John Lewis was a detective for the Western Police Department. He was one of the younger detectives on the force, as well as one of the top lead detectives the department had. He started in the police department eight years ago, working his way up the ranks from a simple patrol man all the way to detective. He enjoyed his job, he felt like he was really helping his community.

John was married to his high school sweetheart, Amanda. They both moved to Western after college, once John got hired in the police department. Amanda worked for a local financial firm, and the two seemed to be the perfect couple. John and Amanda lived a simple life, aside from their jobs. Lately the two had been talking about starting a family. The idea of having a child was something John wanted, but he did not know if it was the right time. His job was demanding, and he knew it could be hard on both Amanda and him.

It was late Friday night, John was at home with Amanda, getting ready for bed. He was about to climb into bed with his wife when he got a phone call on his cell phone. He answered the phone, "Detective Lewis," he said as he listened to the other end. He sighed as he stood up, a serious look on his face. "Got you sir, I will be right there," he said as he hung up the phone. He looked at Amanda and sighed.

"Sorry babe, I have to go. Seems that something major happened downtown at one of the local hotels," he said. Amanda seemed concerned, and John shook his head. "I am not sure what it is, all I know is the captain wants me down there quickly to get on the case, I really have to get going."

John changed quickly, putting on a pair of black dress pants with black shoes. A black belt with a white button down shirt and a blue tie. He grabbed his badge and gun, and his jacket and headed out the door. He climbed in his car and drove off toward the crime scene, wondering what could have possibly happened.

Caty "Cat" Webber

Caty Webber was a well known celebrity, socialite and model. She received awards for her work , been named Americas most beautiful woman twice and she just got recently married.

She had a glamorous life. She got paid for appearances with her husband Nicholas and they had a perfect marriage at first until she caught Nicholas messing around on her with a guy. He had tempted her to join in at first mainly because she was drunk amd secondly because she was foolish. She tried to keep things as normal but itnhurt her that he kept sleeping around and she began staying out more and making more money at appearances.

She was drunk one night and took a saucy picture then suddenly she became the wild child. She was accused of cheating on Nich and sleeping around when it actually was him and what hurt her more was when he began hitting her.

She had to cover up bruising with long clothing and she had decided to leave a few weeks ago. She had showed up at their place earlier to finish getting her things and had a few drinks in her when she stumbled upon his body.

She was shocked and then she began screaming then the tears followed. Neighbors hearing her had called 911 and they arrested her but she couldn't talk she was in too much shock. She sat crying her shirt stained with his blood and in a private holding cell where they told her a detective was on the way for her questioning.

John arrived at the crime scene after they arrested the suspect. He found the lead investigator on scene and asked what happened. "Looks like a woman murdered her husband, but we won't know the cause of death for at least 48 hours," the investigator said.

John took some notes of the scene, the approximate time of death, the body, and some of the other surroundings. He left the investigators to do their job, and headed to the precinct to question the main suspect.

As he arrived at the precinct, the captain called John into his office. "John, this is a big case," Captain Williams said. "The suspect is Caty Webber and the victim is her husband Nicholas Webber." John looked at the captain in shock, "Wait, the celebrities? This is going to be a media circus...." he said. The captain shook his head, "Question her hear..... we wont be able to hold her unless you get a confession. Her lawyer will be here within the hour. See what you can get out of her before she makes bail." John nodded, and headed out of the office.

He walked towards the holding cell, and entered. He looked at Caty Webber, she was exactly like he thought she would be. She looked gorgeous, even in her state of shock and sadness. John walked in, "Mrs. Webber, I am detective Lewis..... I am here to ask you a few preliminary questions if that is okay?"

Caty had her head rested against the wall crying silently. Her head hurt from the buzz and her body was numb seeing Nicholas's body like that. She heard a voice speaking to her and looked up feeling a bit dizzy.

"Mrs. Webber, I am detective Lewis..... I am here to ask you a few preliminary questions if that is okay?"

Caty turned her head facing him. "No..." she said a bit slurred "I dont want to talk to anyone... not unless you can bring him back"she said grabbing his shirt and her eyes welling up with tears

"I didn't want this! I loved him and now.." she sobbed suddenly feeling sick thinking of how his body was placed along the wall. She couldn't help herself throwing up on his shoes. She gagged saying"No talking...leave..I want to be alone".

With that she sank back onto the chair she was sitting in before.

John heard her, his eyes on the young woman as she professed her innocence in a way. He sighed as he felt her grab his shirt. As she got sick and threw up on his shoes, he shook his head. He let her sit back down in the chair and he headed out of the small room.

He was not mad, in fact, he felt bad for her. She had obviously been drinking, so he knew he would have to take note of that. He cleaned off his shoes, and made sure he waited twenty minutes. He knew the captain would not be happy he took so long to go back in, but he wanted her to relax.

Before he headed back into the room, he grabbed some water and some medicine for her hang over. He opened the door again and walked back in. This time he did not say anything, he put the water down in front of her, and the medicine. He then moved toward the back wall.

A janitor came in and cleaned up the throw up that was left on the floor, then left. John looked at Caty, then sat down across from her.

"Mrs. Webber..... first of all, I want to apologize for your loss, I know this is not an easy night. I do have some questions. If you do not want to answer them, that is fine, you can wait for your lawyer." He then looked at her, "but if you wait for your lawyer, we will probably process you as a main suspect, and I do not want that."

He looked at her, calmly. "I just want to get some information....... that is all."

Caty had calmed down after sobbing for at least a half hour. She didn't know why she was so upset overnher husband's loss. She shouldve been relived she didn't have hell anymore or at least mad he'd left her alone. She was just sad that she she gave 100% of her heart and he played her for publicity and a contract marriage.

She saw the man return to the room with a bottle of water she was greatful for and they had allowed her to clean herself up in the bathroom. She had removed her shirt stained in his blood and sat in her sports bra and yoga shorts. She saw a janitor come in cleaning and giving a few looks her way and listened to the man speak.

She'd answer just what she wanted until her lawyer arrived but nothing to frame herself because she was sure they thought she did it and media was outside.

She grabbed the water taking a few swigs but left the medicine preferring to tough it out.

"What do you want to ask me?"she said looking down at her hands. She hadnnot even recognized her own voice because it was hoarse from her screaming. She knew that the man was trying to be gentle but she wanted to leave and be left alone.

John smiled as she took the water, he heard her ask him what he wanted to know and he leaned back in his chair. He felt his eyes look her over. He had seen Caty Webber on the television and in magazines. Her body was just as good as it looked on all those things as she sat there in her sports bra and yoga shorts.

He sighed, "First off, last night..... where were you before you came home?," he asked. "Where you out with some friends, or just out at an appearance?"

He took a pad out of his pocket, wanting to write down her answers. He looked at her, smiling calmly, "We are just trying to get a timeline.... I am not accusing you of anything Mrs. Webber."

"Nicholas and I were both at an award show and rode back to western together. Once we were in town we parted separate ways me uptown him downtown. I was at the grand opening of lust wearing a black outfit and heels. You can check my fannpage for selfies...I had a few drinks there and hung out a bit then I headed to our place downtown for the night.."she said and leaned back in the chair

She saw him writing everything down and sighed. She didn't trust that they weren't trying to accuse her as she watched the detective. He was her idea of what a hot cop would be. She looked himmup and down ogling him a bit. She knew it was wrong to be staring at him that was with her dead husband in a herse outside(she assumed)but Nicholas hadn't touched her himself in 8 months and they had gotten married 12 months ago. She had did everything even trying sex with his lover and him a few times 5 months ago.

She shook her head trying to pull her thoughts together and waiting for his next question.

John wrote down where Caty said she was. He made a point to check out her fanpage to see what time the selfies she spoke of were posted. He sighed as he looked up into her eyes. "Alright..... so the next question, when you got home, what happened? Was Mr. Webber around, or was he not there? Approximately what time did you find him?"

He wanted to get the timeline right, and he could see she wasn't completely trusting yet. John smiled, "Mrs. Webber, the best way to prove you are innocent is to be cooperative. I have no thoughts on whether you are innocent or not..... I am completely unbiased here, just looking for facts."

"No he wasn't home I was alone in our uptown loft...I assumed he came back to our house since its closer to downtown and I had a few more drinks when I got home. I got naked and got in the hot tub to relax after being to two events one after the other. I went to bed after my soak and when I woke up I finished my cocktails I brought back with me to the room before getting up and showering to meet my trainer. I got dressed in this and my top and headed out around 12am. I realized I didn't have my gear and I decided to drop home to pick it up thatnwas when I found him two hours ago around 1 am."she said

She glanced at her phone seeing her publicist call and she knew she'd have to cancel her photo shoots this week.

John listened to her. As she described the evening he sighed. "Okay.... and please do not get frustrated, I am just trying to get a better idea Mrs. Webber." He looked at her, "You had your appearances and ended up coming home after. When you got home you had a few drinks, and then left around 12:00 am to meet your trainer?"

His eyes looked her over in her green work out clothing she was wearing, John couldn't help but wish he was her trainer, just to see her in attire like that more often. He pulled his eyes off of her body as he asked the next question, "Do you normally meet your trainer so late at night?"

He knew this could be touchy, but if she was meeting him for reasons other then working out, like maybe sex, that would make the trainer a suspect. He again felt his eyes looking at Caty in her sports bra and work out shorts, the pictures of her in the magazines did not do her body justice.

Caty smirked inwardly seeing the detective looking at her body and review her statement with her.

He asked if she normally saw her trainer that late and she instant caught the two sided meaning to the question. She smiled coldly and said "Yes Terry and I always meet that late because my days are busy... his husband trains me as well if he is off with another client. I mean I have to get those workouts in sometime detective how else would I keep my body looking like this?"she said and trailed a finger down her side deciding to mess with him a bit for even asking that question.

John listened to Caty answer the follow up question. He took note of that trainer not being a suspect, and then wanted to ask his next question. However, as Caty made her next statement, John felt himself fall into her trap a bit.

"I mean I have to get those workouts in sometime detective how else would I keep my body looking like this?," she said. John felt his eyes following her finger down her side. Again checking out her body.

John cleared his throat, "Okay, so you got home and you found his body. Did your husband have any enemies I should know about? Anyone who was jealous of him being with you or anyone who had a problem with him?" John looked at her, trying not to focus on her chest, but he couldn't help it again. He was happily married, why did he keep looking at her body?

Caty smirked seeing he could not keep his eyes off of her body. He asked if anyone had been jealous of him being with her and all she could think of was crazed fans and his lover Jackson.

"All I can think of is his best friend Jackson who constantly tries convincing him what a slut I am and thousands of women who have probably fantasized about sleeping with my husband. Who knows he mightve picked up a little bitch and brought her home with him."she said shrugging feeling herself get upset.

"Am I done here detective you guys have pretty much done everything but strip search me and im sure that your security would be more than willing to"she remarked annoyed.

John took some notes on Jackson. He wanted to question him as well. He closed his pad as he set his pen down and leaned back in his chair. He couldn't help but laugh a bit at her comment about strip searching her. He grinned, "Mrs. Webber, we do not strip search here..... but if you are hiding something I can get a patrol man in here to do that if necessary."

He looked at the woman, she seemed broken up about the death of her husband. He also felt like there was something she was not telling him. John took a deep breath, "So, anything else you feel the need to tell me? Anything that could be important to the investigation of your husbands death?," he asked. He did not say murder, he meant to say death. He knew she just found the body, she did not know officially what happened. He was trying to see how much she may actually know.

Caty threw him a look of shock as he mentioned a patrol man actually searching her "I dont think that'd be necessary besides what can I hide in this anyway everything is pretty much on display" she said turning around so he could see exactly what his partners got an eyeful of while taking her in.

She saw her lawyer walk in with some clothes and smiled hugging the older woman she considered like a mother .

"She has nothing else to say detective she is out of your custody now" Cassandra said firmly Catys bag for her.

Caty grabbed her shirt and shoes she cleaned off and followed her lawyer out who put her things in a bag.

She was relieved seeing the woman and sighed hearing the media outside.

John felt his eyes widen at her comment about the search. She sure was a fire ball, and was not afraid of bringing up her body in front of a man. It was almost as if she wanted to be looked at. As her lawyer walked in, John knew this interview was over.

"Well I guess we are done here......" he smiled at the lawyer. "Thank you for your cooperation Mrs. Webber, I truly do appreciate it....." he said giving her a look of gratitude. "Oh..... please make sure you do not leave town, this is still an ongoing investigation and we may have to question you further," he said as the lawyer and Caty left the room.

John got up, following them out of the office. He saw them heading toward the front door, where there were media waiting to question Caty Webber. He shook his head, knowing her picture would be all over the news and everyone would be writing about her being a suspect in the murder of her husband.

Caty held her composure as her body guard a few officers and her driver walked her to the black Mercedes. They were surrounded his fans crying and throwing rthings amd her fans shouting how much they loved her.

When she got in the car she couldn't help but cry thinking of how much this man was affecting her in life and in death. She knew his family would handle his funeral and most likely tell her not to attend for privacy. She knew she couldn't go back to the house so she headed back to her place uptown to be alone. She saw her phone flooding wih calls and emails and shut it off. She was tempted to cut again. She had done so in her teens to stop her from being depressed. She tries a few nips at her forearms but She knew that drinking would be the only thing that made everything that hurt go away so she found a bottle and drowned her sorrows for the night passing out with the bourbon in her hand and falling asleep.

John knew that the main suspect was gone, but that didn't stop him. He returned to the scene of the crime, walking around with the investigators. They were recreating the crime scene, and it seemed as though Nicholas Webber was stabbed three times in the chest and once in the back. The knife was no where to be found. "Unlucky," John said as he was told the news of the murder weapon being missing. "That will be the key to solving this case," he said as they continued to the bedroom.

John was looking around and noticed it seemed as though something happened in the room. The investigator said they thought someone had sex, and took samples. At the end of the walk around the crime scene, John had a better idea of what happened, but no idea about who the murderer was.

It was 9:00 am, and John had not been to sleep yet. He knew Caty had been home for a couple hours, and decided to stop by her home uptown to see if she had any more information. He drove out to her place and was let in by her security at her front gate. He knocked on the door, and was let in by a maid.

John walked up the stairs, he was shocked at how big the house was. As he entered the room she was in, he noticed her passed out with a bottle in her hand. John walked over and took the bottle out of her hand softly. "Mrs. Webber...... hope I am not disturbing you..." he said trying to wake her.

Caty murmured softly and sighed hearing a mans voice "Mrs. Webber...... hope I am not disturbing you..." she was instantly shocked. She sat up quickly and her eyes shot open shocked to see the detective...in her house.

She smirked saying sleepily"Im not used to men in my bed room detective unless I invite them...Why are you here so early and..how did you get in?"she said sitting up slightly and moving the covers back a littlen revaling a bit of the bra and panties she slept in.

She wasn't sure why he was there unless he was taking her back in. She moved some hair out of her face and sighed deciding to get out of the bed showing him a personal lingerie ad. She hadnt cared because she comfortable with her body and as a model she walked around naked all the time.

John saw the shock on her face, and then saw her smirk as she got comfortable with him being there. "Well, I am sorry to wake you, but your security and maids let me in," he said looking down at her. "I am here so early because I wanted to check to make sure that you got home safe, I saw the scene outside the police station," he said as he watched her pull her covers down a bit.

John couldn't help but look at her in her bra and panties that she slept in. He could not believe how good she looked, especially in this situation she found herself in. "I see you took some pain medicine to help you sleep," he said holding up the bottle.

As she got out of the bed, he looked into her eyes, noticing that she still was drunk. "I am guessing you are not sober right now either," he said grinning at her.

Caty shrugged as he mentioned the scene at the police station it wasnt anything she wasn't used to she was justa bit more sensitive because of the situation. She looked him up and down admiring the toned body she knew hid beneath the uniform.

She grinned as he mentioned her pain medicine and her not being sober "Bourbon cures everything but it's hell to work off..."

She moved closer to him and ran her hand down his chest. "Maybe you can help me keep in shape detective.."she whispered in his ear moving close to him and her hands right above his belt.

John saw her shrug off the comment at the police station. He smiled, guess him showing some concern was not something she really cared about right now. He shrugged himself, guessing he had to move back to trying to find the truth.

The way she acted next caught him by surprise. "Yes, bourbon is hell to work off...." he said as he watched her move closer to him. As he felt her hands move onto his chest, he wondered what she was doing. "Mrs. Webber...." he said as she interrupted him.

"Maybe you can help me keep in shape detective," she said. John looked at her, feeling her hands moving just above his belt.

"Mrs. Webber..... I don't know if you are in any state to work out..... especially after drinking," he said softly. He was trying to remain professional, but he knew his wife would freak out if she saw this scene. Caty Webber this close to a married man, that would send any wife off the deep end.

Caty grinned and kissed his chest her hands moving to unbuckle his belt "Its Cat and ...Are you-?Are you trying to say im drunk detective?"she giggled stumbling a bit.

"You can have some too you know? Then we can call it even..I look out for you since you were sweet and came to check on me hmm? "She offered pressing her half dressed body against his.

She moved her hand down further looking at him "Your hard detective I know that's not a flashlight in there" she laughed

John felt her press her lips to his chest, he was trying to stay professional, but this was going too far. He heard her, and he sighed, "Well Cat..... I am saying you are drunk.... you did drink almost a bottle of bourbon," he said softly.

As she offered him some bourbon, John shook his head. "Are you trying to bribe and officer Cat?," he sighed feeling her body pressing against him. As her hands moved down further, he gasped.

"No.... thats not a flashlight.... its my gun," he said softly. "I am a married man Cat...." he said, holding up his hand to show her his ring. He did love his wife, but Cat was not making it easy for him to make a good decision. He knew most men would have taken her to bed by now, but he was not most men.
