Hey guys!
So I have noticed that there are a ton of litsters out there that like/love anime, but have no idea what's good or what sucks, so I kind of stolen Trombonus' idea of making a Video Game info thread with ratings and such, and made it into a sister thread- just with anime as the subject instead. So hopefully people will enjoy this and this thread, and get a good idea of some great anime's and manga's out there!!! I'm thinking of posting a new anime info blog once a week, with the exception of Christmas and New Years in which there will be two. The ratings will go as such:

0-1 - poor
2-5- fair
6-8- good
8(+)-10- excellent

*** keep in mind too, that if available, I will always post a link of the opening and endings songs from YouTube on to here, for you to listen and enjoy and see for yourself*** I will also post a write-up along with a picture from the anime.

Wolf's Rain is a beautiful story about four wolves, Kiba, Tsume, Hige and Toboe and their story on finding Paradise. They essentially follow the scent of the Lunar Flower, hence leading them to Paradise. However, if the anime's story was that simple, then it wouldn't be 26 (30) episodes, now would it?

Wolf's Rain takes place during a time that the world suffers a great depression. There's no food and homelessness occurs everywhere. The story starts to unfold with a little background about the wolve's tale : the Book of the Moon.Wolves are mystical beings who came to the world from a place called Paradise, at the dawn of time and will one day find a way to return to paradise. They must first seek out the Flower Maiden (a being created from the essence of lunar flowers) to guide them to paradise. This legend has nearly been forgotten because wolves were thought to have been hunted to extinction nearly two hundred years earlier. Some wolves, however, have found a way to survive by coexisting with humans and blending into society, using illusions to appear human themselves. Which brings us to Kiba, the obvious leader and main character of the story.

Kiba finds Tsume, a lone wolf when entering what once was a city. Essentially they team up, and along the way they find the other two wolves, Hige and Toboe. The "pack forms" and Kiba gives the three insight about Paradise. Eventually they all decide that Paradise is way better than living in the dump they see as Earth. Due to their determination to find this Paradise, they end up awakening the flower Maiden known as Cheza. The wolves finally see a clear path. They must find Cheza ( who is locked away and is luring them with her scent) and take her with them in order to reach Paradise. Their path narrows as they realize that Cheza is a prized possesion to the Nobles of remaining cities, who are trying to create their own way of getting into Paradise. The rest of the story unfolds more after what I have explained. I recommend it, and there is a Two-volume Manga as well. All episodes are on YouTube for you guys to watch.

The downside: Although I ended up buying the anime, Wolf's Rain starts off slow, and kind of melodramatic, however, you still want to see what happens next, so your bound to end up watching it all. Episodes 13-15 repeat themselves , and you start noticing that 13-15 ends up really being episodes 2-5! Apprently this is done to remind the audience of what has happened in the past,. and what is to become, but really, it's just annoying, so I advise that you just skip these episodes to continue, but if you forget plot easily like myself, then they do help!

I shall post another review before the Holiday break!

Volume One: Ayakashi - Goddess of the Dark Tower (DVD 1)

In the era of medieval Japan, cultural arts flourished, territorial wars were waged, and man and demon co-existed!

While attempting to retrieve a lost falcon for his feudal lord, bird handler Zushonosuke encounters and becomes irresistibly drawn to Tomihime, the supernatural inhabitant of a cursed castle. As a forbidden love between a mortal and a long-forgotten goddess begins to take hold, the horrifying existence of "Forgotten Gods" who feed on humans is soon revealed, inevitably leading to a deadly clash between the shogun's army and the clan of Forgotten Gods. Amidst the escalating chaos, will Zushonosuke ultimately sacrifice his humanity for his love for Tomihime. A beautiful story and probably the best that I have seen from the two. The opening songs are catchy as hell, and the art is breathtaking. I honestly think this is the best of the bunch!

Volume Two- Yotsuya Ghost Story (DVD 2)

In the Edo era of Japan, when cultural arts flourished and the samurai code of "bushido" emerged, humanity's fear of the supernatural was very real! Desiring to wed Lady Oiwa, an ambitious and calculating ronin named Iemon murders her father, who had opposed the marriage due to Iemon's treacherous past.

As a master less samurai, Iemon soon grows weary and resentful of his ailing wife Oiwa and their impoverished stature; however, when he is presented with an offer to marry a wealthy neighbor's beautiful granddaughter, Oiwa is duped into drinking a poison that horribly disfigures her face. The revelation of Iemon's betrayal as well as the painful disfigurement causes Oiwa to kill herself, setting into motion a nightmarish curse carried out by a terrifying, vengeful spirit seeking death-defying revenge!!!
This story was a little show to start off, but towards the end, it made me crave for more. Once again, everything was as beautiful as the first volume. This is a series I do recommend to anyone!

Volume Three- Goblin Cat (DVD 3)

The downside: To be honest, I didn't care much for volume two. Seemed a little boring and dragged on. Otherwise, I really liked the stories, from what I am told, these stories are real, well according to the Japanese ^^ I recommend it, and I'll probably end up buying these for myself. I promise to update for the third volume as soon as it comes out.

Plot:

Peach Girl is about a high school drama, centered on our star Momo Adachi. A member of the swim team, Momo tans easily and her hair is bleached (how this actually works on a Japanese girl- who knows- it just does). Unfortunately, she is stereotyped as a this slut-type, "easy" girl by her fellow classmates, and is forced to endure rumors about being a beach bunny and a slut. Her only friend is Sae, who is actually responsible for spreading the nasty gossip. Momo is in love with Toji, a meat-headed baseball player, but the "friend" Sae also has her eye on the boy. Momo's life is further complicated with the introduction of Kairi Okayasu, a dumb-ass playboy who is determined to make her his because she had saved him from drowning the summer right before they entered high school. I don't want to give too much away, because it actually gets interesting!!!

The Downside: As much as I enjoyed watching Peach Girl, there were a few times I was pounding my fists at Toji's dumb, jock-like actions. Then theres Sae, and you get angry at her and her stupid schemes she pulls on Momo-chan. The story somewhat drags, and the Manga is alot more better. Plus I have this thing about their mouths in the anime. They bug me.

The story of Tohru Honda who stumbles upon the home of a clan of people who when touched by members of the opposite sex, become their corresponding Zodiac animal. I don't remember how mny episodes there are, but I do remember the last three were very dark and very scary if you are unsure of things. If you like Peach Girl, you will probably like this one also as they are both marketed as teen dramas.

Mushi-shi ( Or known as Mushishi) is based off an manga by Yuki Urushibara, who later made it into a live-action show. But we're reviewing the anime today. The show is a series of mini-stories that all follow a wanderer, known as the Mushi-master, Ginko. So what's a Mushi-master you ask? Well, from what I was told, a Mushi are "beings" in touch with the essence of life, far more basic and pure than any creatures we know of.The majority of humans are incapable of seeing Mushi and are oblivious to their existence, but there are a few who possess the ability to see and interact with Mushi. The Mushi depicted in the anime look very similar to snakes, snails and many other "odd" creatures. A Mushi-master is similar to a researcher. Ginko wanders about finding out the different characteristics of Mushi, and as it seems, always ends up helping those who may of been affected by Mushi. So kind of think of him as an exorcist, but for little, cute spiritual beings.
The theme song "Sore Feet" really flows with the anime, and I have to say, Mushi-Shi may even be up there with the classic Miyazaki films. The art is shockingly lush and beautiful, the story is ever-changing, but in a good way. There's no actual "storyline", so it's easy to draw newcomers into the anime, even if they did not see the first episode. I really recommend this anime. One of the best I have seen this year!

The downside: Wow. I can't really say much for downsides. The anime won a ton of awards, and get this- hardly anyone knows of the anime!! I have to admit, it still doesn't beat a Miyazaki film, but close!

Genre: Horror, Action, Supernatural.

Now, I'll be honest. I liked the games better than the anime. I still have yet to play DMC 4, but 1, and 3 were awesome. The anime itself is suppose to take place between the 1st and 4th game, and even brings back the regular ladies; Trish and Lady, all decked out in their anime styles.. and a stupid girly attitude ( if you watch it, you'll know what I mean). So anyway, Dante is once again our main guy, stuffing down pizza and showing off his gun and sword skills. He owns his own "jack-of-all trades" place called- yet, you guessed it. "Devil May Cry". The story begins with Dante and two new characters- Morrison and Patty. I won't explain why they are there, but they are. And it's kind of annoying... well Patty is. Dante is poor in the anime, and seems to have trouble paying up his debts, which puts him in the bad books with Trish and Lady. Oh did I mention Dante has a liking to strawberry sundaes now? The pizza we knew, but come on! Sundaes?

The downside: Well.. Um.. *clears throat* You already know about the Sundaes.. but yeah.. good ol' Dante also sucks at gambling. The shows pretty weak from what I have seen in the first volume. The animation is great, and so are the fights.. but it drags on. I personally don't think that Trish and Lady would show off their "feminine" sides, so it was a little annoying. And patty... gah! You'll see what I mean. It's okay , worth watching.. but you know what? I rather prefer Hellsing over this.

Over View:
Okay, the game was a little weak, but the anime's..wow. Just wow. It throws in a little mixture of everything! Bible Black ranges from Tit-fucks to demon rape to tentacles to pregnant fantasies. There's also bondage, anal fucking, futari girls (dick girls) and just straight ol' sex. I'm not kidding. It's got just about every kink there is- well legally at least. The story begins with Minase, a high school student who finds a book of black magic in an isolated room in his school. He stupidly starts practicing black magic that has extreme sexual effects that well.. get's him lucky with the ladies! Eventually some friends join along the way. As Minase gets deeper and deeper into using the dark craft, evils came forth, along with a demon bitch named Kitami. Kitami has eyes for Minase's friend, Imari and eventually needs Imari's pure body as a virgin sacrifice that will free Kitami from her curse that was placed on her on the night of Walpurgis. Eventually, the origins of the book are revealed, and so is the incident twelve years ago on the night of the Walpurgis, (the night when the power of evil was at its strongest.) After coming to his senses, Minase struggles to get himself out of the darkness that he had put himself into. I don't want to give too much away- but it's hot, sexy and has a really good story plot!

The downside:
To buy the series is expensive ( $70.00 canadian just to own one volume!) You can get lost with the storyline if you watch it or download it, so buying the series is a must ( I got lucky- my work carries it). The game gets a little boring, and is a little hard. Not much time to get your rocks off if you ask me. I recommend it, and make sure you watch it on a spooky night in a non-lit room! Get ready for some sexual fun with this one!!!
