The Cat thread

Had I been on the right computer, I would had changed into my feline AV.

Always preferred cats.

Cats pretty much lead their own lives. If they need affection they'll demand it. I give them some. If I want affection, I demand it and they give me some.

Then we go about our own lives.

I like that low level of stress.

I adore cats. They are by far my favorite animal species. I, over my years, have been able to have the pleasure of keeping at least 16 different cats in my company. The most I ever had at once was eight. I also had three different generations of inbred cats. We had about three fertile females and one male that seemed to do the trick every time. It was sad when they all had to go, but I remember each of them fondly. Oddly enough my favorites were the ones that were most mean. The very few times I got them to purr I cherish in my memor banks still. Good times. Good times.

We had kittens!
We had two litters at the same time. They were soooooooo cute. Ten little kitties running around, it was just great. :D

I had kittens too!! I love cats, always have. I still remember how happy I was when Meera had her litter. I think I was 6 or 7 years old then. Her kittens were adorable :)

Watching them be born is not so adorable, however.

I stayed home from school for two days when my cat had kittens. I just stayed by her and watched them.

It sounds pathetic, I guess it is really, but I loved every minute of it.

Neither is trying to find homes for them either... :catroar:

Lucky me, I have a large extended family and they all had kids who were fighting over the kittens. They were gone before the week was through.

Lucky you! My only experience was going kitties in hand and begging presumed loved ones for mercy. :catroar:

With my Av's is there any question of what animals share my household with my wife and myself?

This is Charlie with my little girl Beth, he adopted us and spent a few months in our company before leaving this mortal coil...poor pussy cat...

Aww...poor you. If I hadn't managed to get all the kitties of my hands, my Mom would have been so mad. She's allergic to cats so having one in the house was more than enough.

There was only one kitten we weren't able to get rid of. Mom still had her.
They were especially adorable. One litter in particular had double paws front and back because their mother had double paws. People who didn't even like cats wanted to take them home. They looked like they could walk on water.

Near where I live there is a pond. If I am over near the pond I usually walk past the pond because there are frequently ducks swimming in the pond. The ducks are often coloful and provide me with t afree show. Also frequently there are canada geese in or around the pond. A large male of the canada geese can go 15 pounds and they are aggressive and territorially protective birds.

The other day, I was walking past the pond and there were three ducks waddling around the pond area. There was what appeared to be a young male cat that I would estimate to be not quite a year old. The young cat decided to have himself a snack of duck sushi. The cat got down low and began a crouching approach to the ducks. Unfortunately, the cat was down so low that he could not see the canada geese. The cat charged the ducks, the male canada goose charged the cat. The cat lost the charging battle.

The cat came back out of the pond area muttering to me (in cat) something about "vampire ducks." We live and learn.
