OOC: This shall be my first attempt at this but I wish to get as many involved as possible providing it does not throw the tread too far off.

Setting: KIngdom of Toran, Mythical Kingdom undergoing it's medieval Age

Background: The Kingdom of Toran is ruled by an aged King with one daughter Princess Skye. (age 20+ choice of the player) Skye is very unruly and does not embrace the king's ideals. Our story takes place one night before Skye is sent off to her Uncle's via escort as war is soon to erupt within the Kingdom. Unbeknowst to the escort the road they are to take is being watched by highwaymen who have received news of the wealth carried by the Princess to her uncle as well as the added, appetizing fact that they will have the Princess and the attendants to do what they will with...

The Escort consists of four guards (short roles as the escort will be wiped out) The Princess, her attendants (male or female)

We need Bandits as well (Male or Female)

I will play the role of the Bandit Leader. Once we have the roles determined we will start the story, thank you in advance for all who get involved.

Skye

I could play Princess Skye..here's how I envision her:

21
Long, thick red hair
Green eyes
36D 24 35
Dressed in a low cut, emerald, lacy silk gown

Wonderful Sarah, that is perfect, I hope you enjoy playing her. I look forward to this beginning soon

OOC: If it's acceptable, I'd like to play one of the attendants. He's supposed to be a eunuch, but he's not. He was a runaway from a rival kingdom (somewhere in the middle east), and he was disguised by one of the king's advisors. He has been one of the Princess's attendants for a year now and secretly lusts after her. But of course he doesn't act because everyone thinks he's a eunuch.

Impressive choice

OOC: Welcome aboard HippieChick. I think this will become very interesting, welcome to you as well Mfucker, yup, not a problem there. we need some bandits though or this would not be much of an ambush ;)

(ooc) If possible I would like to play the part of a female bandit.

Name: Alessandra “Alex” Chailey
Height: 5’3, petite frame, very slender and willowy
Hair: raven black, long, straight, usually worn in a ponytail
Eyes: violet
Specialty: Short sword and throwing knives

Alex is relatively new with this bandit group. She’s not really evil, more of a wandering mercenary. She keeps to herself so her background is a mystery.

Welcome Sinjun

OOC: Yes Sinjun, please do and welcome. I look forward to playing with all of you as soon as we have all the roles filled

perhaps 1 more bandit

OOC: I would like to see about getting one more bandit to even things out. After that I think we will have what is needed to get things started. Seeing that Alessandra has stated she is new to the bandits, I should have a right hand as well (Male or female) if not I will create the bandit myself and Alessandra will be the Bandit's right hand, though I would rather have one more player.

OOC: This sounds interesting. I would be willing to play the other bandit, male, who is an outlaw for having slain a nobleman, about 5'9 and 185lbs, very experienced in combat with many visible battle scars. Be advised, this is my first time doing one of these.

Let the story begin (King Brenias)

OOC: Great Chris, fear not this is my first time attempting a thread and have been blessed to have some of the finest writers that I have read here joining us. We shall begin the evening before the journey which will take place within the morning.

IC: "I have Spoken Daughter, you will leave tomorrow morning for your uncle's Palace in the west, this conversation is closed!" King Brenias' wrinkled face cracked in disdain as he daughter stood before him. "You will have my own personal guard escort you. There is war approaching from the east. Please try to understand. I do not want you involved in this." The king sighed as he looked upon his beautiful though unruly daughter. Why must you fight me every step Skye, I am your Father!" Despite his age his voice boomed through the audience hall as he formed his fists, hitting them hard against the throne. "So Skye, shall we end this? You need your rest for the trip tomorrow eve I will send 2 attendants with you. They are already aware of this and have begun preparations for you and I myself have preparations to make as well."

Alex

Alex leaned against her backpack that was propped up behind her. Her eyes stared unseeingly into the dying embers of the campfire. She was idly playing with one of her knives as she listened to the sounds around her, the snap and crackle of the fire, the song of the crickets, and the soft rustling of the wind playing in the treetops.

Her hair was still damp from her recent bath by the river; at least it was no longer tangled and matted. Her eyes traveled to slowly from one bandit to another. She wondered what new assignment the group leader had planned for them. She hoped it was more profitable than their last raid.

Bandit Leader Darius Hawker

The firelight flickered over the unrolled map before the bandits within Darius' tent. Speaking with a hard and concise voice he began to explain the plan for the afternoon abduction. "Alessandra, you will have your men posted here.." points to map circling an area of the path in the woods which bends. The logs shall be placed on either side of this path, the rope is taut but all here are not privy to your skill with daggers, When the signal is given I wish those ropes cut. Darius turns to his right hand his eyes containing great seriousness. Now, you my friend, I need you to have those archers placed here and here, do not aim at the horses, use whistlers, these fools that call themselves guards cannot fight at close range in confusion. Remember I want the horses unharmed. A bandit growled from behind Darius "Aye and what of the women, when do we get our reward!" the disgustingly grimy man spoke, lining his crooked teeth with his tongue. A loud chorus of laughter eminated about the tent. Darius laughed, walking closer to the man, the laughter rose...then was silenced as steel was drawn. Darius slammed the man's head down upon the table as his other hand brandishes a stilletto. "Very Simple my friend...if any part of you touches the ladies I shall cut it off myself, And I am not restricting myself to your upper body either, Do I make myself clear?!" The man nodded as best he could from the table. Darius turned to the silent group. "The Princess is carrying coffers of gold within the carriage. More than enough for any of you to take to bed the lass or lad ye choose, but be warned, my warning applies to all. Any Questions?"

OOC: Whistlers are arrows that are built with hollow centers they make a whistling which confuse horses.

Sorry about that Sinjun, I posted just as you did, the tent is not far from the fire ;)

Alex

(ooc) *laughs* Not a problem. I can work with it.

(ic)

Alex glanced with barely hidden distain at the small gathering of bandits around the table. Most were unkempt, coarse and vulgar. She had only joined as a means of passing time before her next expedition. She nodded her understanding at Darius’ instructions and caught several bandits looking her way. They averted their eyes quickly as she turned her violet gaze on them.

She had little to fear from them. The one and only bandit that tried to steal a kiss from her when she first joined had paid dearly for his mistake. He should actually be thanking her from sparing the world from anymore of his stupid offspring. She arched a delicate eyebrow as Darius violently punished one of his men. Most were such ignorant dogs, thinking only of their pleasure instead of planning for the future.

She was here for the gold only. What Darius and his men had planned for the Princess and her entourage was of no concern to her. She turned to leave but stopped. Her eyes darkened dangerously as she pierced the bandit leader’s eyes, “For the last time, my name is Alex. Do not call me Alessandra.” Her voice was soft like silk. She regretted ever having divulged her full name in the first place. A name that stood for what she once was so very long ago.

With the warning lingering in the night air, Alex made her way back to her spot. Her lithe and willowy body was silhouetted against the glow from the fire. Her black leather clothing outlined an athletic yet delicate figure that was deceptively gentle and frail looking. However, the bandit group knew she was anything but frail.

Alex leaned back and closed her eyes. She would need to be well rested for tomorrow’s ambush. One thing she did admire from this group was the fact that Darius was an exceptionally cunning strategist. The ambush should go smoothly without a hitch.

Darius

"For the last time, my name is Alex. Do not call me Alessandra." Darius looked up as Alex turned and left. Closing his eyes and taking a deep breath he spoke. "This ends our meeting, go and sleep you mangy beasts, tomorrow you can go and make use of the gold we reap however you wish, just do not deter from my instructions, dismissed!" As the last bandit departs, Darius follows, walking about the camp watching the thieves sharpen their blades and begin petty talk. Turning, he looks to Alex's tent. Though lithe and sharp tongued; she had an alluring figure to him, fire danced within her eyes as they pierced his own with the precision of her thrown dagger. "Alex...aye, never again Alessendra. We all have our pasts, let them be buried by names." Standing near the entrance of her tent he realizes his words were spoken aloud instead of in thought as he turns to return to his tent, dimming the candle and closing his own eyes. The ambush running through his head fading to thoughts of Alex, the princess, and not once did he ponder the wealth..

Simon

OOC: Simon's real name was somewhat bothersome to pronounce for Europeans, so he is referred to as Simon. He has a thick Arabic accent, but speaks the language with proper grammar. Despite being an obvious foreigner, he dresses in the guard appropriate to an attendant of his stature.

IC:

Simon squinted at the text on the page in front of him. The book was a gift from Princess Skye, to help him learn to read English. He was off duty at the moment. His time to attend to the princess was from the early morning until the afternoon.

A knock at the door. "Enter!" Simon's eyes did not leave the book in front of him. "Hello, Beauregard. What news bring you?"

The advisor smiled a nervous grin and sat down on a chair next to Simon. He did not speak for some several moments.

"Out with it, man!"

"Yes, of course. You should know that the king is sending his daughter to his brother's palace in the West to preserve her safety. You will be one of the attendants placed in charge of her well-being."

Simon closed his book to listen more closely.

"We both know that travelling is dangerous, and the king has many enemies. I advised against this journey, but the king was adamant." A long pause. "The king and I are counting on you to protect her from others and from herself. You will do it, of course?

"Need you even ask? I shall protect her with my life."

"Good. Good." Beauregard stood up to leave the room.

"Oh, Beauregard?"

"Yes, Simon?"

"Have I thanked you today for what you did for me?"

"Perhaps. You thank me everyday, and it becomes difficult to tell one from the other."

"Consider yourself thanked."

OOC: Forgot to mention my bandit's name, his name is William, and his primary weapon is a two-handed broadsword which is jagged near the tip of the sword, he is also very skilled in archery. His sword, stolen 5 years prior from the nobleman he killed for raping and murdering his wife, is his most prized possession. As it turns out, the nobleman was a good friend of the King, so William has not been able to come near any marketplace occupied by the King's men for some time, instead relying on wild animals for food. He has a somewhat brooding appearance, a thick beard and a long scar on the right side of his face. William is a quiet man, perhaps as a result of what happened those years back. The only person he really ever has involved conversation with is Darius, with whom he has been associated with since the raid on a transport of the King's gold three years ago.

IC:
While watching Darius discipline one of his men, William studied Alex's expression. She seemed to be somewhat amused by what Darius what doing. Interesting. He questioned her motives, as he does with everyone he meets. Perhaps that is what has kept him alive; trust no one. William has helped Darius devise the plan for tomorrows ambush, and as Darius' right-hand-man, will be keeping an eye on Alex. Although he suspects she is just here for the gold, one never can be sure, and she appears battle-hardened enough to pose a threat to himself.
Following the breifing and after everyone has retired, William is still awake studying the plans and running through the placement of his archers. Darius is a smart man. Satisfied, he retires to get some well needed sleep.

Alex

Alex was perched on top of a boulder peeling and slicing an apple for her breakfast. She had been up before the morning sun had even begun to peek over the horizon. As usual, her belongings were neatly bundled up into one small roll. She watched as the other bandits began to stir and awaken.

Her long black hair was neatly braided and tucked under an old cap. For all intent and purposes she resembled a very young man from a distance. However, upon closer inspection, her pretty features and graceful curves quickly shattered the illusion. Her almond shaped eyes were a vibrant violet color bordered with long eyelashes. Her nose was small and pert whereas her lips were full and shaped like a little heart. High cheekbones gave her a delicate air. It was difficult to imagine how and why a woman with her beauty traveled alone and as a mercenary.

Alex popped a slice of sweet apple into her mouth as she studied Darius. She heard his words mumbled outside her tent. She was glad he decided not to press her about her past. If he did, she would have left immediately. Her eyes traveled to William, Darius’ second in command, a man who radiated strength and power. She knew he was watching her every move. Why? She had no idea. On the last three raids, she had performed her role with absolute professional finesse.

She looked at the morning sun. In a few hours, the ambush would happen. She smiled again before popping another slice of apple into her mouth.

OOC

OOC: We are still waiting for her princess and attendant to post. How long shall we wait before recasting? I will leave it up to you my players.

OOC: I dont know, its really up to you.

IC:
Waking shortly before the morning sun rose, William noticed Alex atop a boulder eating what appeared to be an apple. This was the first time William noticed Alex's striking resemblence to his late wife. Perhaps it was just the light conditions, or the pose she was in. Flashbacks occured in William's mind of the sultry nights he and his wife had shared while she was still alive, and intermittently, Alex would be inserted into those thoughts. William, confused as to why he was feeling this now, shook off the thoughts. Waiting for Darius to wake, he began cleaning his sword and sharpening it, making time to go around and double-check all of his archers' equipment. He had a vision in his dream last night, one that left him wondering if the Princess's servents had been instructed to kill her if faced with her capture. Surely she contained some information about her father's plans and security inside the Kingdom. William would have to have a talk with Darius when he awoke. Until then, he sat down and ate some wild berries he had collected the previous day, again letting his mind slip to the thoughts of he and his late wife, and inevitably, Alex as well.

An unseen watcher

From her hiding place amongst the branches of the spreading oak, she watched and listened. In the borrowed cloak of her feathers she shrugged and hunkered, her small head cocked to one side.

The tents in the glade were ragged; the men clearly something the worse for wear. She could feel the tension in their bodies. She could smell the rancid tang of their sweat as they waited hour by hour, every muscle tightened against surprise. She had heard their hasty conference. She had taken note of their plans. Nothing much about the situation interested her. What were princesses or gold to one such as she? All she cared about was keeping her own dwelling place secret. After all, she had something in her keeping that these bandits would deem a treasure far beyond the quarry they currently stalked.

Yes...she must keep her dwelling place secret.

The woman on the boulder intrigued her. She kept her knives sharp -- the gleaming of their blades bore testament to that --
and her body was honed to the same state of deadly readiness. But the posture of her deceptively slight and youthful frame was relaxed. She was one who had learned to walk the world without fear. And she, like the forest, had a mystery at her heart. In other days, it might have been a mystery worth unravelling...slowly and with great care. But not today. Not now.

Above them all, in the canopy of leaves, the watcher nibbled thoughtfully at a twig. She grinned inwardly, and allowed a few feathers to drift lazily downwards through the dappled shadows. One of them was caught by the honeyed morning breeze, and dipped in mocking dance over the heads of the bandits, as if daring to be noticed.

OOC: I'd like to post again, but I'm waiting for someone other than the bandits to post something for me to work off of.

Casting Change

OOC: I have spoken to Queen Mab in PM and I have determined that I will recast her as the Princess so we can continue the thread. I thank you all for your patience and I do apologize to the others who could not return. She will post this eve so that we may continue very soon. Thank you
