The anniversary of 9/11
What are you planning on doing for the anniversary of the WTC tomorrow?
My husband is a career firefighter... his station is having a special ceremony tomorrow, for their families. We have 3 boys, and we are pulling them out of school for this. I believe, that this is a day that needs to be remembered, and I want my kids to appreciate all that they have - and to think of all the families who are doing without now... a year later, without a mother, a father, or maybe a sibling.
I know that all the firehalls in BC are doing 2 minutes of silence at 10:28 tomorrow morning... I think it would be great, if people who aren't at work at that time tomorrow would show up at their local fire halls, police stations, EHS halls, and even hospitals, to say "Thanks" to the people there, who put their lives on the lines for others everyday. And to remember the civilians who lost their lives on this tragic day in history.
