The amicas mistake

Amicus' tone has changed in the years since this thread was started.

When he does post, he is less dogmatic and more inclined to respond to what is said in reply, rather than selecting a view that the responder didn't have.

That is not to say that what he says cannot offend. Some of his statements are based on such wild interpretations of statistics that they need to be challenged.

However, the 2009 Amicus is much more courteous than the 2005 one.

Hello, Oggbashan, after spending the day pulling posts from the "Feminine Mistake" thread and noticing your continued rebuttal of each and every assertion I made...way back then...I think nothing has changed with either of us.

There has been a small change, I think. Way back then, 2004, just a few months after I discovered the forum, I was the single conservative voice with nary an agreeable mind in view and it was a task to respond to each and every critic and let the barbs slide away.

It was Tatelou, I think, that summed it up with noting that everyone joined up in opposition to my ridiculous notions. Those of that old group that remain, I tagged as the 'usual suspects', years ago, and it stuck; fancy that?

cheerio...

More courteous but not any closer to the truth or insight.....'You can't fix stupid' applies directly to him, but that's part of his charm.....he's 120 deg off and no way to stop him.....
