"My son was 20 years old; he got pulled over for having air fresheners in the car that I just gave him. All he did was have air fresheners in the car and they told him out the car, he got out of the car and his girlfriend said they shot him. He got back in the car and he drove away and crashed. And now he's been dead on the ground since 1.47 [p.m.]."

Yeah, solid first-hand reporting from a disinterested party...

No need to get any other side of the story, eh Lance? That is you MO.

The MO of that community is,
What do we want?
DEAD COPS!!!
When do we want them?
NOW!!!

You forgot the hung jury/mistrial option.

Overall the prosecution faces an uphill battle here. The bar for being found guilty is high on all of the proffered charges. The defense is doing a good job of undercutting the prosecution on cross. So much so as to cause me to wonder why the prosecution even called some of the witnesses they've brought forth.

For the time being I'm going with a hung jury mistrial.

Don't worry. The Biden Administration will step in and properly convict him.

;) ;)

Oh look! Someone has mastered the bumper-sticker parrot...

I left it out on porpoise because I think it'll be one or the other.

Guilty.

American cops killing black men over a $20 bill or an air freshener is lynching.

All Americans have equal treatment under the law, crazy shit like that.

Nailed it, especially in light of that last post...

He was shot for possession of legal air fresheners.

*chuckle*

What a shit-stirer you think you are.

Things hanging from your mirror that obscure a driver's outward view is an offence in most motor vehicle codes/acts in north america.

Cops rarely enforce it; it's there to give cops a legally valid reason for pulling you over without any real reason. DWB, for example.

Same as the 2nd Lieu soldier who got pulled over in his new Tahoe because they couldn't read/see his Temp Permit through the limo tint glass...inability to clearly see your tags is a codified reason for a traffic stop.

Deep tint laws vary, but the rationale is you can't see who's inside. Of course, cops don't use it to stop actual limos, there has to be Tint Plus1...subwoofer sounds, or other evidence of blackness/badness.

I think the medical reports and officials offer plenty of reasonable doubt.

Seeing as he could aspirate (move air in and out of his lungs) and had enough drugs in his system to put a rhino into a coma and all the medical pros begrudgingly testified it's a reasonable possibility that he OD'ed and highly probable that they at least in part led to his death.

But I don't think the jury in this case wants their lives destroyed by if not directly ended by the "fiery but mostly peaceful protests" so they're probably going to convict.

Because if they acquit and it EVER becomes public who they are? Their lives are over.

There won't be any "justice" in this case.

Under that train of thought the good folks of Northfield MN should have been prosecuted for shooting up the James-Younger gang, right?

Further, your co-mingling two different incidents.

A guy OD'ing while being detained isn't a lynching.

Quit being such a drama queen.

"A 22-year-old Black man named Phillip Colbert was stopped by a La Paz, Arizona police officer in September 2019 over an air freshener in his rear-view mirror. Nearly six months later, the officer has been fired, according to the Phoenix New Times."

I use the spray type, myself...it might get me rolled or stabbed, but not shot by a cop.

$375/min. and an out of work cop. Not a bad 40 min. work out for Colbert.

What did Colbert do right there? He followed all legal directives by the cop.

Black mothers need to start teaching their children to obey police commands
so that they don't have to end up doing the whole lamentation thing.

Instead, the mother doesn't parent and then scapegoats
they very people who are tasked with keeping
her, and her family, safe from
the criminal element.

The jury will convict him.

The fact that he was "going to MAYBE" overdose is not a defense against aggravating that possibility into a certainty.

"You take your thin skulled plaintiff where you find them" is an axiom in the legal profession. What that means is that just because the victim had an underlying issue, it doesn't mean you're not responsible if you injure/kill him.

Chauvin is going to be convicted because he was responsible and culpable. The fact that Floyd MIGHT HAVE died isn't the reason he DID die.

^ this. And more. Minority communities need to clean up their act and get rid of the criminal element they harbor. Doing that will go further toward more of their children surviving than anything else.

There are other things that need doing too. Stop the handouts (phase them out), stop the false hysterics about how whitey is "oppressing them" when they voluntarily live in metro "plantations" waiting for the monthly food/housing/clothing benefits handout. Stop the bullshit narrative about how kneeling and bowing their heads for their white masters' anthem is somehow "protesting." Stop the stupidity of accepting drugs that are provided/legalized only for the purpose of subduing the minority communities (and other fools). Stop killing their progeny at the behest of the "racist institution" we call government in the name of "population control."

Those are just a start but it really comes down to accepting the responsibility of being an adult and standing up for yourself instead of whining about your lot in life because of the color of your skin.

OTOH, police also need to face some personal accountability for what they do in the line of duty that violates the law. Pretextual stops violate the law in more ways that just infringing on the public's right to be left alone. Any officer who makes a habit of Terry Stops for every black he sees, is also violating the rights of the public because it is a misuse of his authority even though "legal."

Those officers who engage in that behavior pattern need to be held personally accountable until they, and the powers that be, learn that they shouldn't be police officers.

Too many cops believe that they're hired to be Tom Horn. The immunity granted to them shields them from Tom's fate when it should not. Chauvin is going to learn that the hard way.

So it is the black mothers fault that cops shoot their kids. Great insight there from the local racist morons! :)
