My wife just told me that I have given her the BEST anniversary she's ever had. I got her the jewelry and two tickets to see Prince. She is one of his biggest fans and I know a couple of his roadies, so we're going backstage. I also got her a couple of his guitar picks and a signed cd of The Most Beautiful Girl In The World. He also included a poem. The last two she won't get until next Tues.(our actual anniversary) and of course I'll make sure to get the flowers of her choice.

Here's the kicker. Yes this is the BEST anniversary ever, but it is only #2 for us. I found that amusing, and YES I am the only husband she's ever had;).

Anyway, what is your BEST anniversary ever?

It's interesting, now that I reflect on all of my past anniversaries, all 11 of them. He has been here for most of them, absent for four of them. Go Army.

In the beginning he went all out in getting me the most wonderfullest bestest mostest romanticestest things he could do/afford. I've received jewelry, a truck once, books, flowers, poetry, a pistol, and a lovely set of Edelbrock Hedders.

The best anniversary I've had, though, was this last one. I received a card that he'd carried around for 6 months (he starts looking for the perfect card about 3 days after our anniversary), some books, and a nice dinner at KFC. I gave him a two hour long totally naked massage.

When we were all done, right before we were going to fall asleep, he held me close to him and kissed my forehead and said, "I love you, you're my better half. Everyday is an anniversary to me." StudMuffinly eloquence. He can't put what he means into words sometimes, and that frustrates him. Sometimes, though, the simplest things mean the most. To him, everyday is a celebration of our marriage and everyday he celebrates it, even when we're angry, sad, or separated.

LOL, anniversary???? What's that??? MY hubby and I have been married three years, and the Army has sent him to the field. So he missed our last two anniversaries. But I would have to say that this year was the sweetest. He went to the field on our anniversary<Sept. 6> but the Friday before he went out<while I was working> and bought me some Godiva Chocolate truffle chocolate milk mix, as well as some truffles and some Dove chocolate. Then he came and picked me up from work, and he had them sitting in the front seat. I swear I almost started bawling. He's always doing things like this. ALways when I least expect them.

Never really has a best one, but all eleven of them have been nice but this one was funny.

My honey has not one romantic bone in his boy so on our fifth anniversary I bought him roses. He wanted to know why he got roses, I turned and said "We have been married FIVE years I thought it was about time one of us got flowers."

He came home the next day with a dozen roses for me and that is the one and only time I have ever got flowers from him.

Not to be a downer, but it would have to have been my third anniversary, when I sat on the sofa, drinking wine, deciding that enough was enough and it was time to get a divorce.

My husband was off visiting "friends."

It really wasn't a bad anniversary, all told. On our first anniversary I was sick to my stomach (pregnant), and on our second we fought.

This is going to sound odd

Despite the fact I've been married twice, I've only had one anniversary. I got rid of the Ex before a year was up and my DH and I have only been married for a year and a half.

We had a nice time on our only one to date, we spent the weekend in Charlottesville, VA sans children.

Mine have all been great... I spend the time with the wife and only the wife.. the I make sure she feels like she is the center of the universe.

...Thinking back...

Well, one guy I was dating knew that I loved the color green, and things like frogs and turtles... (This was only like a 6 mo. anniversary..lol) Anyway, I got him a carton of Marlboros and he got me a Turtle Wax road cone. lol It was cool too...green, and it had a lil pic of the TW turtle on it. :)

For a 3 year anniv., my boyfriend throughout high school gave me a promise ring and perposed to me. (Thank God that one never went through! lol)

I think the best anniversary experience I've ever had (wasn't even mine) was when I gave my parents a surprise party for their 25th. :)
