I'm posting this thread to officially kick off the "2021 Literotica Geek Pride Story Event”. Laurel will be creating the Event Page shortly - and submissions can be sent in between May 15th and May 24th, with a Tuesday May 25th Go Live Date. That's SIX MONTHS AWAY. Plenty of time for you to write something!

And for 2021, there WILL be a link to the event from the Literotica Home Page - an unfortunate oversight in 2020.

This thread is to SUPPORT and ENCOURAGE authors to enter stories in the 2021 Literotica Geek Pride Story Event. If you have questions, post them here and someone will answer. It might be me, it might be someone else here but don't be shy. Ask.

Here on Literotica, in recognition of Geek Pride Day, one of our fellow writers, PuckIt, organized the inaugural Literotica Geek Pride Day Story Event on May 25th, 2018. This was such a popular event with writers and readers last year that we ran it again in 2019 and 2020, and we’re enthusiastically running it again for 2021!

... and as PuckIt isn't available, Chloe's volunteered once again to kick the Geek Day Event off on his behalf and at least try and answer any questions. (Although I may plead for help if the answers to the questions are beyond me).

The 25th of May was first organized as Geek Pride Day in 2006 by the Spanish blogger Germán Martínez (known online as Señor Buebo). Since then, Geek Pride Day has slowly gained international recognition (in certain Geek circles) and we on Literotica want to do our bit to celebrate Geek Pride.

So let your freak flag fly! Write a story for Literotica’s 2021 Geek Pride Day Story Event.

So let the Force guide your fingers. Start writing! This isn’t a “by invitation only” event. This isn’t a competition. There’s no placing. There’s no prizes. This is for the sheer joy of writing alongside a bunch of other Literotica writers. This is for anyone on Literotica who would like to try it out. You don't have to have written anything before to write for this event. First time writers and veteran Literoticans alike are all invited and encouraged to participate.

The Rules are actually really simple
1. Have an awesome idea with some kind of geeky theme. Sci-Fi or Fantasy is the most likely category, but if you want to get geeky in any other category, you go for it!
3. Any geeky subject, any category, any length you like. But please, only stand-alone stories (if you want to clarify that, just ask right here in this Official Support Thread).
4. Author must copy and paste the phrase "2021 Literotica Geek Pride Story Event " in the "Notes" field of the submission. We recommend that you COPY & PASTE it into the NOTES field to avoid typos.
6. Please use “Geek Pride” as a story tag.
7. All entries to be submitted by 11:59pm, May 24th - with a Go Live Date of Tuesday May 25th. You can submit any time between May 16th and May 24th. All stories will be posted on Tuesday May 25th.

That’s it.

So what are you waiting for? Start writing?

Lastly, a special thank-you to PuckIt for originating this very fun story event.

I'm glad to see this is back. I have a story I worked on but did not finish for the last such event. It's not Sci Fi but Sci Fi Cosplay. Looking forward to trying to get it done this time.

Geek Pride Day is my Christmas, Easter AND Birthday rolled into one chainmail-bikini-wearing, curvy package. No way in Hell am I missing that.

I'm in. OF FUCKING COURSE I'm in. No idea what I'll be doing this time, since for three times in a row now, my carefully laid plans have backfired and I basically started from scratch a few weeks before the deadline. Not that I'm complaining. "Rembrandt Legacy", "Mud & Magic" and "Express Delivery" are all among my best-rated stories.

I think I'll stay away from trying a sequel to any of the above and instead kick off something new. Again. :)

Is a stand-alone story set in some of the same places as a series and referencing some of the events of that series permitted?

Absolutely. The idea behind the "stand alone" rule was to encourage people to write something new instead of simply posting just another chapter in a series. Having a story take part in the same universe as something released previously is okay. I did that with both "Rembrandt Legacy" and "Express Delivery" which are set in my SF universe.

Please forgive me, but what IS meant by "Geek" ?

The word geek is a slang term originally used to describe eccentric or non-mainstream people; in current use, the word typically connotes an expert or enthusiast obsessed with a hobby or intellectual pursuit, with a general pejorative meaning of a "peculiar person, especially one who is perceived to be overly intellectual, unfashionable, boring, or socially awkward".

What he said :D

Like an obsessed ham radio operator...

As a proud geek, I want to contribute however had NO idea what to write about.

Then my friend mentioned that when she gets a brand new set of dice for role-playing, she attunes them by putting them in her bra for several hours.

So, now I have to come up with sexy ways to "attune" dice.

I like it. Imagination is a wonderful thing.

I missed the 2020 event but my 2019 entry (link in sig) was where I created a couple of my favorite characters, Asha the ‘vampire’ (sorta) and Tracy the math geek. Chloe’s definition covers it for me, Asha likes ‘hunting’ geeks - seducing them then sucking out their energy. Tracy’s a socially awkward and obsessed but cute math student. Her fashion sense is, um, nonexistent, she loves Dr. Who and most especially for Asha’s desires, she’s a virgin. Of course, Tracy isn’t quite the naïf Asha thinks she is and she turns the tables on her pursuer. But since Asha’s ‘day job’ (so to speak) is accounting, who’s the real geek here? Seduction happens but not everything else goes to plans.

But I can’t use them for my 2021 entry because they’ve ended up in their own series which has been quite popular, so anything with them as the two MCs is essentially an entry in that series.

Fortunately, I have a plan. Yes, yes, I do. A cunning plan. So cunning that if it was a fox it could be appointed Professor of Cunning at Oxford University.

Well it’s not a competition so if you feel a story with the same characters coming on, go for it.

Ah, I hadn’t made that distinction. Per other comments, most of my contest and event entries have been in a shared universe, but I’d focused on new characters and existing characters either didn’t appear or made cameos. This would work well with the germ of the idea I’d implied above.

I'm in!

An upsetting interlude at a Clone Farm. I'm sure it'll be as fun as it sounds, too.

Last year was lost nerds and butt plugs. This year.... Not much so far. All I have so far is the title, 'The Nerdy Dirty Girl'. That and a picture for inspiration. Now to find the start, the middle, and the end.

ETA: 880 words in. Introducing main character and giving glimpses inside her head.

And, just like that, it's done! That came together fast, though it's not even 10k words. Slightly Heinlein-ish.

I've not done "cerebral" in quite awhile. This might even attract a dozen readers! :D

“Beware of Geeks Baring Dicks”

Mine hasn't got a title. Or, more accurately, it's got a few.

It's inspired by the Ship of Theseus, but applied to a guy who's got a few clones to provide him with spare parts. I feel like I could play up the philosophy and knock out another 12k words, easily, but I also sort of want people to, y'know, enjoy reading it...

Lol.

Mine has only progressed to 1300 words but I have reached the point of heading the story somewhere. So many directions or is that too many directions. Decisions, decisions.

She: A graduating university senior getting her BS in Mathematics. Petite thing who has zero fashion sense and spends much more time thinking about sex then actually having it. That said, boys are fine, girls are fine, both at the same time? Even better... at least, the two times she managed it... But what she really likes is to find rookies, the geekier the better, that she can use, abuse and lose. At least, that's the theory.

He: A glasses wearing Computer Science freshman. He figured getting out of the hell that was high school would provide some useful sexual opportunities. It hasn't quite worked out that way. But... wait... his math tutor... More petite then he always thought he'd like, but... Oh, wait. That dark-haired weirdo she hangs out with, the girl who wears devil horns... Oh, wait... his math tutor's red-headed friend... red... headed... friend. Red hair... and plenty of curves...

The red-headed curvy friend who also likes to find geeky rookies... but... well, she's a vampire. She has... other uses for them.

Ok. This could get messy.

It may not scale the philosophical heights but, well, if I could write like James Joyce, I might still write this story.

Still not quite sure what to write, but at least a few vague ideas are brewing. I'm itching to fulfil my chainmail bikini quota, i.e. something pulp-y with a female heroine in a gritty, ruthless low-fantasy world, but at the same time, I'd like to toss in shapeshifting aliens. Maybe I'll do a Karl Edward Wagner hommage and mix both. Seems like fertile ground for some funsies.

A Dungeons & Dragons player is attuning a new set of dice by hanging them in a dreamcatcher. During the night, he dreams himself into a series of sexy fantasy scenarios.

Spoiler alert - he bangs.
