So, I am feeling lonely and unloved right now. For some reason I am feeling depressed today. I can't seem to kick it out of my system. I thought that a gr8 roll in the hay would do it, but not only did I get screwed every which way from sunday, I feel even more down in the dumps. Some one cheer me up.

You're charming, talented, and inventive. The world will eventually have to acknowledge it. ;)

It's okay, Dar, we all love Shanglan. It's one of those unavoidable conditions in the AH. No use in fighting it. ;)

Watch a funny movie? laughing is good for you.

I recommend The Princess Bride. Or Dodgeball (if you don't mind silliness :) )

Oh, and if you need a quick chuckle, check this link out (make sure you look closely and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page). :D

Hah! Lord, I loved it. Nice one Yui.

As for the other post ... *blush* Thanks awfully. *shuffles hooves* Gosh you're nice.

:rose:

This just about made me cry laughing the first time I saw it...what the lemmings say, and then the judges afterwards had me in tears.

Maybe it'll help. :rose:

ROFLMAO!!!

Thanks Yui, I needed a laugh today. And I love the Princess Bride. So many good quotable lines in there. "Anybody want a peanut?" has got to be my favorite.

"Have you considered piracy? You'd make a great Dread Pirate Roberts."

"Go away or I'll call the brute squad!"
"I'm on the brute squad."
"You are the brute squad!"

Lovely movie.

Love it. Billy Crystal is such a hoot. "Mostly dead." Hehe. And kinda mushy, but "Death cannot stop true love." And, "There is a shortage of perfect breasts in this world..."

Dar,

I think it's easy for us "hip mamas" to suffer from emotional burnout on a fairly regular basis. We give so very much all the time and the kid(s) pretty much always come first. It seemed to me from one of your posts that (like me) you sleep with you kid(s) as well. Most of the time we handle the drain with no problem but then something happens, PMS, ovulation, a disagreement, or even something intangible but equally real and we don't have any more to give. But our kids still need, even when we're depleted. It's a tough place to be.

When my oldest got to be about 5 I started being gently honest with them about it. When I was having a down day I would say, "Mama's love tank is running low and she needs to fill it up!" I am still constantly amazed by the things they will do to "fill my love tank." I get back scratchings, feet lotionings, fahn-cy hair-dos, special pictures and secret love notes.

When you parent the way it seems like you do, your kids are quite capable of giving back to you when you need it because your entire relationship has a balance and the understand that very early. It is good for your kids to have the opportunity (in small doses) to take care of you too. It helps them adjust their world view and gives them practice at putting others first. It is obviously NOT healthy for children to be a parent's emotional caretaker most or all of the time. But occassionally it's really good for everyone!

You a great mom Dar, and a sexy one too! You've got the whole package, Sweetie, and this down day will pass leaving you feeling fresh as spring and ready to "be yourself" again. Be gentle with your own soul today. You deserve many good things!

XOXO,

Every time you post, Shanglan, I find myself even happier that you found your way here.
