The 2016 Election Presidential Debate Thread

You really need to hold up untill kill Killswitch can start this thread. He's part of the DNC rapid response team, doncha know.

Dem leaders should be all over the NFL letter story.

Trump has no reason not to publish it now, if it exists. None. ;)

I'm stocking up on popcorn. Should be extra entertaining this year.

I don't know if people are hip to this new technology thing called DVR - but you can have your football and your debate too!

Now if only there were cake involved.

The election is going to come down to whether or not there is an radical Islamic mass shooting the first week of November.

If there is, Trump is going to win.

If not, Hillary will.

Nononononono. Live football only.

In the era of social media, spoilers abound if you're not watching it live. And, even if you avoid social media, the person next to you doesn't. And talks.

I'll give you spoilers - both teams will have the ball at some point. The ball will be thrown and kicked. Men will get tackled while running with the ball. One team will win and one team will lose.

I wonder why ESPN hasn't called me yet offering me a job as a sports commentator.

How about a taco bowl from Drumpf Tower Grill made by "Hispanics" instead?

 :D

OR I could just go to Taco Bell - both are probably equally ethnic and paid about the same.

Lolol

Trump is, no surprise, already challenging the debates themselves.

He says the NFL told him they want them changed, too.

(Unless, of course, they didn't...)

Well, who could have predicted that?

These posts were all made just five days ago:

I predict there will only be two presidential debates, but just one wouldn't surprise me.

Much like I predict there will be nothing but deflection in this thread. Got to keep those super predators under heel after all.....

Hillary will not want to debate at all. Her schtick is that she is not quick on her feet, so she has very carefully scripted memorized responses to the questions she knows will be asked (also knowing that thanks to the cozy relationship between the DNC and the press that certain questions will not be asked) and what political responses will come out of the other party's candidate, but she cannot go off script without making a gaffe.

Now she will be up against a non-politician and he and his followers don't give a shit abut gaffes as long as he can flabbergast her and take her off script and like Saladin, lead her crusade out into the desert. He is quick on his feet and will stop dead in their tracks any member of the debate panel who tries to go Candy Crowley on him, something the Republicans haven't done since Newt Gingrich.

Clinton is actually a pretty good debater, and I think the debates helped her (they also tended to help her in 2008), even if the DNC originally wanted fewer of them in order to limit exposure for her challengers.

But when, as I predict, it's Trump who tries to change the rules of the debates, or attempts to back out in part or entirely, you'll be reminded of these posts.

LMAO

Trump is going to do everything he can to get her screeching and/or coughing. And he'll succeed because at her core she's a low class, self-entitled, bitch. Everyone knows, they just don't have the balls to admit it.

And the press will call Trump "mean" for causing her to go off the rails. Obviously the Russians, Chinese, and our other adversaries will be oh so much kinder.

The pundits and the press will do everything they can to spin away her meltdown, but those cough-bites/screech-bites will be on Utube and will be there FOREVER.

You're right, it won't be much of a debate. It'll be more like Jerry Springer and Trump is going to make damn sure that that's the way it plays out.

Ishmael

I didn't say that; when she was in a controlled format, by the moderators and the reticence of the other candidate to say anything that might lead to charges of sexism (remember a guy named Lazio?) that she is able to recite a practiced, polled and focus-grouped reply that looks pretty smart and good (until you compare it to her positions of the week before) but she is not going to be in her comfort zone against Trump, who welcomes the debate, will debate under any rules and not pull out of the first one, but might for subsequent debates if he gets her off message, or gets her to crack like Cap'n Queeg, if it just a brief glimpse into the private, mercurial Hillary that we are starting to get a clear picture of from various sources that were with her in the White House.

She will back out.

It is a shame for the paid protesters she hires they will not have a gig......

That is a very real possibility. The premise under which she does so will be interesting. And Trump will be all over that as well.

I guess she thinks she can run the Bernie playbook against Trump. People want to see them rip each other apart but not if they have to choose between that and watching football.

Oh I'm skipping the football for this gore show. :D

There's another option, people can record the debate.

As long as they don't air on Tuesdays and interrupt Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., I'm good.

Now that is funny. We already know who the screeching guttersnipe is and it's not Hillary.

The fact of the matter is most people really won't "watch" the debates.

If they tune in, all they want to see is how their candidate "won."

If they don't watch, the next day their preferred media outlets will tell them who "won," and it will be their candidate.

The truth is that the Democrats have far more impartial and objective journalists in their corner than do the Republicans. There is very little chance that the debates can change this dichotomy...

Maybe I will grab some past debate clips for the fun of it. Actually I would like to see any of you find a clip of Hillary making a gaffe or screeching during a debate.

The truth is the Democrats have more voters in Presidential elections, and it will stay that way despite Republicans trying to change that. Hello Texas, Wisconsin, North Carolina.

Guttersinpe?

CumGuzzlingGutterWhore.

If the gutter fits.

Anyone remember Vettebigot insisting that Romney won the debate then having to admit he didn't see it but Drudge told him so? Good times.
