Jean had been through a lot in her life all because of her abilities that she was hiding from, she never knew what to do about it. She could never run from it, she had seen things in her dreams that scared her almost to death. And right now? She couldn't hide what she was even the others were afraid of her. Hiding from there eyes sometimes she would make them not see her, and other times she just didn't care to much. Right now though a lot had changed because of the events she had to protect Charles from. Because she had to help him from the clutches of the mutant that almost took him. But deep down she would never have allowed it, a hidden message while he was being told what to said to her. She was so afraid of failing and she just couldn't say no to him, he was a very good friend. But while she protected him from being taken over something happened.

Her powers seemed to have gotten stronger and she was afraid to use her abilities, last time she used them she was helping Eric rebuild the school and ever since then she had been to afraid to use her god given powers. The dreams stopped but knowing the future is what really scared her. Thankfully she had no other dreams no other visions, just the same old dreams. But she was more at peace some how. She was still feared but not as badly as she use to be which was a very good thing, right now however she just wanted to rest her powers and her body. She kinda hid from everyone and didn't want to come out of her room, she would be seen all the time sitting by her open window the kids still feared her but she was a xman now and didn't know what kind of use she would be to anyone. Right now she just wanted to be alone, but was thinking of charles.

Charles exhaled softly, frowning slightly as he did paperwork, very aware of the few students, including young Ororo Munroe and Jean Grey, both of whom, like himself, were healing from Apocalypse's ruthless assault, much like the world itself was. Fortunately, it seemed highly unlikely that Apocalypse would return; it was fortunate that Eric saw how dark and dangerous mutants could be, which had seemingly dissuaded him from his vendetta against humanity despite the obvious fact that a mutant, posing as a human, had started him on said vendetta. His fingers brushed over the pad of his wheelchair, which was made of composite materials, primarily several different kinds of dense plastics that they had, in fact, gotten patents for, though some had protested that "muties would be stealing our money". He did not really care about nor need the money, really.

A deeply tanned youth staggered through the Mojave Desert, wearing tattered jeans, sneakers that were all but falling apart, and shreds of what could be loosely claimed to be a shirt. His coppery skin contrasted sharply with the two toned sapphire blue and darker slate blue hair that fell to just beneath his shoulders. His eyes were almost closed and blood trickled from the soles of his sneakers where holes and cracks were obvious. "This... will... not... stop... me," he whispered hoarsely. Very little, in fact, could, that he'd found, even if he was only fifteen. Starvation was very unpleasant, but didn't kill him. Dehydration was painful and annoying, but couldn't really harm or kill him. Blades could penetrate his skin and draw blood, but it usually only pissed him off, and usually ended up pushing themselves out hours later even if they broke off beneath his skin. His breathing was short and raspy as he dropped to one knee. He could feel something sustaining him, but couldn't name what it was. "Can't... stop," he muttered. His eyes drifting almost closed, unaware that his mind lanced out with a telepathic beacon obvious to any telepath within a thousand miles.

Jean was looking outside thinking about what ever happened to the good old days when life seemed so easy but now everything was hard. Right now however she sensed something, her eyes scanned the land around and her eyes narrowed she stood up while she scanned the area and just shrugged and sighed a little bit, she didn't know what to do with herself. She had been getting a lot of head aches but she just dealt with it best she could. She kept thinking about what happened to Charles he was older that much she knew but she felt something like a connection when she helped him mentally to make sure that son of a bitch didn't hurt him. He had taken a lot of strength to call her when he needed her the most. And was happy to help once he told her to trust herself and do what needed to be done so she did though she never wanted to do it again.

She went downstairs as the feeling in the back of her mind got stronger she decided to see how Charles was doing, she knocked on his door knowing that no one was in but him. But she did it just to show her manners, she opened up the door and sighed was going to take getting use to how he lost the hair, she hoped he was taking it and everything else okay, though he looked good to her she crossed her arms and silently sighed. Perhaps if she had acted sooner this wouldn't have happened to be fucked in the head and almost taken over had to have been scary. But she cleared her throat and didn't know what to say but she smiled happily at him since she was truly happy to see him. She couldn't help but wonder what was next.'

"Hey Charles How.." She was about to ask how he was when she felt it, she grunted as she stumbled to his desk one hand on the desk the other on her head hearing and sensing the one that she felt earlier but thought it was in her head. She knew someone was in trouble but had no idea who it was, mixed emotions was something she was full of.

"DId you sense that?"

Charles looked up with a small, shy smile as Jean entered before he blinked, sensing a tickle in the back of his mind as Jean opened her mouth. "We can no more alter the past than predict the future, Jean. Hmmm, what is that? It feels like someone in pain, though for them to be felt from the west," he said quietly before he backed the wheelchair from behind the desk. "Cerebro should be able to pick up whatever we are feeling, I am sure," he spoke telepathically and quietly to Jean. He knew young Scott and Alex, along with Kurt, were at school, while he knew Jean had decided not to go to school at least for a few more days. They soon reached an elevator that lowered them into a secondary subbasement level where Cerebro was housed as well as several medical examination rooms and changing rooms if the need arose for trouble, though that was unlikely, he suspected. It was, however, always a possibility.

His eyes snapped open, revealing crystalline sapphire irises that faded to a deep amethyst color as well as fading from a clear crystalline sapphire to a deep crystalline cobalt blue closer to his pupils. "Ugh... have... to find," he whispered hoarsely before his ears twitched at the cawing of vultures as he looked back to where his adoptive family had been left. His eyes widened slightly as he saw the several smudges of dark smoke in the distance before he kicked off the useless shoes, ignoring how his bloody feet were exposed and stinging extremely painfully with the air and tiny sand grits within the breeze as it kicked up as his fists clenched. Unfortunately, if what he suspected had happened actually occurred, it wouldn't make a difference to turn back. He tore his gaze away as his hands clenched tightly into fists, not noticing the tendrils of pale purplish blue energy trailing over his skin before he punched a nearby boulder. Unexpectedly, especially to him, the boulder detonated as if a bomb had exploded against it, hurling him back into a set of cacti, making him yell as the sharp needles penetrated his skin and drew blood. His eyes widened at the heavily fractured boulder, which had easily been a good seven or eight hundred pounds of solid stone, specifically red sandstone. However, it was now scorched black and dark red dust hung in the air as he pushed himself off of the cacti, ignoring how his hands were cut and bleeding almost immediately as he knew they'd heal, though he could feel a good three or four dozen long, sharp needles still embedded in his body from shoulders to just above his ass. "What the hell is going on?" he muttered in confusion.

She had no idea what to expect when she walked in but he seemed happy to see her which warmed her heart a little, and after what she felt he always seemed to have the answers it was kinda funny she could be negative and he would always seem happy and would be so possitive. Right now she just didn't know what to do, the more she felt the feeling. She followed beside him and she was happy at that, right now she just looked at him and it was kinda nice. Last time she walked down these halls was before everything had been destoryed, she had felt something when she was in his mind, a power only she shared with him at his level, but with that human that he was in love with at one point she would not press it. Jean didn't want to know what it was like to just be told no, so she stayed away certain things and love was one of them. But right now everything would change, she sensed that much. Walking through the halls she looked at him concerned he had taken a beating and already he would use it so she spoke to him mentally.

"You sure thats wise to use it Charles? we all took a beating but you had it worse then all of us, im just sorry that...." She didn't know how to say it she felt bad she heard his pleas for help and she hesitated for so long.

Charles exhaled. "Eric chose not to stay, despite helping us rebuild. We cannot be sure of what he will do any more than we know what will happen in the future. It is possible that it will become easier to accept what has happened in time, though it will always be rather... harsh to remember. Focus not on what you failed to do, but what you succeeded in doing... something I could not do, despite my experience," he said wryly as they moved down the hallway. It had only been a couple of weeks since Apocalypse's defeat and likely demise, and while they did not enjoy killing, it was a simple fact that someone like Apocalypse was too set in his ways and would not have accepted a peaceful solution.

He gritted his teeth as he slowly pulled out the spikes he could reach, keenly aware of the blood scent that would draw any predator, including vultures, down on him. "Remind me never to visit Vegas... my luck seems to be total shite," he whispered hoarsely before he coughed, covering his mouth. "My famly... is most likely no more," he muttered warily.

She smiled at him and nodded it was kinda cute how he was the way he was she bent down and kissed his bald head. "You have a way to look at life you know, its nice to be able to know someone like you. It helps especially when I am terrified even more about my powers, perhaps in time I will lighten up" Jean said to Charles and sighed a bit her hand on his shoulder squeezing his shoulder she knew all to well that Eric was gone and didn't know what to say about it, but working with him not against him seemed nice for a change. It was a shame that he hated humans so much that he would damn them. But right now nothing could take away the feeling she had, she was afraid for her friend here. Right now she was just afraid something would happen to him and she refused to let anything happen.

"When ever your ready Charles'"

Charles chuckled as he set the helmet over his head, the wires less obvious than they had been several years before, but still rather noticeable. They were, however, built into a quartet of thicker cords that ran into the desk before him. He inhaled deeply as he focused, the walls seemingly stretching into infinity before bursting into thousands of sparks of light. Their awareness shot towards the west before noticing an almost indigo mental imprint on its knees, which was interesting as most mutant minds tended to show as blue or light purple while normal minds showed as white. He cocked his head as the imprint was plucking something from his shoulders as faint streaks of brilliant crimson flared every few minutes. He concentrated, getting a more focused location before removing the helmet. "He seems to be injured and roughly seventy miles northwest of Fort Worth, Texas, not far from the border with New Mexico. If we are to help him, we will likely need medical kits and Hank's assistance," he said wryly, backing away from the desk.

He paused, feeling like a cool breeze brushed past him before he glanced around before wincing as he plucked another needle free, letting it join the pile of just under a dozen others. "Ugh... it's been a real bitch, ain't it?" he whispered hoarsely. "," .

Jean looked at the people all the different colors sometimes there looked to be more humans then mutants and the other way around. But she got use to it and watched Charles she was very alert the whole time and it was a very powerful feeling of protection, her eyes looking around and it was nice to see what she saw. But when he removed the helmet and heared what he said, she began to gather things that would be needed. Putting two fingers up by her forehead she sent a message in Hanks head knowing they would be needing him. But while she was waiting for Hank she thought now would be the time. She hung her head as she thought about there time together and knew it was now or never before anyone was around. They had been fast friends, he was a friend and teacher one who not so long ago took something to stop his powers so he could walk, taking away what he was, but she still respected him. Packing away the jet she was trying to figure out how to say what she wanted to say.

"Charles..." She said softly as she looked at him and knelt before him so she was eye level with him.

"I don't know if you know just how important you are to everyone here, you have been my friend and teacher. The kids call me a freak even amoung our own kind but. You taught me to free my ability to let it take hold, ive always been terrified of my power afraid I would hurt someone espcially you. Our last battle when you were being taken over and you called to me for my help something inside me snapped, the power inside me I could control but my emotions ran free, when your eyes turned black and you were almost gone it made me realize just how much I care about you Charles. Thats why I vowed to not be afraid of my powers when I had to use them, thank you....for trusting in me" She had tears in her eyes as she spoke to him, looking away trying to hide the tears though she had no idea why she wanted to hide them

Charles exhaled softly as he gently squeezed Jean's hand. "The main reason why I am so familiar with your feelings and uncertainties is because I have been where you are myself. The uncertainty of knowing that we're so different not necessarily physically, but mentally, can make feeling normal around others is difficult. Raven knows well what it is like, as though she is able to take almost any form or voice she could desire, she is not quite comfortable around large crowds of people," he said thoughtfully.

Hank McCoy smirked slightly as the elevator door opened, seeing Jean jump a bit in surprise as they'd only gone up a floor to where the "X-Jet" sat, as it had been dubbed by one of their younger mutant students, Jubilation Lee, or, Jubilee, as she preferred.

He exhaled softly as his eyes rose to the decreasing sunlight as he'd managed to find a shady alcove about twice as large as himself. He knew that snakes and coyotes would be on the prowl and he'd prefer not to be on the menu. "" . "," .

Jean smiled at what he said and felt a bit better it as nice he understood all so well, she had great respect for Raven and always had that kind of ability had to be hard always hiding behind a different form and body it was hard to even imagine it, but she tried her best to. Her powers were deadly but Ravens not so much, its the skills she learned all those years ago that was the one of many deadly things about her, she feared for what that meant for the future but right now all she cared about was Charles and the new mutant that they both had sensed. Seeing Hank and then seeing another student she knew they wouldn't be alone which maybe a good thing but then she began to think of the mutant she gave a piece of humanty to his name was Login, she crossed her arms she hadn't had the chance to even tell anyone that wasn't with her at the time about him. Maybe what she sensed was him, but had no idea.

Charles smirked slightly. "It was rather difficult to miss Logan, as I believe he was called, rampaging around. Only time will tell what will come for him, Jean," he quipped, amused as Jean blinked, seeing her gaze flicker to him for a moment as they left the elevator. He noticed that Hank had several first aid kits stacked beneath one furry arm.

Hank McCoy tilted his head. "It is up to you if we should bring another student with us to convince this possibly injured mutant to come with us, though Jean may be able to manage herself, I'm sure," he said, teasing Jean.

He grimaced, his eyes sliding closed before reopening, revealing that his irises were glowing with a soft cerulean glow. Unexpectedly, complex tribal markings were faintly glowing over his skin with a dull silvery glow. "Just my luck... starving and dehydrated with precisely no chance of finding anyone before I would normally die... eh?" he muttered before his ears twitched, picking up a faint sound. He shifted to crawl deeper into the alcove, finding a broad cave before his eyes narrowed on a particular group of rocks that were a bit darker even in the near darkness of the cave.

He drew back his hand, focusing as he did so as a warm bluish lavender energy swirled around his hand and wrist, forming into a vague spear head shape before he thrust it forward, the rocks fracturing with a dull crunch. He jerked free his arm, ignoring the trickles of blood that trailed over his skin before the minor wounds sealed themselves, the silvery markings glowing brighter. He cocked his head as he winced, feeling an unfamiliar chill on his knees, shins, and bloodied feet before he realized it was water.
"Well... not so dehydrated now... but.... not safe to drink too much," he mumbled as he managed to drink some of the water, which was surprisingly cold and fresh.

She looked at Charles and saw the smile on his face he could be really cool to be around and right now she just wasn't afraid of what life threw at her either. She also heard what Hank said and thought for a moment, she had been through a lot they all had and her powers were growing beyond what anyone could really understand. But she did what she had to do in order to deal with life the only way she knew how to. She tossed the idea in her head about another student, and thought about the mutant that was in trouble. She looked at Charles and thought for a moment, he always said to trust in her power to just let it fly. She had no idea what to do but knew she couldn't hide from her powers. She nodded to the professor and looked at Hank and nodded to him as well. She sat down and looked at them she knew she could handle anything that came her way.

"Im sure we can manage we are a team after all"

Charles nodded slightly as they made their way to the hangar where the Blackbird resided. "We can," he agreed with amusement.

Hank McCoy chuckled as the door opened, revealing the jet. "So, the Mojave Desert? It won't take us more than a half hour or so to get there," he said thoughtfully as the ramp lowered, shifting into steps on the right side for himself and Jean while the left side remained a ramp for Charles, who deftly rolled his way up the gently sloping ramp. "So, what do we know about this mutant?" he said with some interest.

Charles looked thoughtful. "From the impressions I was able to get, he seems to have some energy manipulation, denser than normal skin and muscles, and possibly a healing factor. Certainly he has extremely high pain tolerance, Hank, though we can't be sure of anything else," Charles said wryly.

He winced as he felt the needles pushing out of his skin one by one, the sharp stinging pain dulling to a painful ache as he heard them clattering to the floor. He sat Indian style with his hands clasped in a prayer style, but inverted so the heels of his palms were upward while his entwined fingers were on the bottom. His eyes slid half closed as he inhaled slowly and deliberately, steam rising from the healing wounds on his biceps, chest, throat and face, particularly around his left eye and jawbone. Unnoticed, the injuries to his feet were also healing. "Unlikely anyone will even realize I'm here... might try to find some wood to create a fire... and try to get something in my stomach," he muttered.

"Have to remember survival isn't a sprint, but more of a marathon," he mumbled.

The amusment of the situation finally got hold of her and she let out a chuckle which was odd for her but she just went with it. "When can you ever really get enough information on a new mutant' She put two fingers to her temple and closed her eyes, trying to get a better idea of the situation. So she really thought deep trying to figure out more about this one. She felt the same energy she felt when she helped Charles but instead of hiding from it she just allowed the energy to fill her, she appeared before the mutant she didn't know if he would be able to see her but it was draining her fast, her red hair made her look rather angelic and knelt down beside him using everything in her body.

"Help i coming what is your name...." Jean said hoping the other mutant was able to hear her or see her though she perfered both. Jean was a head strong girl and wouldn't allow anyone to tell her no she decided now was the time to embrace what she had been born with.

Charles noticed Jean using Astral Walking to contact the mutant, an instinctive form of Astral Projection, which he knew they were both capable of.

Hank McCoy was quiet as he powered up the jet before they pulled out of the hangar, shooting out of the exit beneath a waterfall several hundred yards away in a nearby gorge.

Charles cocked an eyebrow as Jean, belted into one of the seats, abruptly blushed deeply as the corners of her mouth curled up, though he didn't say anything.

He blinked, seeing the semi-transparent form wreathed in reddish gold fire. His hand rose, brushing her cheek momentarily. "It... is... Anai Nash," he muttered shyly, unknowingly pushing his own energy into her to sustain her presence longer.

"I don't know how I can do what I do... but I know... so far... that most things that would normally kill someone doesn't kill me... it's just really, really unpleasant," he mumbled shyly.

She smiled at the stranger the mutant who had no idea why he could do what they could do, she nodded. "I was the same way, but look toward the sky we will be there soon, we are coming in a black jet" She stood up knowing she was getting weaker so she had to cut the connection but she seemed so much happier and placed her hands on her hips and looked at him.

"We can help you I belong to a group that help mutants, we are the Xmen and we guide those willing to be guided and I think you will do well. We will be there as soon as we can be. My name is Jean Grey you have friends that you didn't know you had, see you soon" Jean had to cut the connection and opened up her eyes, she hadn't used the ability in a very long time when she opened up her eyes her nose was bleeding, pushing to hard was never a good thing but she did it anyway.

''I did get a name from the new mutant his name is Anai Nash and sense no threat in him"

Charles looked thoughtful. "It is intriguing, but several minutes before we had caught the first telepathic burst from him, most likely uncontrolled, I sensed something else, though I'm not sure what it was," he said quietly.

Hank McCoy hummed softly, thinking. He blinked as he noticed faint flickers of lavender light along the ground several hundred meters ahead. "I think we may have found him," he remarked. He calculated the youth was covering sixty five to seventy feet every second, which was quite impressive.

Charles tilted his head as he too noticed the slight flickers underneath the faint moonlight as well as the dark form that was creating the dust trail.

Anai Nash grimaced slightly as he stood before he paused, glancing down at his dirty, bloodstained feet. "Jean Grey, eh? Probably a fallen angel," he muttered shyly as he slipped out of the cave before sighing softly, his gaze flickering to the distant, faint orange glow to the west and slightly southward. He knew what it was: where his adoptive parents had been left. If his guess on what the glow was... it was unlikely they would leave that spot ever again.

"I have to know for sure," he mumbled stubbornly before he pushed off, his bare feet slapping the hard packed, stony ground without much notice though the dust trail he kicked up had very slight shimmers of pale lavender energy swirling through it. He was unaware he was running roughly 220 meters every ten seconds, or roughly two and a quarter football fields. That meant he'd cover the close to twelve hundred yards to where he'd left the car that afternoon in just under fifty seconds.

She wiped her nose off and could sense the mutant but sensed what Charles had but was hard to understand what that could possibly be, she stood up and looked out the window, she sensed the new mutant on the move and looked at Charles. "He is on the move '" She said simply she hoped this wasn't a mistake to do going with just a handful of people but she wasn't afraid her black outfit showed off the figure that she had a figure that had been hidden behind school clothing. She looked at Hank and nodded to him "That will be him" She confirmed what Hank had said 'I don't think we will need to worry about him as much but still something else is around the area and ive no idea where or what she was feeling

Charles knew Hank caught his thought as the larger mutant decreased speed and dropped lower to the ground, roughly eighteen to twenty feet off the ground.

Hank McCoy inhaled as he caught sight of the burning car before he noticed the youth tripping and tumbling head-over-heels at high speed, making him wince at the dull thumps as he set the jet to hover before he lowered the landing gear.

Charles blinked, noticing discolorations in the heavily damaged car that looked to be misshapen bullet holes as he felt the jet touch the packed soil.

Anai Nash winced as he spat out a mouthful of blood, wincing as numerous minor cuts and bruises ached intensely. His gaze flickered over the badly damaged car before he noticed the body several yards away and several feet behind the car."No," he muttered in a low voice before he walked slowly towards it with a grimace, finding it was indeed his mother, her dark red hair wet with something he preferred not to think about. Her face was untouched, save for the trickle of blood that ran from the corner of her mouth and unblinking dark amethyst-onyx eyes.

"Bullets don't have sharp undersides... this... was no accident," he mumbled. His ears pricked slightly as he heard soft footfalls along with the low whirring of an electrical engine.

Jean waited for the jet to settle down and she ran out she felt something very bad was about to happen and she didn't want anyone else hurt. She saw what was going on and as she walked over she felt something was around her at a high speed. So she took off running very fast, she was still getting used to the outfit but she ran as fast as she humanly could since speed wasn't her skill. The closer she got the more she realized another explosion was going to happen, the boys at the school had been fooling around with cars enough to know what was going on could get worse. Using every fiber of her being her red hair flowing with the wind and before anyone could say anything jean put her hands out and a barrier was protecting the two people there, soon after a huge explosion could be seen, heard and felt ass the blast didn't hurt the two she was protecting.

"Charles something else is here or someone I should say'' she said telepathiclly

Charles frowned slightly, noticing larger bootprints, roughly size twelve or thirteen, signaling a larger person, likely male from the hiking boot style.

Hank McCoy looked around warily before he padded closer to Jean and the young man before he frowned, noticing the young woman.

Charles hummed in thought. "I guessed as much from the larger boots. It is obviously not one of us nor the young man," he replied.

Anai Nash froze in surprise at the large, furred male lightly pressing two fingers to his mother's pulse before retreating with a sigh. "She's gone," was all he said. Anai's ears twitched slightly before he noticed the flicker of movement in the low light as his eyes narrowed, their glow intensifying until even the skin around his eyes was glowing faintly, the outer corners of his eyes glowing a bit lower down his cheeks and closer to his temples. "Who is that?" he muttered in a low voice as he lurched to his feet, wincing as he felt the intense heat of the fire causing his skin to redden.

Jean watched Hank and sadness could be seen on Jeans face she growled in frustration and felt helpless and looked into the fire as she put the barrier down. She wanted to just scream in frustration the whole point was to help not be so useless but she shook her head and sighed, she could see his expression and smiled at him "His name is Hank code name Beast" She placed her hand on the males shoulder and looked at him "I am sorry that we couldn't save her" But when he said what she did she looked over and wondered if it was the professor and Jubilee she looked over at Hank wondering if he was able to see course kinda a stupid question since he had the eye sight and senses of an animal which made hank useful though had she said that would have made her feel odd since she valued his friendshiip.

Charles half turned his head before he noticed a hulking form darting toward Hank from behind. "Behind you, Hank!!" he warned.

Hank McCoy blinked at Charles' warning before the impact slammed into him, tossing him over the burning car onto the hard ground on the other side..

Charles narrowed his eyes. "Deflecting his strikes rather than blocking them directly, would be best, I think," he advised.

Anai Nash frowned as he noticed the large mutant turning to take a swing at them before he shifted his weight, darting to the side as the mutant's large forearms narrowly missed both him and Jean as they darted to either side of the larger mutant. "Think you can redirect him to be closer to me?" he said quietly as he pushed off, somersaulting to land next to Jean as the larger mutant swiped at him again. "Wonder why he's focused primarily on me.... unless someone ordered him to capture me," he thought. He didn't see how or why, as he'd not known he was a mutant until only a few hours before.
