Greetings Readers & Writers!

Welcome to the 6th Annual Literotica Reader's Choice Award Nominations! In this round, you will have the chance to nominate your favorites in 5 special categories. At the end of the month, we will close down the nominations and whittle them down to 4 in each category.
Please take the time to make a nomination in each category below. You have until February 16th to make a selection, so you can go back and reread your favorites. Thanks, and have fun!!

Most Influential Writer

Most Influential Poet

Sexiest Male Character In A Story

Sexiest Female Character In A Story

Most Literary--Genre Transcending

Most Original Sex Scene

After the nominees for these categories are chosen, they will join a list of nominees in each story category on Literotica. The 4 story nominations in each story category have been chosen thusly: we took the top voted story in each category from each month, for a total of 12 possibles. From those, we whittled it down to the top four stories with the highest votes.

After the top nominations in the above categories have been decided, you will be allowed to vote on the best story in each category as well as the nominations you make here.

Nominations in these 5 categories will be closed on February 16th, 2005. We will tally the results, then post the finalists along with the category nominations for final voting. Good luck, everyone!
With a 'thank you' to Imp for the idea. :cathappy:

Thanks for posting this here, Lauren :)

A question:

Last year from what I remember, only a few nominees were picked from the bunch, and I always figured it was due to number of nominations, but it could be anything--

Do you know how this decision is made?

I only ask because I noticed things like--

"I would nominate for xyz but I see he has already been nominated, so I want to nominate abc." People might not nominate anyone at all if their choice was already nominated.

(which is good in a way, it gives me motivation to get to know the works of more people!)

Is it sheer number of nominations? This seems tricky, because not as much in poetry as in stories... but I saw a lot of early virgins all nominating the same person over and over, as if they were born to push their choice.

There are so many people who deserve it, I guess the details might not matter at all, but I thought it might be nice to know how it works.

Can Seattle et al nominate someone too?

Well, there can only be, at the most, 10 nominees, because that's how many slots a poll can have.

Laurel usually selects the 5 with more nominations but, in cases of the Poet and Writer of the year, she has been known to pick more. I remember that two years ago there were 9. But yes, always based on who has more nominations.

I don't foresee any problem with Seattle nominating people. You don't have to be a genius to figure out where all those virgin posters are coming from. At least Seattle has been around for a while and has published work. ;)

Thanks Lauren :) I thought that was how it worked, but was not sure.

I don't think Seattle will put in any nominations, though :) now that the survivor thing started, I think I have to give anna all the points. Let seattle passion I guess. It was time to consilidate anyway.

There are so many good poets, that it is hard just to narrow down to one. Maybe next year we can vote more than once :D

P.S. does the prize have anything to do with naked gold statues giving blow jobs and such?

Hey! What's 'that' thread doing here? LOL :D

love this quote--
have you read anything by Temple Grandin?
Thinking in Pictures is a good example.

This is the issue facing many autistic people, they do not imagine with language.

Hm, no I haven't. I will investigate though. I have changed my quote maybe once or twice, but can't seem to part with this one :)

Are you referring to the statues or to something else? :D

Giving and receiving is the same in all ceremonies. But if you would like, I can demonstrate :D
