I just read an article on the decline in viewership, an it contained the seeds of truth in it,
and the writer/analyst was completely oblivious to it. The brag was that the presenters
were so hip and so relevant to the youth culture, but that culture doesn't watch TV and
the people that do watch TV absolutely hate the harpies the picked to present,
Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes in particular. They aren't funny, they aren't charismatic,
they're mainly mean, divisive and have an audience measured in the tens. Even the
shooter Alec Baldwin and some of his brothers would have been a better pick.

I watched part of a Jeff Foxworthy thing on Netflix and was struck by how stale his jokes were and all the good old days dogwhistles about race, guns, misogyny…yet he has millions of fans.
