I suppose this won't be the first post to this forum seeking to elicit the response I'm after, but enough time may have passed since the last one to make it worth a stab. There's more than enough wham bam thank ye mam on the internet without me adding to it, so I thought I'd offer an opportunity to join a book club for two and see what ensues.

I think discussing a good read is a way better way of getting to know someone than the usual cyberfrottage. In the end, a connection with someone you're drawn to intellectually is far more intoxicating than a hand job over a bunch of texts. That's not to say that the more salacious tendencies won't be stroked (in fact, I'd be downright disappointed if at some point they weren't put out for a good run on a regular basis), but that they are far more enjoyable when indulged with a partner you admire.

I'm happy to be flexible when it comes to choosing a text. PM me with a suggestion (or answer here if you like) and let's see what our better selves can establish for our baser selves.

More the short story type Kim?

More the trashy TV type. I read most of my workday ... it's difficult to do it as relaxation as well. Luckily I read enough novels in my younger days to last me a lifetime.
I do think this is a brilliant way to get to know people though. I do much the same sort of thing with music.

I do agree...mandatory reading does take the fun out of pleasure reading; music is a better way to spend the time.
