It's that time of year again. Time to shake those holiday pounds and get healthy once again.

I think I'll start with a salad for lunch. Then have a nice lower body workout in the gym later.

I am giving up 95% of my usual daily milk intake, my one true morning coffee food vice. I love iced coffee but am in the habit of drinking it milk based ( really it's just a cold latte). Coffee addicted yet usually only in the morning so that equates with 2 less glasses of saturated fats at the start of the day. Sounds pretty bad when I see it written like this. Not concerned about calcium deficiency we eat fish several times a week and leafy greens daily. Reverting back to a fairly traditional Japanese diet, adding tofu though less emphasis on rice and soba noodles etc.

Going to also make an effort not to be so heavy handed with the coffee and bumping up my daily water intake ( usually do that in Summer anyway ).

I wish it were summer here. It's the coldest day of the year so far. Going down to 19 tonight. I'm kicking Al Gore's global warming ass.

Just drank a whole glass of milk, and had a green salad for lunch; sans dressing. That count?

77 °F / 25 °C here currently and it's only 9.41am. Sarong weather.

Where are you from Rebecca? Its about -10°C where I am. Well -10°C is still okay tbh, we had -30°C two years ago, that was too cold even for me LOL.

Ahhh just got back from the gym... man it feels good. I'm tired .. exhausted.. but I just feel soo good..

I'm switching to more of a body for life approach today. Upper body twice one week, legs twice the next week. Three lifting days a week. Three days of cardio at least.

Being lazy is a lot easier.

I was hoping if I got daily emails saying there were updates to this thread that I'd start feeling guilty & that might motivate me to do more. <wanders off to go eat a salad with cranberries>

well I belong to a local fitness club and tend to go there for 6 am on most week mornings, plus once on weekends.

the 6 am classes are aerobics, weights, yoga

I wont say its easy, but the routine is set, and I couldn't do it without being surrounded by other women for motivation

I walked 3 miles with my Nordic poles. Tuesday will be so nice I may take the bike out.

Usually, it's just hiking for me, but the dark winter days and bad weather (in the far north of Scotland) mean I need to do something else to shed the pounds until summer. I'll be joining the squash club, not because I like it, but because is the only thing in walking distance.

Note to self: Get a decent jock strap first, I pretty much ruptured something last time I played!
