The Weak starts off with a bang!

Trump impeachment drive launched by Democratic mega donor

A billionaire Democratic donor is putting some of his vast wealth toward a campaign to impeach President Donald Trump by petitioning elected officials across the country to take a stand on removing him from the White House. Tom Steyer, a former hedge fund manager who has poured millions of dollars into Democratic candidates and causes, launched a television ad campaign this week together with a website titled "Need to Impeach" in which people can sign up to petition lawmakers.

“Whether by the nature of Mr. Trump’s relationship with Vladimir Putin and Russia, his willingness to exploit the office of the Presidency for his personal gain and treat the government like a family enterprise, his conduct during Charlottesville, his decision to pull out of the Paris climate accords, or his seeming determination to take the nation to war, he has violated the Constitution, the office of the Presidency, and the trust of the public,” Steyer said in an open letter on the website. “He is a clear and present danger to the United States of America.”

Plus:
Steyer could yet have a role beyond simply financing an impeachment campaign. The environmental activist on Sunday said he was weighing up contesting the California Senate seat currently held by Democrat Dianne Feinstein. The veteran senator has attracted criticism from the left of the party for her cautious tone when discussing impeachment and instead calling for “patience.”

At 84 Dianne is beyond her useful years. Primary the bitch!

Trump tweets he will allow release of Kennedy assassination files

US President Donald Trump said Saturday he will allow long blocked secret files on the 1963 assassination of John F Kennedy to be opened to the public for the first time.

The November 22, 1963 assassination -- an epochal event in modern US history -- has spawned multiple theories challenging the official version that Kennedy was killed a lone gunman, Lee Harvey Oswald.

So the release of all the secret documents has been eagerly anticipated by historians and conspiracy theorists alike.

Trump's announcement followed reports that not all the files would be released, possibly to protect still relevant intelligence sources and methods.

But Trump appears to have decided otherwise.

"Subject to the receipt of further information, I will be allowing, as President, the long blocked and classified JFK FILES to be opened," he said in the tweet.

The files are due to be opened in their entirety Thursday nearly 54 years after Kennedy's assassination in Dallas -- unless the US president decides otherwise.

Trump better avoid "Grassy Knolls" for a while.

The only reason he would do this is to distract from something else. I wonder what major issue he doesn't want reported?

Was it Cruz or Rubio who said Tromp's father was involved in the JKF hit? Probably false, but yeah, when the illusionist waves his right hand and flashes rings or shiny cards, we wonder what he's hiding in his left hand. Probably an executive order banning dissident thought. Get ready for that midnight pounding on your door.

Was this a tongue-in-cheek question? It was Trump who said Cruz's father was involved in the JFK assassination.

Trump was just deflecting the suspicion that GHWB was involved in his CIA/Cuban/Oil Cartel/Mafia role. :)

John McCain Prefers Presidents Who Didn’t Have Imaginary Bone Spurs During Vietnam

John McCain took the opportunity in a C-SPAN interview aired Sunday night to remind America that not everyone spent FIVE AND A HALF YEARS, ALAN, as a POW in North Vietnam. Some people, McCain said, had a fine time during the late ’60s getting shitty grades at Wharton and pretending they were so laid up by bone spurs that miraculously healed up all on their own. No names or anything. But we have a pretty good idea who McCain had in mind.

McCain moves in for the rhetorical kill:

"It was a tumultuous time, and most of it was bred by the conflict. And one aspect of the conflict, by the way, that I will never ever countenance is that we drafted the lowest-income level of America, and the highest-income level found a doctor that would say that they had a bone spur. That is wrong. That is wrong. If we are going to ask every American to serve, every American should serve."

I didn't know you could cure 'bone spurs' with cocaine and hookers?

Weren't the Kennedy files scheduled to be released anyway? Trump is trying to take credit for something that was supposed to happen even if he hadn't set foot in the White House.

Release was subject to a presidential veto. He apparently isn't exercising that.

Why Trump Will Regret Passing Tax Reform

What else is keeping the GOP establishment in line behind him?
Since Congress appears unable or unwilling to move on almost anything, any tax cut bill—let alone the biggest and best in the history of the world, as the president envisions—will have to overcome serious challenges. But the real problem for Trump is not another legislative failure, but a victory. To paraphrase the immortal words of Admiral Ackbar, the tax cut bill is a trap. If Trump actually does sign it into law, he might as well be signing his political death warrant.

I say this not because tax cuts are a bad idea, or unpopular. Nor because tax relief will be invariably characterized, as it always is by liberals, as a giveaway to the rich. The reason the tax cut bill is a danger to Trump is that it’s the one last thing keeping the bulk of his own party in line behind him.
Yes, there's a Gup establishment and no, Tromp ain't part of it. That establishment wants to use Tromp as a tax-cutter so their own corporate donations will keep flowing. Once that's assured, they don't need Crazy Donny any more. They might even impeach him and put their own tool Pence in place.

Ted Cruz wants Trump to release the JFK files to prove his dad wasn’t part of the conspiracy

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said he wants President Donald Trump to release the files related to President John F. Kennedy assassination.

In an interview with TMZ, Cruz said he wants the president to release the files to prove his father had no relation to the assassination plot, as Trump has suggested.

When asked if he believed Trump would release the JFK files as he’s suggested, Cruz responded that he “certainly hope so.”

“They should be public,” Cruz said.

An ex-Army sniper turned mafia hit man confessed that he fired the fatal shot from the Grassy Knoll. His confession seems coherent, complete, and believable.

Julain Assange confirms: Trump-connected data firm asked me to find Hillary Clinton emails

On Wednesday, WikiLeaks co-founder Julian Assange confirmed that Cambridge Analytica — the shadowy, far-right-funded data analysis and collection firm — came to him in search of hacked emails from Democratic 2016 presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

The Daily Beast said that Cambridge Analytia director Alexander Nix contacted Assange in search of an alliance.

Trump defenders have tried to paint Nix as unreliable, but Assange confirmed on Twitter that the company — which is largely financed by Republican mega-donors Robert and Rebekah Mercer — reached out to him and was rejected.

Some GOP lawmakers think Trump ‘might be suffering from early Alzheimer’s’

David Brooks tucked away a startling nugget in Friday’s column, which made a lengthy comparison between Trump and Steve Bannon’s takeover of the GOP and the Bolshevik takeover of Russia one century ago.

“The Republican senators went to the White House and saw a president so repetitive and rambling, some thought he might be suffering from early Alzheimer’s,” Brooks writes. “But they know which way the wind is blowing. They gave him a standing ovation.”

I disagree! Trump is in the later stages of Terminal Asshholishness!

Conservative ‘Washington Free Beacon’ commissioned and funded first half of salacious dossier

Conservative news site “Washington Free Beacon” told the House Intelligence Committee Friday that they were behind the commissioning and funding of the anti-Donald Trump dossier by Chris Steele.

The Free Beacon is funded primarily by billionaire Paul Singer, who runs a New York hedge fund. However, an associate of Singer’s said that he was not aware that Steele was involved in the dossier until January 2017, when the dossier was made public.

Singer supported Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) until he dropped out. After that, Singer became a leading funder of the “Never Trump” efforts to block him from the GOP nomination.
