I'm aching a little this morning after three days without the Meloxicam but I can bear it (so far), so maybe I should have stopped using it anyway. We'll see how it goes today.

I've got a fresh pot of coffee brewing and the teapot is hot. The usual pastries and holiday candy are on the counter. I'm going to make a cornbread today so if there's any left, I'll bring it in.

I've submitted my story and am waiting for it to be approved. I didn't do any writing today, deciding to take a day off. I'll get back to it tomorrow unless I get bored and start writing later today. Speaking of squash, when I switched to racquetball after playing squash for years, it took some adjusting because I was swinging too far from the ball, forgetting the handle is much shorter.

Sounds like you realize if you’re choosing the taekwondo, but BJJ has throws too, just so you’re prepared. If you have a good instructor, they’ll find a way to adapt it for you, as with any martial art; but there will be some usually be some form of takedown to get to the ground in bjj

What you get in Taekwondo depends on the Sensei, but it's like Karate with more emphasis on footwork.

Is Aikido an option?

Sure it's not meant to be diluted 1:10 or so? UK squash (also known as 'diluting juice' in Scotland) is undrinkable as is, so it's always entertaining when foreigners get a bottle and insist they know what they're doing. (See also spreading Marmite or English mustard half an inch thick...)

Squash is an underrated sport. I think I've written the only story on Lit about it (short and sweet).

Interesting, I didn't know you guys had a type of Squash too. But no, this is just normal soda, like coke but orange flavor. It's kinda popular here, in part because of a silly ad campaign, made by two famous comedians, where the customer keeps not being able to say 'Squash'.

The ice arrived at midnight last night and now we have snow. They put the advisory out yesterday afternoon. This time, it was right on time. I need something stronger than coffee! But I'm going settle for it.

Appreciated the chance to sleep in a bit. One of my cats is diabetic and we are running a CGM (continuous glucose monitor) on her for a two week stint and the vet wanted to try upping her insulin a few days ago. She ran out of range high until yesterday afternoon when she plummeted all through the evening until she was alarming every fifteen minutes between midnight and two. By 8:30 this morning, she was back to high.

Hopefully, this will be a writing afternoon. Get another chapter or two of the draft of the WIP done.

We had a diabetic dog for 4 years. No continuous monitors back then so we were checking sugar once or twice daily and constantly adjusting the insulin dosage. We had to have a nutritionist prepare a special diet as well.

Not a lot of words today, but a ton of progress. Got to "THE END" yesterday on my Valentine's story first draft, so if I don't place in the Holiday story then my protagonist Jiwon ready to pounce from the tall grass with claws made of adorableness, true love, and innocent charm.

I also started two Jasmine Tea stories. The main one I'm working on has a working title of "Sijo Battle" and it's a combination of traditional Korean poetry and Eminem's rap battles from the movie "8 Mile".

I started to suspect that as I learned about these Korean poems. The women who wrote them named names and spilled T.

In the samples I found, they usually bragged about famous or virtuous men they slept with, but I felt like a rivalry between two of the top poetesses would be an interesting excuse to write some off-color, visceral poems and publish them as part of a short story.

I know that people remember that lyric, but that whole song is one of the all time great "pump up" songs. We used to listen to it before Taekwondo tournaments to get icy. I'm listening to it again now and it's held up with time.

Edit: Listening to this song again while thinking about my Jasmine Tea stories, I realize it's exactly the right tone I'm going for. I think I found the song I'm going to be writing to.
