In more modern time the ancient land was deemed cursed and anyone who found it in their possession normally was eager to sell and sell cheap. Enter the newest owner who was not told about the cavern as she was an outsider but was told the area was cursed. She merely wants to get away from the madness of the world and have a place of peace for her art her words and to explore and enjoy... "Cursed" or not.

The magics of the cavern were drawn to the new life in the dwelling that rested above it. The ancient house now held life once more. Quickly the magic centered in one room...the new resident had made it somewhat of a meditation and relaxation room. Much like the alter room it bad been before.

However in the warrior's time no dwelling had been here merely the cave entrance to the cavern and it's magics. The cavern and it's magics did not acknowledge the passing of time the spells caring basis merely knew there were two souls who came to it in need even if they didn't know it and it would permit them to engage time with each other much to their confusion and slowly growing attraction. It will however to begin with only allow them to be face to face if they are in need.

Giselle was pleased with the acres of desert and rocky "mountains" she had found for nearly a song. A new continent and a new start. She hoped the stresses and bell of her former life were long gone and she could start new. She could have cared less that the land was "cursed" her entire life seemed cursed so she should fit in perfectly with this littld oasis. She had her art her privacy and her exploring passion with nomads to trade with and if needed a village half a days camel ride east. She even had livestock suited for the desert including a mother and young camel. She let instinct guide her as to which room to make hers a d then her studio and the most important her meditation room. Walking around the house and found a room in the side of the surrounding style of house that faced the rocky area of her property and felt drawn to place the meditation room there. The pull was almost overwhelming.

Weeks later finally truly settled into the house she found herself having to deal with the life she had left behind. Another fight with her ex husband and his ilk left her angry and sad and hurting as she walked into her sanctuary of a meditation room and collapsed onto the cushion covered bed like seat and broke down shaking and sobbing. She did not feel the air shift in the room or the warmth of the candles grow as the light of daylight vanish as time around her as if trying to protect her.

Kal wiped the sweat off his brow as he stood in front of the entrance to the cursed cave. He could almost feel its otherness emanating from the rocks that made up the ancient structure. His people warned him that entering the cave was risky, but he decided that it was a risk worth taking. Kal had spent his whole life risking everything for someone else's cause, for someone else's truth. But now, he was sick of it. It was time he took a risk for himself.

Kal took a deep breath and with his hand on his sword's hilt, he entered the cave. When nothing happened, Kal found himself actually feeling disappointed.

Voices in the distance caused Kal to jump up and draw his sword. He stood stock still and listened. Again he heard what he thought was a woman's voice arguing with a man. Cautiously, Kal moved deeper into the cave.

Even over the phone from another continent that vermin of a man could hurt her soul. She laid there sobbing as the magics drew her into the safety of its embrace. She didn't see the shift nor the cradling protection. She could still hear her world around her. The noises of the livestock the soft chime of the bell windchime hanging in the meditation room. Beyond that she merely wanted the world to go away and leave her in peace to heal.

Before his very eyes, a strange and foreign woman appeared before him. He gripped his sword and prepared for battle.

"Are you the sorceress of the cave?" Kal asked. His sword never wavered as he stood his ground. "I did not come to fight, but I am willing to if need be.

She jumped hearing a voice turning quickly she saw she was no longer in her home and recoiled.

Who... Who are you? Where am I? What do you mean sorceress?

She was shaking balling up away from him.

The woman did not seem to pose any immediate risk, so Kal was obliged to Lower his weapon slightly. One could never be sure about these situations. He watched as she suffered from some sort of emotional distress. Kal was out of his depth here.

"I am Kal Stryker, son of Erik Stryker, of House Stryker. And you are in The Cavern. How did you come to be here?" Kal asked. He sheathed his weapon and started to approach the woman.

"Someone like you should not be in a place like this." Kal stated.

I was in the meditation room of my house... How did I get here? Could this be the curse the old man spoke of?

She stared as he approached her still recoiled but could not take her eyes off of him. Such muscles and those eyes.

The confused expression on her face gave him pause. Kal extended his hand to her, wishing to help her up.

"I do not know who this old man is, but you should have heeded his warning." The woman was an exquisite beauty. Her long dark hair and flawless skin, combined with her expressive eyes made his heart quicken. It felt as if he was going into battle. Though there were no enemies nearby.

"They say this cave provides those who enter with their true heart's desire. I wonder if that's why you're here." Kal mused out loud. "Could it be that she is my true desire?" He thought to himself.

Reaching a hand out to take his hand. She was still very confused but the curious now at why she was brought here and how.

I... I am Giselle.

"Giselle" Kal repeated, speaking her name for the first time. "A beautiful name. From where do you hail, Lady Giselle?" Kal asked, still holding her hand. As he spoke, he looked around the cave and to his surprise, it had changed without him noticing. A table, two chairs and a full course meal had appeared.

"That's strange. Why would the cave create this?" Kal thought to himself. The food however, smelled of home. Instantly he was reminded of everything he'd lost, the things he had sacrificed. The longing to return home and see his loved ones one more time nearly overcame him, but the soft hand that was still wrapped in his own rough and battle scarred hands reminded him that that was impossible.

"My Lady?" Kal said as he pointed to the table, suggesting they take a seat.

Originally Tallahassee but after a loveless and at times rough marriage I filed for divorce and once that was finalized I moved to a completely different continent to start over. Here in the distant rocks deserts and dunes of Egypt. Found someone selling an ancient looking house and several acres of land cheap so I bought it. Last thing I remember was fighting with my ex husband on the phone a d then moving to the meditation room for some peace and calm and now I am here wherever here is.

She nodded and walked to the table. She had been so busy making sure the animals had food that she had skipped lunch.

As Kal helped her to her seat, he couldn't help but notice the slight trace sent of animal on her. Perhaps she was a farmer of some sort in this 'Tallahasee'. "In this 'Tallahasee', wives are allowed to divorce their husbands then?" He asked as he picked up a wine glass. "Must be a strange place."

If they are abusive womanizing slime of a man yes. Tallahassee is in a state named Florida in America. A couple of oceans away from here and still over the phone he can make my life hell.

She loved the smell of the food. At the mention of the ocean there was a nice cooked fish and vegetables in the table for them as well.

Whoa... I mentioned ocean and it gave us fish to eat too. What is going on here? Did you do that?

Kal shook his head as his worries came back to the forefront of his mind. In his experience, situations such as these were almost always dangerous. "No. It must be the magic of the cave." Kal mused. He took a bit of the seafood and chewed on it thoughtfully. "It seems safe enough." He proclaimed. Giselle was speaking of things he'd never heard of. Her talk of Florida and Phones confused him. How exactly did this cave's sorcery work? Did it summon her from a different realm.

"Here in Egypt, wives serve their husbands faithfully until death and well on into the afterlife. " Kal noted.

What year do you think it is? Many nations punish abusive spouses and divorce seems to nearly be as common as TV's. Or is it what year am I in? This is was too strange...

She ate the fish and smiled.

Yes it is very good honestly about the only thing I miss about Florida was all the great seafood.

Giselle spoke of many strange things indeed, but.Kal was fascinated just listening to her voice. But then Kal got a hold of himself. "Its this cave. I believe it may have transported us...or you, to a different realm. It's the only thing that makes sense. Or perhaps maybe a different time?" Kal mused. The cave had many mysteries surrounding it and time traveling was just a drop in the bucket compared to what he had heard.

So the cursed land is a time or realm traveling cave in it. Okay... Interesting.

She smiled to him.

I have rattled on about me tell me about you?

"I am of House Stryker. We are the Wardens of this territory and all who live in it."Kal said with such pride in his voice. "I have been to the battlefield and gained much honor. Many men still quake in fear at the mention of my name!" As he spoke, his eyes had a kind of sparkle in his eyes as he remembered the battles he had fought in.

She found herself smiling seeing the sparkle in his eyes. The muscles and total lack of modern clothing wasn't that bad to look at either.

It sounds very exciting. The most my ex husband did was spend money complain about everything.

"Tell me, was this husband of yours a great warrior? How many men has he slain on the battlefield?" Kal asked. For some strange reason he was feeling competitive. The woman that sat before him could have been a noble woman where she hailed from and he wanted to make sure he was up to par.

She couldn't help but laugh a little at his question.

He wouldn't know a battlefield if it wasn't on TV and clearly labeled battlefield. Men in my time I measured more by money and possession than glory and battle.

She tried to explain the time she came from as best she could to this man. As well as her own life art and want to explore and learn.

"Your time period is very strange indeed. Here, in my time, a man is not considered a fully grown man until he has spilled blood in glorious battle!" Kal said with a fierce glimmer in his eye. "A man can have no honor if it was not gained on the battlefield." But even as Kal spoke, he could understand the allure of a calmer life. Through his entire life, all he did was train, fight, and kill. He had seen so much death in his lifetime, he wasn't sure he could ever look at life the same way again.

"And the women in your time? What do they do?"

Anything they want... Fight... lead.. Work in any job they wish really. I personally prefer writing novels art and exploring. My mother was in charge of the school system in our town and my father a nationally recognized chef.

She smiled as she sipped the wine that was there at the table for them. What jobs do women have in your time?

"The women here take care of the home. They make sure our children learn their letters and proper etiquette. There is much honor is raising an honorable warrior or a graceful Lady." Kal explained. As he explained his culture to the woman before him, Kal noticed a strange feeling stirring within him. He felt at peace. Usually he was always on alert, ready for any surprise attack from the enemy. However in her presence, he did not feel the need to be on guard.

He never wanted kids. Took too much attention away from him.

She shrugged and listened glad to both have someone to listen to her and a distraction from her ex. She was so relaxed around him is was comforting.
