I think the biggest letdown is when you first realize that your parents, while loved, are just normal people...and sometimes just can't be the people you turn to.

That's sad.

I think most of us hit that realization..some sooner...some later.

I dunno.....I'vealways found i can turn to my parents when i need to.

I can see both sides of this...

I've had periods in my life where it was virtually impossible to depend on either of my parents for anything..and yet there have been times where I don't know what I would've done without them, especially my dad..after my mom died.

Yah, he can be a pain in the ass somtimes, and I'm not afraid to tell him when he pisses me off, or when he lets me down..but more times than not, he's there for me without my even having to ask.
