In this category, please nominate the poet who affected you the most in 2003. Whose poems did you seek out and enjoy? Who made laugh/cry/etc.?

Poet must be an active Literotica author who submitted stories during the year 2003.

One nomination per member, please.

And again, I get to make the first pick. Yay for me.

I nominate Angeline.

Thank you, Risia!

And I nominate Lauren Hynde.

edited to add--

not just for her poetry--which I feel has grown so beautifully over the year--but for her willingness to help others on the forum with well you name it, and for her unwavering belief in the poetry forum as a good, constructive place. Oh yeah, and she's a fearless lil babe--she'll write, illustrate, argue--she doesn't care--she's a natural leader.

(and it's killing me that I can only name her because there are a few others--ok Eve, lol--who I want to nominate just as much)

To a poet that's always present, writing, commenting, and just being fishy, I nominate Rybka.

you know, I'm gonna have to go with denis hale.

His poetry makes the ordinary, extraordinary, in a way I can relate to, raw, gritty, intensely determined to make you feel him.

Influenced? yeah, completely.

thanks, denis, for being here and showing me it's ok to write not only what I feel, but how I feel.

honorable mention:
icingsugar and angeline<I know I'm a cheater>
:D

My nomination..

I nominate annaswirls. Very soon after she arrived I started looking for her work and was never disappointed. She has great insight and humour.

Somehow - her nickname is perfect for her.

There are only two poets I regularly check up on and since one is already nominated I'll nominate sweetsubsarahh. I know there is a lot about poetry I don't understand, but I do know her works are accessible even to a novice like myself and she can paint vivid pictures with words.

I nominate darkmaas.

His poetry and comments had me looking at things in new ways. (Teaching this old dog new tricks? (whaddaya mean cliche??? I hear it all the time!))

Cordelia

I nominate...

I nominate Tristesse. This lady never fails to surprise us, with her forays into audio and illustrated poetry she sets new standards. :D

I nominate:

Maria2394

Excellent poetry, but beyond that, she supports the other poets, consistently commenting on poems, posting challenges, posting to challenges, etc. She helped make me feel welcome here.

jim :)

HOW CAN YOU SAY ONLY ONE?

Maria for introducing, making me feel welcome, encouraging, poetry
Angeline for helping, encouraging, poetry
Rybka for infinite knowledge and help, tossing roses and proses
Icing for helping, encouraging, poetry
Tristesse for helping encouraging, poetry
OT for sauciness and help, poetry
Jthserra for helping many times, his poetry and encouragment
Anna for helping, encouraging and poetry
Darkmass, Lauren, Cordelia and Wicked Eve, Neo, Denis Hale for poetry
and Anon too
(Forgive me if I have forgotten anyone, I am sure I must have)
Smith Peters, Croissante, and many more promising new poets up and coming much better than I.

and each and every one of you who have taken the time to read and try to understand all poems out there and write out reviews and thoughts/comments

ONE YOU SAY?

I would have to say Jim Jthserra has influenced me most for the short time I was a member of Lit in 2003 with his help, words of encouragment and his poetry and stories.

I am new and have been a dry thirsty sponge, so I have been influenced by all of the mentioned and more, but mostly by

SmithPeter

who reminds me with much of his work that it is okay to be more about the feel than the form. I respect those who can do both. I can't, I don't.

I do not know anything about poetry but I do know what influences me.

Rock on.

Ah, one poet...

I have 3:
1. denis hale because he writes poetry with a machine gun instead of a pen.

2. Angeline because she writes spirits out of poetry instead of poems about spirit

3. Icingsugar because he puts the pulse of his spine into words instead of writing poems from his head.

And since, 1 and 2 are mentioned, I'd like to nominate Icingsugar.

Angeline, for the same reason Liar mentioned (beautifully put), and because she is such a lovely blokette.

I've only recently started reading the poetry on Lit (I know, what can I say? I got distracted by the porn!) so I don't have enough of a feel yet to make a nomination. I just wanted to say I keep coming back to this thread because the nominations are all so well written and so much fun to read.

Darn talented poets...

- Mindy, with admiration to all

okay, I didnt jump right in because I have been influenced by so many wonderful people on Lit in such a short time.

Thanks to Angeline, OT, Rybka and Neo, Anna and so many others for always being there for me when I need advice or just a shoulder to whine on... hope I can repay the debt someday..but what it all comes down to, is if Wicked Eve had not recommended my very first poem I posted, I would not have ever found this forum and learned so much I feel I have learned already...

so, I nominate Wicked Eve..thank you woman, you rock!! :rose:

Master_Vassago

I love his stuff and it appears his poems are the most read.

Since all the poets I've read, learned, and enjoyed this past year have already been nominated at least once in this thread, except Cordelia then:

I nominate Cordelia for most influential poet.
