The sedan pulled up driving into the abandon warehouse and joining the small fleet of cars already parked inside, the men standing out side in the cold worked quickly pulling the massive doors shut behind them and then locking it happy to be out of the cold. The warehouse was abandoned and even though it had no heater the crew had done a good enough job setting up fires to warm up the place. Every one was on high alert today and at their best, if the rumors circling the city were true then some thing big had happened the biggest thing that had happened in the criminal under ground in a long time.

The wolf was back

“Hey Johnny” Mike said turning to his partner while they warmed their hands by the fire “you were a enforcer when the wolf was still operating in the city right?

“Ay Lass” Johnny said his thick Irish accent flowing out of his mouth “I had just came from Ireland my father was a friend of a few people high enough in the gang to get me work I never saw the wolf but I heard him enough times”

“What was he like?” Mike asked leaning in as some of the other rookies inched closer, eager to learn about the person they were truly working for.

“Organized crime in this city used to run rampant” Johnny said looking at them all “then the wolf came took over every thing until no one stood in his way he made organized crime organized arrest rates dropped and we all became a lot richer”

“So why did he get out of the city?” Mike asked looking at the others in confusion “if he was so powerful why did he run”

“Why did I run?” A voice called making them all jump and turn slowly, the sedan doors were open and a man stood studying them all his hands in the pocket of his long black coat.

He was handsome, almost impossibly so, his skin was tan as if he had just gotten back from a vacation in the Caribbean’s or some tropical place, he wore a long black over coat and it was open revealing a black and red Armani suit that was cut against his body in a way that every one could see that he was very fit, his face was free revealing a shiny bald head and strong defined features.

“You all assume I ran” He said a British accent falling out of his mouth “but why would I if I was such a success?” he asked smiling and moving towards the fire with the others.

“The answer is I didn’t run” The Wolf said patting Johnny on the back and causing the poor man to jump and back away with the others “I retired” the wolf said warming his hands and ignoring the panicked looks his crew gave him.

“I left all you capable people to run my empire while I sipped drinks in my small villa” The wolf said looking at them “so why is it that I had to go back in town because of a group of thieves?” he asked his lighthearted tone changing to a hardened edge.

“Because the thieves are using your old tricks” a women’s voice said coming out of the stripped down office, if the crew gathered looked scarred of the wolf it was nothing compared to the females voice. Most of them turned white and turned practically running as the women walked up to the fire.

“Hello sister” Daruis “the wolf” Johnson said smiling and watching the others run “still striking fear into our workers I see”

“You trusted me to run the business” Anna “The Cub” Johnson said her hard mouth finally melting into a smile as she hugged her brother “welcome back” she said squeezing him.

“Its good to see you little cub” Daruis said patting his sister on the back before letting her go “so why am I here?” he asked walking with her into the office.

“The robbers are good” Anna said going over to a fold out table and picking up some surveillance photos for Daruis to look at “they have been hitting with out asking for our permission which would be enough to take them out but they are also hitting all our businesses”

“Ever business is our business” Daruis reminded her looking over the pictures and taking mental notes.

“You know what I mean” Anna said rolling her eyes “moms business”

Daruis eyes narrowed and he put the pictures down turning to his sister and frowning, his mom ran a jewelry business before she died and Anna and Daruis did every thing they could to keep it alive and running. When Daruis became the wolf he took it a step further turning it into a large business that flourished under Anna’s care. If some one was hitting them exclusively then they knew how important it was, they were also deliberately pissing off the two most powerful people in the city.

“I want every one on this” Daruis said watching her “put teams together to sit on every place we own, they know where onto them so they probably wont attack again but Its better safe then sorry”

“I already did that” Anna said nodding “how do you want to play this?” she asked

“For now you are still the wolf” Daruis said walking to his car “I want to work the city for a while I’ll use one of my old Aliases and report to you if I find any thing”

“Okay brother” Anna said following him and stopping him “there’s one more thing at the last job they killed one of our guards your old pal Vinny’s son” she said looking sad.

“Does Vinny know?” Daruis asked turning to her and sighing.

“Not yet” Anna said shaking her head

“I’ll go tell him” Daruis said stepping into his car “be safe little cub”

“You to wolf” Anna said watching as the car rolled out.

The wolf was back in town

"Your father didn't do you justice Red."

Red glanced to her bartender with her eyebrow raised. She had been survaling the dance floor and had zoned out on her newest lead. Jacob was this haunts best bartender and her father's favorite drinking buddy.

"I'm surprised daddy talked about me at all Jacob. He sure talked about you a lot. How you were the best damn lead he ever had." Red flicked her eyes to a man walking her way. Her warm chocolate eyes glinted and he paused. She sneered slightly and the man thought better and walked away.

Jacob pretended to clean his counter and tisked. "Just drop that nonsense Red. That's the third man you've scared off tonight. Just drink up and dance. Look at the other woman around you. They know how to have a good time."

Reds jaw visibly clentched. She flicked her shoulder length hair and attempted a smile. The wince she got from Jacob made it clear she had failed. She had been looking at the other woman laughing and flirting.

She dressed like them. She had a black form fitting dress but her breast strained over the top. Her matching gloves and purse were resting on the bar top. Her jewelry was modest but fashionable. Her features were dark and beautiful. Pale skin and jet black hair it was impossible for her to go unnoticed. she played to that strength by coating her full lips in a bright red lipstick. When she had her signature red coat on it blended well. With out it, it was hard to stare at anything else but her mouth.

The club was brightly lit and fully hopping. She was happy she got in for free. The nice clothes, bribe money and expensive drinks were cutting into her rent money. It was an open house due to the recent loss.

Red leaned forward whispering. "Vinny's son is dead. There's more than one reason I'm doing this Jacob. So stop treating me like a little girl and spill like the fountain my daddy said you were."

Jacob looked over her shoulder then whispered back to her. "I can't get you in Red."

Red brought her glass down a little too rough. It splashed and a few people near by glanced her way. "I can get myself in Jacob. I have the skills I just need the meet up."

Jacob shook his head no cleaning the mess she had made. Red grabbed his hand and forced Jacob to look her straight on. She slipped some money into his palm and Jacob gave her a soft smile. "Your daddy did it just like that."

This gave her a genuine smile. "Distract and bribe. What he didn't teach me I learned from watching Jacob. I know what I'm doing. I have some info on the gangs causing a ruckus. That will get me in and my skills will keep me there. I know tonight a lot of people are here to pay respects to Vinny for his loss. Just get me to the highest up you can, ok?"

Jacob nodded staring at the beautiful woman before her. "You look so much like your mother" Red broke eye contact with him not enjoying the comparison right now "You can't handle the wolf girl. If he sniffs you out you father would never have forgiven me."

Red turned her eyes back to the jazz band picking up pace. "My daddy's dead and I'm not afraid of some big bad wolf just get it done Jacob."

Jacob left and she relaxed hoping this would pan out. She sounded confident but she was terrified. She was a one woman army. The few woman in wolfs gang were hussies. To go to bat as an enforcer had been nearly impossible. She had the fighting skills she just needed the shot.

The more she got noticed the higher she could climb. She wasn't going to stop until she was at the top. If any one got in her way she'd take them out. She was putting the wolf down at any cost.

TWO DAYS LATER

“I cant believe he is gone”

“I am sorry Vin” Daruis said glancing over at his old friend before regarding the disarona in his hand “He was a good man from what I heard one of our best losing him is like cutting off an arm” He said bringing his shot to his lip.

“Aye he was” Vincent “vinny” Ortego mumbled his voice hoarse with sadness as he brought his own drink up and drained it “The kid was good even if he could be a bit of a lunk head every once in a while” Vinny remarked taking a long drag of his cigar.

“I have no doubt if he was your son” Daruis said leaning back to regard his old boxing coach and his first boss “Its good to see you old man” He said softly “even if I am sorry it came like this”

Vinny shrugged looking back “It was only a matter of time but yeah its good to see you as well I knew you would be back though”

“How?” Daruis said raising an eyebrow.

“In a town like this people forget no offense to your little sisters but shes a good business woman not an enforcer people forgot about the good old days wolf and when people forget they get ideas” Vinny said reaching to pour them another drink.

“I agree” Daruis said glancing out at the one way window over looking the club they were in “Which is why im back to remind every one who the wolf is”

“To start we need to get some real tough sons of bitches up” Vinny said getting up his arms trembling “Some hard punks who will teach those people who killed my son a lesson”

“All in good time” Daruis said coming over and putting a hand on his shoulder “For now go get the gym set back up we need a place to train and I need a cover” He said laughing and stepping back nodding at his toned down black and red suit “my new name is Ian Ian Driver I don’t want to tip any one off that I am here”

“You got it boss” Vinny said reaching out to grip his shoulder “and it isgood to see you again” he said embracing him before clapping his back and going over to the door. He left leaving Daruis alone for a few seconds he reflected on what his friend said before finally leaving going back down to the club.

“Jacob” Daruis said coming over and leaning against the bar “give me a beer please” He said Jacob knew enough to knew enough and quickly glanced at Red before hurrying to get him his beer.

The glance from Jacob was all Red needed. He had avoided looking at her all night. Red took a deep breath and walked slowly and directly for the new stranger. She had shot down so many men she had lost count. She didn't know how to go about this considering flirting was an art she had never mastered.

Tucking her purse under her arm she slowly peeled her gloves off. Her nails were chipped and her knuckles were scarred and bruised. The dress covered the marks on her ribs as well. She spent day and night fighting for cash to eat and to become better. Tonight was just a different style of fighting for her. Either way the goal was to win.

Just a few feet away from the target she got a better look at him. Older than her he was fit and wealthy. The tan was off putting. It was too cold to be out getting that much sun. He couldn't be working with his hands and wearing that suit. He had money. The question now was if he earned it or if he took it.

"Excuse me." A man cut her off from her target. At first she was too shocked to do the usual glare and blow off. "I was watching you and I just knew I had to ask you for a dance." The intruder was a good head taller than her. He stepped side ways blocking her when she tried to move around him.

"I'm sorry I don't dance with little boys and I already have my eyes on someone else." She thought that would be enough but the man grabbed her arm giving her a playful smile.

She felt her fist clench. She could see Jacob shaking his head at her. "What makes you think I'm little toots?"

Red forced a smile. She grabbed the mans cheap jacket and pulled him closer to her. She kept her eyes locked on the man Jacob had motioned her to. She knew he could hear their conversation. She didn't want him leaving before she could talk to him.

"That was my nice way of telling you to get lost. Since that didn't work I'll go my usual route." She sneered and whispered. "Let go of me and walk away or I'll shove my gloves straight down your throat."

apparently the moron took to long for her because Red gave the man a strong punch in the gut. He hunched forward and she pretended to giggle and pat his back as if he'd just shared a joke with her. She'd moved quick and hoped no one had seen what she'd done.

She wanted a job on brute force not relations. The idea of flirting with the target had come and gone with that loser. She huffed and walked straight to him. "My name's Red, and I'd like to buy you a drink."

“That depends” Daruis remarked turning to look at her leaning against the bar to get a good look at her “you going to punch me as well if I take you up on the offer” He said running his eyes up and down her body.

He was impressed some thing that didn’t just happen. The girl handled her self-well… Better than even his sister might have she was a fighter that was plain as the eye could see. Sure she was dressed up real nice but the fire in her eyes was still there as was some of the noticeable bruising.

“Jacob go ahead and bring us our drinks” Daruis called out turning and nodding his head at the VIP room up top “follow me and drop the party girl shit you’re a fighter and as a fighter im interested in you” He said nodding at her to move with him as he walked up stairs. He noticed the thugs moving in to watch their back but paid them no mind instead opening the door and letting her into the top VIP section.

“Make your self comfortable my dear” He said going over to the couch and flopping down on it before kicking his boots up “why did you come up to me… Why did you really? I am curious”

Big Bad Wolf (closed)

Her Father had always told her the best way to lie was to mix in some truths. She was about blow this man sideways with some half truths.

Red tossed her purse and gloves on the table next to the sofa. She was a fighter but she was still a lady. She knew not to relax around anyone. She chose to sit on the couch with him but just on the edge out of reaching distance. She could close the gap quick if she had to fight but if he clocked her once there was no guarantee she could stay conscious.

"As I said before, My name's Red. A gentleman would offer his name. I promise not to get fresh if you promise to be a gentleman" Red crossed her legs her back rod straight as she stared her target down.

"Pretty things are expensive and a girl has needs Sir." Red paused as Jacob came in and put there drinks down. He was in more of a hurry to leave them then he had been to blow her off. He closed the door after himself. She was stunned how quiet it had gotten.

The walls had to be crazy thick to block out that crowd. it was nearing midnight and somewhere between partying and mourning someone had broken out the hard stuff and the crowd was loud. Red continued to talk while trying to be subtle and scope the room for exits.

"I've been fighting for my dinner and it's getting old. If I'm fighting for food I want it to be for steaks and chardonnay not potato's and cheap gin." All those things were true.

There was only the one door she could see so she turned her attention on the man before her. She didn't touch her drink she needed to be clear headed. She was having a hard time reading him and she didn't like it. His clothes and style said he was an earner his eyes and muscle said he was a taker.

To be both was deadly. She should know, she was. " I have some information on some recent problems the Wolf packs been dealing with." She licked her lips not ready to give up anything too important. "I give you some information and you give me a shot in the pit."

Red smiled suddenly thinking how proud her father would be for being pretty damn honest in that whole spin of things. The only thing she was asking this guy would be to believe she had valuable information and to tell her where to go to get the shit beaten out of her.

She wasn't stupid. Some enforcers got in because they were family, some got in because they bit and clawed their way there and some.... never made it any where ever again.

If she stumbled across a tryout she was asking to be gang banged and killed. If she had someone bring her in at least then she was guaranteed a one on one fight to show herself. There was no guarantee's the guy wouldn't be twice her size but that was something to worry about later. First was getting this guy to help her.

Daruis watched her the entire time noting and studying her. What he saw was impressive if not also a damn turn on. She was tough but classy a broad among broads if he had to reckon. She had the look of some one who could handle them self yet there was a sort of grunge there that could have meant she had a hard life. Daruis counted himself as a real people reader and the girl was giving him all the signs of a classic wannabee thug who had a hard life.

Yet there was some thing else there

It was the little things, the way she didn’t drink, the way she watched the exits. Things that suggested more than street smarts and instead some kind of training. There was also some thing……. familiar about her some thing he couldn’t place his finger on.

All in all he was the most intriguing thing he had found yet since he returned home

“I don’t know what wolf your talking bout” He finally said not touching his own drink and regarding her with his intensive eyes “but if I did I would say that your information would be worth a try out” He remarked getting up and pulling off his suit jacket.

“Your in luck” He said reaching out with his foot pushing the table and the chair away to make a rough space “You want a try out to be an enforcer for the wolf then you got it” He said cracking his knuckles and pushing up his sleeves revealing his arms as he flexed them.

“I will even give it to you free of charge” He remarked pulling off his gun holster and dropping it on the chair “you get one solid punch on me and you get the invite tomorrow for our little try out session bring your info then if you can get a good punch on me”

This....was not optimal.

Red managed a playful smile. Her mind was going through every horrendous outcome this could turn in to. The bastard hadn't even given her his name yet. Guess her daddy wouldn't be too proud after all. He was a man of action only when nesscary. He could talk any one into giving him what he wanted.

Red bent over slowly. Batting her eye lashes and slipping her heels off. She placed her hands on the couch slowly. She calmed her breathing knowing this might be her only chance. She pressed her bare feet into the carpet and pushed off the couch as quickly as possible.

Charging forward, fast and hard. Right shoulder strong and centered she aimed to have her whole body collide with his. Having come up from the couch she was still low. If she go to him she had the opportunity to knock him on his back. If she could get him on the ground she could pound his face in long before he could do her any harm.

Impressive

She made a show of slipping out of her heels trying to distract him. He noted it in her favor given that would have worked on most other men. He watched her carefully judging her even as his eyes looked at her impassively.

Then she made her move

She charged at him like a line baker taking him temporarily by surprise. It was a move he never would have expected and if he didn’t recover as fast as he did would have surely taken him to the ground.

Luckily he was well trained

He waited until the last minute and side stepped her. He reached out at the last minute catching her arms and tugging her into his arms.

“Good opening but a bit to slow” He whispered in her ear his tongue so close it barely grazed her ear “try again” He said laughing and pushing her aware still making no move to defend him self.

Red's body jerked back as he pushed her away. His tongue had made her skin burn. She wasn't one to mess with normally. But playing cat and mouse was the easiest way to get scratched by her.

She didn't talk or try and stall. He had size and experience on her. She charged forward this time stepping one foot up on to the table. She lifted her body up off the ground just enough to throw herself at him. She wasn't going to be able to knock him over this way but she was too close for him to dodge this time.

She brought her fist forward aiming to punch him with her whole body weight. She had to just land one punch. Even if he could grab her arm in time her knee could do some serious damage.

If she missed again her body was going for his chair and then he'd be fucked.

She was tenacious

He could tell his little lick on her had pissed her off. Good thought Daruis watching her back up lets see what happens when the cat claws some out.

She didn’t disappoint

She moved forward fast using the table to come at him with more force than she was capable. A punch like that would daze a man or even take him out and they would never see it coming with her. His lips curved in pleasure and he made no move to move instead bringing his hand up so she punched his hand.

He grabbed her hand and spun her throwing her onto the couch and chuckling “You’re a fire cat!” He said pleased “you have more than earned that invite and information” He told her grabbing a card out of his coat pocket and handing it to her.

“That time and that location tomorrow” He told her locking eyes with her “be there and don’t be late” He said pulling his coat back on and giving her the once over.

“Prove your worth and you might even meet that mysterious wolf you keep going on about” He said winking at her

LATER THAT NIGHT

The club had been in walking distance of Reds apartment but she had done a few circles to get home. She figured she was being overly paranoid but the last few days had been getting under her skin. She had to slip in through the back fire exit to get into her apartment building unnoticed.

It was a bad part of town and she liked to keep her head down. Slinking back when the sun was coming up wasn't going to do her any favors. Safely inside her apartment she locked the window she'd come in through. She checked the front door all three locks untouched. She went to the other two windows in her apartment and checked if they were secure too.

She kicked off her shoes and cursed when she saw how many rips her panty hose had. She hadn't planned on brawling or she'd have skipped that part of the ensemble. Getting into her bedroom she shut the door behind her. With no window she was immersed in darkness for just a moment.

IT felt freeing. Her eyes hurt and the silence was welcomed. She took a deep breath and flicked on her bedroom light. She locked her door and headed to her dresser. She rested her purse on top and began to strip.

She looked at herself in the mirror. She tossed her coat on the bed and took off her dress slowly. The bruises seemed to be healing well. She let it drop to the floor examining her back. 10 long scars criss crossed over her back. Coupled with the bruises it looked like she'd been through a war.

"Not bad Red." She said to herself peeling off her bra, panties, garter and stockings. She'd left her gloves at the club on accident. She was so angry she couldn't think straight. That man had toyed with her. She was certain he was setting her up. If she couldn't do any damage to him why would he want her working with him. He kept boasting that she may get to meet the wolf but she couldn't hold her breath. He was probably a no one to the higher ups.

Red went to her dresser again this time slowly pulling it away from the wall. Getting down on her knees she pried at the floor board beneath it. It came up easy and she pulled a decent sized cigar box out of it.

She yawned as she brought the box to her bed. She slid between the cool sheets before opening it. She pulled out pictures and letters. The last thing she pulled out was a badge. Running her thumb over the numbers she felt like her heart was in her throat. "I miss you daddy."

Red pulled out a picture of her when she was 8 wearing her fathers fedora while he pretended to let her hold his gun. Her momma had lost it on him that day. The next picture was the only one she had left of her mother. They did look identical. She'd look in the mirror and it would hurt seeing her reflection.

Her father, Detective Ryan hood, had been killed when she was 14. They played it off like a mugging gone bad. Her mother use to call him robbin hood and she'd call herself Maid Marian. Her name was actually Mary but she insisted on her husband calling her Marian. You couldn't find any one more in love than those two. Once her father was killed her mother committed sucide soon after.

Red pulled up her mothers sucide note. It was simple "I'm sorry Red. I was never good at being a mamma, you'll be better off with out me. Your daddy and I are going to continue our fairy tale in the after life."

She still didn't know how her mother could be more wrong. The foster system was so full she had been sent over state lines and some how fell through the cracks. Nearly 10 years later she was back and pissed as hell.

She'd tried college and even had a fiancé once. It all came crashing down when her fathers old partner showed at her wedding. He was dying and he wanted to do what was right by her. He'd given her some money and an envelope filled with her fathers notes and writtings about the Wolf. He confessed to being there the day the Wolf shot him down dead. His biggest regret was not getting him home to her momma.

The man had walked away thinking he had given her closure. She had taken the stuff got a cab and never looked back. That was 4 years ago. In that time she'd been training to fight with anyone that would show her. She had bought her background and kept her head low.

She spent days using the skills her father had taught her to tap wires and follow suspects. She lacked the finesse he had but she had a fury no one could hold a flame to. She had started sleeping with Vinny's son, Mack, a few months back in secret. He was arranged to be married and couldn't afford to get caught.

Their bedroom talk was filled with his rants about having to do guard duty. She'd been in the bathroom cleaning up from a quickie when the jewelry store had gotten busted in to. She move once she heard the gunshots. She had listened to their conversation and had picked up a lot of things the Wolf pack would love to know.

It wasn't until they were gone and she tried to leave that she knew something was wrong. It had taken all of her body strength to squeeze out the bathroom door. Mack was dead and propped against it.The stupid oaf and gotten himself shot trying to guard her. She had fled just fast enough to avoid getting caught by the pack.

The try outs were her shot. She could grease some palms with the information she'd gotten. She'd stick around to take down the guys that hat shot Mack. Then she'd take down the man that had broken her family. The first day she looked at her fathers notes on the man she knew it would be a long rough ride. Now, sitting right at the top of the hill looking at the track sprawled out before her she was scared and excited.

The wolf was going to die.

FEW BLOCKS DOWN

Daruis shut the door behind him and flexed his hand wincing a bit at the dull throb.

“girls got more of a punch then she gives herself credit for” Daruis murmured shaking his hand a bit before going over to the window. The neon purple light pulsated casting the room in shadows as he looked out the street. No one was onto him yet but a cold trickle of sweat still passed him by as if some one was walking on his grave. He supposed some one some where was as his enemies in this town were more fierce than he gave himself credit for.

“Cant believe I am back here” He murmured snorting and turning going over to the beat up old fridge. He popped open the hatch and sighed noting his favorite beer was at least in there as per his instructions.

“Simple pleasures in life” He said taking it and grabbing the case file his sister gave him. He flopped down on the couch flicking on the overhead light and taking a sip as he cracked open his latest issue.

The thieves were pretty smart even if they were copy cats. Looking at their hits was like looking into a flash back of his life before he became the Wolf back then he was a fighter looking to get his sister and him out of the slums. His mother was a part time jeweler who had big dreams of opening her own store and their father…. Well he was gone. Daruis was the one who kept them all fed but he wanted more, more for his family and more for her.

Then the opportunity presented it self

Smash and grabs as long as you were in and out and meticulous you had little to fear. Daruis had it all down to a science drilling his men relentlessly and making sure every one played their part to a T. He never left a speck of evidence in his wake and kept his hits so varied that no one could ever establish a pattern. The money netted bought his ma her first jewelry store, he and his sister an education, and eventually his name The Wolf.

And here it seemed some one was trying to repeat his success

He gave the file one last looksee and shut it placing it on the table top. He starred up sipping the remainder of his beer and watching the paint peel strangely enough his mind wasn’t on the crew or Vinny but instead on the girl he met today.

And what she would do tomorrow

THE NEXT DAY

HE nodded at Vinny and walked forward dressed down in simple sweats and a white t shirt. They exchanged formalities as Vinny brought the men forward who were supposedly “the best” in the city in fighting. Daruis didn’t see any strong contenders as of yet but then again SHE wasn’t here.

He glanced at his watch before turning to the others “a few more minutes then were going to begin I suggest you all warm up” He said giving them each a serious glare.

"But I'm already warmed up coach." Red said sauntering in behind him. She couldn't make it through the front. She had the card but when she couldn't give a name of who sent her they blew her off. She was going to wait to mention she had smashed in a window of their back office to make it in.

Red walked forward into the light facing the row of competition before her. She had been waiting and watching each of them. There was only 4 that were on her skill level. She knew and she knew what her strategy was.

Her dark hair was tied into a tight braid. She was dressed similar to the men but had on a few extra layers to hold down the ladies. The men that didn't cat call her flexed their muscles. 'that's right boys' she thought to herself. This little girls going to kick your ass.

She stood next to the man most her equal. She winked at him and he gave her a soft smile. He had to know how this worked too. They had slots to fill in the pack. The more slots there were the more people that got to leave alive. Neither he nor Red would waste energy on each other if this was a free for all. They'd go for the weaker ones first and take out as many contenders as they could.

You weren't a brawler because you liked to fight. You were a brawler because you were a survivor. Red felt confident no one had a stronger urge to survive than her.

She looked up at the man who had gotten her in, mostly. She liked him better dressed down. His muscular arm were much more evident. He had seemed big in his suit but seeing more of his flesh he was like a rock. She was wondered if he even registered that punch she gave him.

She felt herself snarl slightly. He was a cocky bastard and she'd love to sucker punch him just once. She imagined laying him out and she felt herself smile. She could imagine doing other things to him on his back as well.

She looked away not wanting to get caught staring. She couldn't believe it but the jerk knew how to get under her skin. She just wondered if that would translate into her getting under his sheets.

“And that makes every one” Daruis said giving no remark to her coming in from behind or her word. Inwardly however he was very pleased even if she was almost late. He watched impassively as she joined the line up not really caring about the others. Sure they were all thought bastards but he had a feeling they didn’t quite stack up to her. There was one who might be able to but I could tell by the way they were eying each other that they both knew the score.

Interesting

“Alright listen up” Daruis said his voice coming out loudly in the large boxing room “you’re here because a certain some one is looking for people who can keep the peace in the town some one who can guard his interest and look out for him that’s why you are all here today to see if you got what it takes”

He ignored most of them and looked directly at her “first in the ring is you two” He said pointing out the guy she was eyeing “lets see which one of you two wants it more” he said narrowing his eyes slightly before stepping back and pulling apart the ring for them to step in.

The fight took a minute to start and a minute to end. After piling in they had shaken hands. They stood further apart neither being able to reach each other. He had distance on her being a good 5 inches taller. He had paired her against her only real competition.

She knew several things. One, she had underestimated how high up her mystery man was if he was running the fight. Two, if she didn't close the gap the man before her could take her down with one punch. Three, No one wanted this more than her.

Red charged the sound coming from her mouth like a panther before striking its kill. She came at the man as she had the night in the club with Darius. Running low he just barely missed her in a punch. Things worked out better this time for her and she knocked the man on his back.

Throwing herself on him she sat on his chest and preceded to beat his face. She was relentless with each punch. She felt the skin on her knuckles split as it collided with his teeth. She could hear screaming from far off but it was muffled by the blood pounding in her ears.

She felt four strong arms rip her body off her opponent. "That's crap! you can't stop me in the middle of a fight." She screamed at Darius

"I think the bitched killed him." Said one of the men who had pulled her off. Reds breast heaved with her surging adrenaline. Her hands had endured so much pain they were numb. She watched as one guy leaned down and she saw the bloody mess that was her opponet's face. She hadn't even realized how much damage she had done.

"I think I got a pulse!!" The two men dragged her opponent out of the ring either to get him help or to ditch his body. Red didn't feel anything but numb. She may have just killed a man and she couldn't register that. Her hate was fueling her beyond all logic. She turned to Darius her chin high. "Who's next coach."

“No one” Daruis said l glancing at the man being carted off and then back at her “you want in huh” He said eyeing her “more than any one else here” He concluded.

“every one else hit the showers” He said as Vinny dragged the broken man off “you got to much anger kid” Daruis said shaking his head and stepping up and starring her down.

“I like you I do and you can fight hell you can fight but if your going to be in and an enforcer we need you to be making examples of these guys not killing them and so far I have seen a lot of rage” He remarked eyeing her up and down.

“So here’s how it works you have info the wolf wants and you got skills so your riding with me from now on you get paid well and legitament with a four o one K and every thing you do well you rise up you rise up hell you may even meet the wolf” He said chuckling

“but you pay your dues first and you listen to me you keep that anger in check and who knows what could happen do we understand each other?” He asked getting in her face daring her to hit him.

She wanted to hit him. Her jaw clenched and she nodded slowly. She looked away. His mouth was too dangerously close to hers. She knew it would be a while before she met the wolf she wasn't stupid.

She had waited this long she could wait a bit longer. She held up her hands. "I need cleaner or I'm getting fighters bite." She eyed her new boss up and down regarding him with respect, arousal and disdain all at the same time.

"My anger fuels me. It doesn't drive me, know that fact." She held her hand out for him to shake. "The name's Red, and I'm your new brawler." Her eyes bore into him daring him to deny her his name again.

“And my name is Daruis” He said taking her hand and giving it a firm shake before dropping it and jerking his thumb back towards the shower.

“Go shower when your done you can meet me at my car out in front im going to take you over to your new home” He said grabbing his own coat and sliding it on. He didn’t give her another glance but walked out facing the cold and sliding against his car as he pulled out a smoke.

He light it and used it to keep himself warm blowing out smoke as he waited for her to join him. He heard her claim about the rage but he wasn’t sure. He knew rage pretty well and out took a long time to master and control it. The girl would learn if she didn’t however he reasoned once again thinking about her fighting prowess. He was more than excited to spend time with her which was more than he could say about any one else.

Darius? Red turned that name over in her brain as She showered. It was a nice name. She threw some alcohol over her knuckles and bandaged them up quick. She took her time getting dressed. She'd earned it.

When she walked out she had knee high boots on a dress and her famous red coat. It was an expensive coat but old so it fit in just about everywhere. She had a fedora on with her wet hair in a tight bun beneath it. She'd even thrown on some makeup for the he'll of it.

She walked slowly up to Darius a different feeling coming over her. She kept her eyes on him as her breath came out in small puffs "take me home." She meant to where he had intended her to stay but the way she said it sounded like she meant his home.

She was in his pack. She was on her way to getting what she finally wanted. All her fighting and training and she was in. Her hands ached but her heart felt slightly lighter. She'd spent a good bit of her rage on that man's face.

Now all she had left over was relief and even some excitement. She moved close to him. She felt like she was reaching her hand out to touch a wild animal. Her breath came out so close now she felt the vapors might touch him. She whispered "a gentleman would get the door for a lady."

She waited with her hands in her pockets since she'd lost her gloves. It worked in her favor as she was pretty sure that had been the only thing that kept her from touching him.

He snorted noticing her flirting. It made his cock throb in his pants but he ignored it… for now. He was interested matter of fact more interested than he cared to admit. There was a sort of electricity between them a connection he was having a hard time ignoring.

She was also sexy as fuck

“Of course” He said leaning in their lips almost touching as he reached back and popped open her passenger door “after you” He said his lips moving inches from hers as he opened the door and then let her in. He shut it behind her and tightened up his coat walking over to the other side of the sedan before stepping in.

“I am sure you already guessed but your new job comes with new digs” He said pulling out the folder and handing it to her “your new house and all the details its not the ritz but for a dame like you I am sure you will get by” He said driving over to her new place.

“also there’s a cell phone in their” He said glancing at her his eyes running up and down her frame “your expected to have it on and to answer if I or any one else calls” He explained.

She nodded and said nothing as they drove. She didn't know what she expected to happen but she thought she had felt something. When she was younger her fiance had chased her.

Now she was bitter and cold and horrible at flirting. She didn't look at the folder and she pocketed the phone. It didn't matter what the house looked like or where it was located. She didn't need to know the number to her phone because she had no one to share it with.

At one point Red let her eyes drift to her driver. Damn him. She'd just go home and take care of things herself. She rubbed her hands together then crossed her arms over herself. Closing ranks and putting her walks back up quickly.

He turned sensing some tension and hurt feelings. He cocked his head in confusion before sighing and reaching out to take her hand.

“You should really invest in some gloves” He told her covering her hand with his own and rubbing it “you know I may have been hard on you but I do think you’re fantastic when it comes to fighting I haven’t seen any one fight like that in a long time” He said trying to be friendly as he continued to rub her hand.

“you’re a deadly combination beauty and brawn” He said glancing over at her as he turned the corner

She felt her body stiffen. She hadn't expected his kindess. She had just felt rejected sexually. She didn't need the pep talk or the hand holding. She didn't draw her hand away though as his were quiet warm. How could one person make so much heat?

She shook her head then rolled her eyes "don't go soft on me now Darius." She squeezed his hand and gave him a smirk "I wouldn't want what I want if I thought you'd go easy on me."

She let go of his hand and returned to looking out the window. She wouldn't out right ask him for it but she didn't play games. Her life was so goal driven she didn't have time for that. She also knew if she didn't keep it fucking and fighting with Darius she was going to fuck up and fall in love.

“Ah” He said looking at their hands before she let it go. He realized what she was implying the same time a shiver went through his spine at the thought of it. He bit his lip looking at her one more time before he finally started heading to her new place.

“You fight that well under the sheets then?” He asked casually glancing over at her putting one hand on the wheel as he reached over with his other hand. He placed it on her leg and squeezed.

“Or am I reading this wrong and your not one to mix business with pleasure” He asked pulling up to her new house and turning to look at her one eye brow raised.
