters would be delightful, but I just can't take a crowd anymore. Ideally, if I could turn back time and see The Sex Pistols or The Clash, I would sure do it.

I have plans to go see Astral Projection in July but I will have to miss DJ Tiesto who plays tonight or tomorrow - I forget when.

I don't go out much due to simply lacking money. the last time I went out I saw Judge Jules spin. He's pretty cool - lays a lot of the UK Hard Trance which is better than the softer anthemic trance or progressive trance.

For a laid back time, I still enjoy going to Jimmy Buffett concerts, but thruth be told the top 3 best concerts I have ever been to were:

Chicago - Louisville Performing arts center last summer - These guys have been rocking longer than I have been alive, and they still managed a great 3 hour long set. Plus, the stage and light show were the best I have ever seen. They are touring this year as well, but doubleheading with Earth, Wind and Fire. Definitely recomended.

Rush - Starwood Amphitheatre in NAshville THis summer - They are on their 30th aniversary tour, and they too rocked more than many younger acts I have seen. Again, 3 solid hours of them rocking like they just stepped out of a time machine, including a 10 minute long drum solo half way through the second set that was outstanding. The light show was excellent, but the only thing that kept them out of the top spot was the sound was a bit muddied at times, which I blame on the venue rather than the band. Still, if you like Rush, tickets are well worth the price.

Three Doors Down - Remmington's Hunt Club in Starkville, MS 1 1/2 years ago - This up and coming band truly knows how to rock. Their stage presence is phenomenal, but at this concert, they were still just packing bars to the max on the college circuit. The night of the concert, the town had a power outage prior to the band taking the stage which delayed the show by about 30 minutes. This did not affect the show, as the band was running on generator power anayway to drive the show, but it did mean that the club AC stopped working. Rather than cancel due to the oppresive heat like many bands I have seen would have done (it was easily int the 90's inside the club, which was standing room only) The boys of Three Doors Down stripped down to just jeans, and played their hearts out for 2 solid hours. Outstanding effort and outstanding music. highly recommended.

Honorable mention: Puddle of Mudd and Incubus - Beale Street Music Festival, Memphis, TN 2 years ago - Saturday evening started off with people claiming their spots way early. The eveing's line up on that stage was Ike Turner, Puddle of Mudd, and Incubus as headliner. The scheduling of Ike before the other two is quite suspect, as the fans of the two genres do not mix well. However, all thorughout the Ike Turner show, people were finding their places as close to the stage as possible. By the time Puddle of Mudd came on stage, the ccrowd was around 15,000 strong. This kept getting bigger and bigger as the show continued, and the energy of the crowd was evident. By the time Incubus had taken the stage, the crowd had grown to an estimated 40 - 45,000 people. of this a good 1,000 or more had rushed the gates and made their way into the venue, and th ecrowd had broken through the barriers and used the bluffs above the park as seating. I was about 50 feet from the stage, off to one side. The energy and power was awesome. It must have been the size of the crowd and the venue however, as I saw Incubus a bout a year later on their own and the concert, while good, was no where near the quality of that night.

Have to say the very best ever was k d lang, perhaps influenced by my waiting almost 10 years to see her, and having more than a crush on her perfectness.....next in line, and close runner up was Chris Isaak...fantastic performers both who not only give more than your money's worth, but don't sound alien as compared to their recordings.

That is so good to hear. We have tickets to see k d lang in October. She will be here performing with the local symphony and I wondered if it would be a good concert.

I have seen a number of concerts. I saw the YES 90125 tour which was great. I have seen PinkFloyd, Styx, Supertramp, Yanni, Kansas ....well you get a sense for my taste in music.

However, lorddragonwolf, the best concert I have seen was Lynyrd Skynyrd. They were able to bring a crowd "into" their music unlike anyone I had ever seen!

I would LOVE to see the Eagles before I die, though.

LOL, she is definately worth it...sensual and erotic do not begin to describe the power that woman can hold over a crowd with her voice and wit alone. Cheeky bitch she is, sexy as hell, and with or without music there is nothing that can take your focus off her voice once she opens her mouth to sing. Enjoy, and know I am as jealous as all get out I am not going too.:D

It's neat to see all the different tastes in music.

I would love to see Chicago and Chris Isaak. I saw Styx because the tickets were free... otherwise I don't think I would have ever gone. Miss T, I think you and I would have some trouble living together if it hinged on musical tastes... LOL.

I saw KennyG in December. That was really awesome. And ZZTop in October. Man, can they ever rock 'n roll! I missed the B-52's... dammit. Maybe next time they come through...

Saw A Perfect Circle last Monday. Blew my world. So incredible. Thank Gawd I moved to a place that actually draws bands.

I think I would love to be going to a Marilyn Manson concert, but don't see it happening in the near future....have to be satisfied with the fact at least my daughter got to see him.

I would like to see Kenny G.

I also saw Crosby Stills and Nash as well as The Dooby Brothers.

My very first concert was the Irish Rovers and Tom T Hall at the hockey arena in my home town.

*snickers* Does anyone know who these famous singers are????

:D

Just remembered seeing Whitesnake opening for Motley Crew in the 80s. In an enclosed arena in Ottawa, the contact buzz was the free bonus.

(NOT! I ended up sick because of it.............)

I saw CS&N last summer. Well, least I can say I saw them before I died or they did. :-D

You've seen some good ones, dolly.

I don't know this band. Can you share anything of theirs with us?

You're kidding!

Can you believe they came to a town with a population of approximately 1200 people!

Humming "I love little baby ducks..........."

Yea.., I can believe it. Glenn Yarborough came to my hometown (4000 population) ... remember him - "Baby, the rain must fall" - or something like that?

Jeepers... we need to stop this MissT. It's really dating me to God and the world. LOL

Well, I haven't been to a concert in a while. And, my tastes would maybe seem strange to some. Miss T is close to my tastes.

I'm older, so I have seen a few oldies, too. But, there will always be some you want to see and won't.

Yah, I do....ssssshhh, shpwing my age. My first concert was The Jackson 5, closely followed by The Bee Gees when my sister decided to treat her little sister and take her with her to the concert.

Mmmmm, listening to the pure liquid honey of George Michael's voice on his latest CD has made me want to see him in concert more than ever. Very prophetic album for our times and makes a lot of sense of what he said ina recent UK interview I saw him do about it.....of course Amazing makes my soul soar, but so far have to say John and Elvis Are Dead touches me deep, and reflects a questioning of our mad times many pose in bewilderment.
