Cassandra was thirty, and her biological clock was ticking. She'd just ended a year long relationship that had been going nowhere, he'd been too busy with work to really make it even a relationship. That was a story for another time, she'd picked up a lover afterwards, which was an intense entirely physical relationship. It helped her recover and got her to think about what she really wanted with life. It only took a few months for her to get back on track, and when she got an unexpected job promotion, she found herself in a place where she could have a family without needing a husband.

Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how one looked at it, her lover had a vasectomy and was a short term solution to a long term desire. So she bought a house, with a little help from her loving and wealthy grandma. Her payments were almost asurdly low because her down payment was over 20% of the total price. She broke it off before moving in, and now was starting over in a new town, further away from the interference of her family. They didn't understand why she'd broken up with Wade, as she'd been very happy with him. She felt they didn't need to know.

So here she was at her doctors, ready to discuss her options. She listened to the risks of getting pregnant at her age, having twins, nutritional advice. The one thing the doctor didn't discuss was conception. Cassandra hadn't quite decided which way to go yet, she had a few exes who would gladly impregnate her, but strings would be attached. She didn't want to go the one night stand route, she wanted to know about her child's fathers genetic make up. However a sperm bank seemed so impersonal.

As she ate lunch she wondered about what her child might be like, undoubtedly her musing was stirred by the fact that she was just about midcycle and could concieve anytime in the next five days.

OOC so a past lover, or past boyfriend could come along, a friend offering their spouse/boyfriend (as sperm donor but he wants to do the deed perhaps) or some other option I have not considered

OOC...Brandon Evans: age 33, 6' 2" 190 lb, blue eyes, black curly hair, very athletic, well muscled but not bulky.

IC. Brandon was driving home, the car in front was quite a distance ahead of him. not being in any hurry, he just cruised taking his time. The traffic was very light, very few cars on either lane. The sky was getting dark very quickly he noticed. Looks like we're getting some rain he said to himself. Just than the radio announcer came on. warning driver that very heavy rain is on it's way.

The rain started coming down very heavy 2 minutes after the announcement on the radio. The windshield wipers had a hard time keeping up with the rain visibility was poor. cars were veering left and right. Brandon slowed his car so he wouldn't windup in the ditch.

No sooner he slowed his car down. The incoming car veered into the incoming cars hitting the car ahead of him. The driver as he noted earlier was a woman. "Oh! My God." he said, as her car seamed to be out of control. She tried very hard to keep her car on the road away from the incoming cars. the car went into a skid and was hit on the back of the driver door. the impact pushed some of the metal cutting into the tire. her car spun around facing the wrong way in the wrong lane.

Brandon slowed his car to a stop on the side of the road and watched horrified. He was sure the woman was a goner. The cars behind him instead of stopping, they tried to go around her, as her car spun due to the back tire, was nicked on the back right bumper sending the car into the right ditch. The car come to rest on it's right side.

Brandon called 911 and gave the operator the location, than drove right up there to look at the car. The car was totaled as far as he could tell. Rain or no rain he had to check on the driver to see if she was still alive. When he got to her car and looked through the car window. He saw she still had her seat belt on. He opened the door to see if she was still alive.

He heard her moaning. "Lady can you hear me he called to her." She made soft sound and tried to move. Don't try to move yet he told her.The ambulance is on it's way. He got inside her car through the broken rear door window. He gently moved her hair out of the way to look at her face, it was bloody but didn't see any bad cuts. "Can you talk," he ask her. "I think so," she said softly. are you hurting bad anywhere. "Yes my head I think, it hurts."

"Look I hear the ambulance don't try to move ok, just wait till they get here. I'm sure the cops will be here to. I'll be here to answer any questions they may have. My name is Brandon by the way."

"Thank you," she said softly.

Cassandra's mind went blank as the car spun off the road, she remembered focusing intently on avoiding other cars but suddenly her car stopped and her world faded to gray. When she was aware again, her windshield was destroyed, completely smashed in and cracked. She felt alright but suddenly the door swung open and someone was asking questions.

Her scalp felt warm and wet, and she realized she was bleeding somewhere, but she knew head wounds tended to bleed profusely. She was thanking god she'd been wearing her seat belt even as she wondered about internal damage. She managed to thank whoever had found her. She felt woozie, as she heard the sirens of the ambulance, the world came back into focus. The light seemed very bright as she was carefully pulled out of her car.

She managed to answer all their questions, eventually becoming weary of their repeatitive nature. They cleaned her scalp wound and were insisting she go to the hospital. She didn't seem to have much choice, her car was totaled, and she dreaded the thought of arranging a pick up, her family lived a couple hours away.

Brandon waited by the ambulance as they got her out of her car, then listened to all the questions they asked her.

The cops showed up a couple minutes later and asked if anyone actually saw what happened. Brandon stepped forward and said he saw the whole thing.

He recounted all, starting with the announcer on the radio warning drivers of the coming rain. They wanted to know who hit who first. He pointed to the car responsible. Satisfied with all the answers he gave to their questions, one of the officer asked him if he would produce some identification for the records. "Of course." replied Brandon. He pulled his wallet out of his back pocked, pulled out his driver license. and handed it to the officer asking all the questions. After taking down the information, the officer handed his license back to him.

"Thank you," said the officer. "You're welcome," he said to the officer. Both officers walked to the ambulance, the woman was already in the ambulance. they spoke to her for a couple minutes than left.

Brandon went to the ambulance and asked the woman how she was doing. She looked at him for a moment. "You're the man that came to my rescue aren't you?" She asked. Yes, he said with a smile. "Are you ok, You're lucky to be alive. He said to her.

My Name is Brandon, if there is anything I can do for you, please don't hesitate to ask. "Thank you, she said as she extended her hand. "I'm Cassandra." He shook her hand gently.

Her car was a complete loss and somewhere in the mess a tow truck was being hooked up to her car. "I have some packages in my car, and would you mind emptying the trunk? The rest can go with the car for now." Her head felt a little clearer, so much for schedules. "I just hope they'll let me go before having to eat hospital food." She chuckled and the EMT's took her blood pressure again, checking to see if it was going down the way it should.

"Nothing like a near death experience to put your life in focus," she said with a smile.

Brandon smiled and looked at her. noticing her beautiful face now that it was cleaned of blood." That is very true." He concurred at her remark. "Nothing like a near death experience to put your life in focus,"

"No not at all. Cassandra." You just stay put. I'll take care of all your belongings." He said her. He walked to the tow truck and got the packages out of the car, took then in to his than got the other things out of the trunk, and placed them in his car trunk.

"I have all your stuff in my car Cassandra. I'll drive with you to the hospital if they have to take you there.

She watched and waited, with a little cajoling she agreed that she should go to the hospital. However she didn't need the ambulance and certainly didn't want to pay for such an expensive trip if she could avoid it. She had reasonable health insurance, last thing she needed was for the cost to increase.

She wasn't quite sure how she asked, but somehow she ended up in Brandon's car. It was a nice drive to the hospital, which was luckily not too crowded by others who were hampered by the weather.

She didn't realize how light headed she felt until she sat down in the hospital waiting room.

Brandon was glad when the ambulance people told her she could ride with him. unknown to Cassandra. Brandon had asked driver of the ambulance if Cassandra was ok to ride in his car. The driver said she was. The thing was that he was surprised by it.

Sure she was a beautiful woman and all that, but that didn't mean anything. He was just being a good Samaritan and she did need the help. Brandon did say anything during the drive. He knew that she was pretty shook up and she need to relax and rest.

Brandon sat right next to her in waiting room.

It was hard to believe she was back at the hospital, though she'd been at the women's clinic across the street just earlier that day. She worried about if this would cause a delay in her intention to create a child. She finally got a doctor to look at her, she disliked being touched by a stranger, but she had no choice. She was relieved when he did not make her disrobe. He told her to watch for bruises, have a follow up with her regular doctor and to avoid alcohol for 24 hours, and take painkillers as needed.

She was glad to be out of there, she desperately wanted a shower, as there was still some dust/grim on her. She was also somewhat hungry as it was getting late in the evening. She had to call her car insurance, and wondered where to order food from, while Brandon was nice, she couldn't rely on him for transportation forever.

He was patiently waiting and she plastered on a smile, said she was fine and asked if he'd mind taking her home. "Can I get you anything?" she offered.

Brandon waited for Cassandra even so he didn't care much for Hospitals. He hadn't made any plans to do or go anywhere.

When Cassandra came back after being assorted somewhere to be checked out. she had a smile on her face. He didn't know if she had good news or was meant for him being that he was patiently waiting for her. He smiled back as she asked if he wouldn't mind taking her home. "No I don't mind it at all." He replied to her. He didn't tell her he lived just 5 minutes from her after they got
to her place.

Brandon drove her home and thought that she would say thank you for all he didn't and was it. He was surprised when she asked him in, He didn't tell her that he lived just 5 minutes from her after they got to her place. Once inside he nodded his head yes. when she asked if she could get him anything. He said. "Only if you have something too."

Brandon didn't really know why. He found himself liking her, the fact that she was a very attractive woman didn't hurt.

Cassandra

It felt really odd to say it, as it seemed sexual somehow, but she managed. "I'd like to take a shower first, then I could really use something to eat. You could bring my stuff up while I'm getting cleaned up, then we can figure out what/where to eat." She said it matter of factly, like a simple plan of action, as if there was nothing odd about having him around while she was showering.

Brandon did a double take at Cassandra as she went up the stairs. He didn't know if he heard her right or not. He went over every word
she said. "I'd like to take a shower first, then I could really use something to eat." that much made sense. Than. You could bring my
stuff up while I'm getting cleaned up? "What did she mean." He wondered. "She can't be in the habit of asking strangers to go up while
she's taking a shower." At least a couple things made sense to him. Like eating what or where. that part sounded good to him it had been
a very long day, even more so for her.

"Oh! Well, he thought as he picks up her stuff and heads up the stairs. He didn't kn"ow what room he was to put the stuff. He walked slow
listening for the sound of the shower. He saw one door ajar and poked his head in. The sound of the shower came from inside. He looked
around and noticed it was a bedroom. He puts her stuff down and waited by the door.

She quickly turned on the shower and waited for the water to heat up. She slipped out of her clothes quickly and was glad the bathroom door had a lock on it. The shower was warm and relaxing and she lathered up quickly. She felt a lot better and as she couldn't really hear much going on opted to wash her hair while she was in there. She turned the shower off and noticed how quiet it was, she wondered if he was that slow hauling her stuff up or prowling her fridge. She had a big screen TV and half expected him to be sacked out on couch flipping channels. She wrapped herself up in one of her huge towels before unlocking door and checking her bedroom.

Her stuff was there, he wasn't, it would have been rather awkward had he been sitting on her bed. She noticed the door was still open a bit and nudged it closed before pulling out clothes. She almost picked out pajamas, but she wasn't quite comfortable enough to see him braless and suggestive of a hot night in.

"You doing okay?" she asked as she pulled a t-shirt over her head and was fully dressed.

Brandon was leaning against the door when he heard the bathroom door open. He was about to look in to the bedroom but thought better of it. "I better not, just in case she's not wearing much." He could hear her moving around the room, he wondered if she was fresh out of the shower or she was dressed.

"Yes. I'm doing ok here." He answered from outside her bedroom. No know whether she was dress or otherwise he stood where he was. and waited for her to open the door is she was ready.

She tousled her wet hair, trying to figure out what to do with the soft silken strands. She twisted it back and clipped it up before opening the door. "Would you rather eat out or?" she left it open ended, she didn't feel like going out, but wasn't sure about being alone with him in her current state. Any other time she would have flirted with him, he was attractive and nice.

He looked at her appreciatively. Her was still very damp, her tee shirt showed her firm breast to good advantage, and nipples tried to poke through the material.

"I am ok with any suggestions you like to make. It's really up to you. you're the one that went through a horrid time."

He thought for minute, before adding. He thought that perhaps she was being nice for his help, and he didn't like to impose on her.

"I was none to happy to help and if you rather rest and relax we can still do this another time if you like." He said to her smiling.

"Honestly," she paused before continuing, "I don't really feel up to going out, but I don't want to be alone right now." She felt extremely vulnerable, he was after all a complete stranger, though his altruistic actions gave her a small sense that he wasn't a serial killer or rapist. It was a fragile sense of comfort, "Do you like chinese? There's a great place that has reliable delivery," she rambled. She ran her hands up and down her arms, she was shivering for some reason.

Brandon wasn't totally sure if he should stay. He didn't feel uncomfortable or anything like that. He just wasn't sure about Cassandra.

"That's ok." He responded. "We don't have to go out. I didn't have any plans to do or go anywhere, I don't mind keeping you company. I was probably going to just sit home watching TV anyway." He said with a half smile.

"Yes. Chinese is fine," he answered when she said Chinese food.

He didn't know if she felt cold or nervous, he noted that she was shivering slightly as she ran her hands up and down her arms.

Brandon got up and went to sit next to her feeling a little concerned.

"Cassandra please don't think me forward. He said as he touched her arm. "I think you might be still under shock a little. You're shivering, can I get you something?"

She sank into a chair near the phone, wrapped herself in a nearby blanket. "It's been a long evening," she had called her insurance company while her shower was warming up. So at least that was taken care of, "I'll order the food, then I could use some hot chocolate."

She had them on speed dial and ordered a variety without thinking. She hung up, flicked the TV on, stood and headed to get her checkbook on her way to the kitchen. "I'll start the water boiling," she felt like she was rambling, but she was on unsure footing. They weren't exactly dating, and they weren't exactly friends. Plus the strange musings of whether he had chest hair and if so how much were not helping her unsteady mind.

She managed to fill a teapot with water and set it on the stove without trouble. She turned the heat on and got out the hot cocoa, her hand shaking slightly.

Brandon fallowed her around with his eyes wondering why she wanted him to stay. He didn't really mind it. He nodded his head
yes. when she said "It's been a long evening. He smiled and said That should make you feel a little better. He answered. after she
said. "I'll order the food, then I could use some hot chocolate."

Brandon didn't know if she was still a bit in shock or she was nervous, as she was rambling a little as she moved from one place
to another. Like turning the TV on or to go into the kitchen to boil the water for her hot chocolate.

Brandon tried not to be obvious by staring at her. She sure was a very attractive woman. He couldn't see much as he looked towards the kitchen, but he could hear the sounds of the tap running and what sounded like a pot.

He began to wonder what she looked like under robe. Her legs looked great the little that he could see as she walked and her
opened up to her knees. He imagined she had nice breasts. She wore what looked like a tee shirt underneath the robe. But judging
the their bounce she didn't wear a bra.

He looked up at her as she was walking into the living room
