I find it very difficult to believe that those figures come from the actual "porn" itself. With this material freely available all over the internet, what kind of morons would actually pay for it (assuming you'd want it in the first place).

I'm guessing much of the money is from side projects, legitimate acting gigs, merchandising toys, or whatever (though I don't know for sure).

Everything I've read is that the pay for most "porn" sex scenes is little more, and in some cases less, than what the average regular prostitute makes for the same amount of time for a lot less perverted/ disgusting activities. Its pretty much nothing for the average performer for what is expected.
