Hi, All

As a Brit, I have to say I was quite moved that the American Anthem was played first at the Changing of The Guards in London today. To see the American tourists standing in tears, but standing proudly, was quite a sight to see. I'll never forget it...

I take my hat off to whoever thought such a surprising break with tradition was warranted!

Thanks man, it is an honor to hear that ppl of other countries feel the pain that we do, thank you and all of the Countries that have sent help.

This country shall always stand together..I have held in my arms ppl that have fallen into tears at some of the news that has come and gone. In my own city we feared for our lives the day of the attacks as the city was disturbed by loud explosions and homes had walls shaking with items falling. It turned out to only be 2 jets taking off from the air force base, which is high on a terrorists hit list, to escort air force one...they hit sonic boom so close to the ground trees caught fire...

I live in a stragetic area, with a chem. weapons depot and SAC within 100 miles, so i am very worried about this threat

I am deeply moved that a tradition such as the changing of the guards sang our national antham. Thank you so much for shairing that with us. It means a lot to know that the world is backing us up on this.

All over the world people have been moved by the terrible tragedy. New Zealand is a small country but our hearts are big for our American friends. The Bank of New Zealand is accepting donations to send to America to help. I am going to do the little I can to help in anyway.

Wow...

I'm speechless.

And if anyone here actually follows my threads, you'll know that's unprecedented. ;)

Thank you for sharing that.

Just one more thing..

That makes me Proud to be an American.

I have cousins In Britian and they all were there...

I saw that as well - and it definitely got to me. In fact, I just made a post regarding it, here(http://www.literotica.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=45884&pagenumber=2 ).

However, I don't think those were American tourists with tears (it's no coincidence you assumed that. And THAT'S why it's so effective to SEE Britain mourn, and honor us like that). Consider the possibility - people outside this nation actually care for us that much. Amazing concept, eh? (And I don't mean that sarcastically).

I didn't think they'd give a damn either. Which begs the question: Have we been arrogant assholes? Or has the world been showing us too little appreciation? Maybe we're 'arrogant' - to over compensate for the lack of love, eh? We've had to find it in ourselves. Without you. Cuz that's basically what arrogance stems from (I know this - for I'm an arrogant bastard, hehe).

In any case - I'm definitely grateful for the show of support and consideration. Certainly honored by it. Taken even!

Hi, XXplorher

Well, we Brits may not agree with everything you Yanks say, but we still think a hell of a lot of you! Never confuse disagreement with dislike :)
