It's a very thought-provoking idea. Someone who has a high-risk job might also be the type that we would call adrenaline junkies (base jumping, free climbers, high-speed motorsports) and then in their personal life be sex addicts as it's a similar type of adrenaline rush.

I don't think bomb squad is actually adrenaline junkies. It's extremely meticulous undertaking. But yes, at some point it needs nerves of steel anyhow. In theory, nerves of steel are at least useful around women, and could trigger attraction.
