NYT needs their entire front-page to demonstrate America’s unemployment catastrophe

America’s staggering unemployment crisis was put into context on the front page of Saturday’s New York Times.

The newspaper used the entire sixth column to demonstate America’s drop in employment in context with a chart running across the top of the front page.

The chart appeared under the banner headline, “U.S. UNEMPLOYMENT IS WORST SINCE DEPRESSION.”

Is it November yet?

Trump is a desperate and dangerous man — as the virus he once had contempt for has him trapped

Imagine you’re dreaming, and it’s a really, really bad dream. It’s night, and something is chasing you down a dark street. You’re running and running and running, trying to get away. All the windows are dark. No lights are on in any of the houses and apartments along the street. You bang on doors, but no one answers. You try the door handles, but the doors are all locked. When you cry out for help, no words come out of your mouth. No one can hear you. You keep running and running and running…

Imagine you're Trumpski and dreaming you are LOSING! How can it be happening, LOSING!

This is why Donald Trump is awake at 2:30 a.m., rage-tweeting. When he sleeps, he dreams, and his dreams are nightmares. He’s a frightened, desperate man. Every day, he turns on his television, and the death count from the COVID-19 virus keeps going up. The economy — the precious economy, the one he’s so proud of for no particular reason — is tanking. His poll numbers are down. His approval ratings are down. He’s losing to Joe Biden in national polls and in every important swing state. Nothing he does is helping.

Nothing, Nada, Nope!

Trump’s support among seniors collapsing as voters are repelled by his coronavirus debacle: NYT

According to a report from the New York Times, support for Donald Trump among older voters is collapsing as voters are increasingly repelled by his bungled response to the coronavirus pandemic where he keeps upping the number of possible dead — and then calling his efforts a success.

The report, by the Times’ Maggie Haberman and Annie Karni notes that Republicans and Trump have been counting on seniors as a voting bloc to secure his re-election, but now see those same voters slipping away.

The report goes on to note that a recent poll shows that “Trump’s approval rating on the handling of the coronavirus was lower with seniors than with any other group other than young voters. And Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., the presumptive Democratic nominee, in recent polls held a 10-point advantage over Mr. Trump among voters who are 65 and older.”

Maybe he's losing in Florida!

“In the past, however, support from older voters would return when they were reminded of Mr. Trump’s hard-line stance on immigration and his vow to protect Social Security and other safety-net programs, policy positions they often agreed with, officials said.” the report states. “Their hope, they said, is that support from older voters will return now that Mr. Trump has phased out his self-congratulatory version of a fireside chat, where he excoriated reporters and Democrats and at one point suggested that disinfectants could potentially be used to treat coronavirus patients.

Perhaps Seniors are concerned about his Social Security Privatization? Ya Think?:D

‘Irreparable harm’: Trump asks Supreme Court to block order requiring release of secret Mueller grand jury evidence

The Trump administration has filed a motion with the U.S. Supreme Court asking it to block a lower court’s order requiring the release of secret grand jury evidence from the Mueller investigation into Donald Trump and Russia. The DOJ is arguing it will suffer “irreparable harm” if the high court does not grant its request to not be forced to hand the material over to Congress.

US prevents Security Council vote on pandemic: diplomats

The United States on Friday prevented a vote in the UN Security Council on a resolution on the coronavirus pandemic, apparently because it made implicit mention of the World Health Organization, diplomats said.

The text, under negotiation since March, called for a worldwide cessation of hostilities in conflict zones so governments can address the pandemic.

The US blocked a procedure that would have led to a vote on the resolution, the diplomats said.

Not content with killing Americans, Trump goes "Whole Hog" on the conflict zones too.

Prepare for and inverted Tailspin!

‘Republicans for Biden’ movement organizing to take down Donald Trump: ‘It’s going to take off’

One dynamic that has already clearly rattled President Donald Trump is “Never Trump” Republicans attacking him from the right.

This week, Trump repeatedly lashed out at the activists behind The Lincoln Project, who are long-time GOP operatives whose “Mourning in America” ad spread virally online.

Donald whimpers, "Nobody apprecaites what I've done to the...er, for the country!"

Now, according to a new report in The Daily Beast, there are efforts underway to organize a more formal “Republicans for Biden” effort.

“Interviews with several of the most prominent NeverTrump Republicans reveal that for now, the nascent effort is loosely defined and could ultimately take a variety of forms. But preliminary talks about messaging, engagement, leadership, and roll out are starting to be broadly sketched out,” The Beast reported, citing “sources directly familiar with the matter.”

Who are these principled Republicans?

“Among the GOP’s more ardent anti-Trump faction, several names came up in conversation when asked who could theoretically have a role in an outside political entity, which would not be allowed under campaign finance laws to coordinate with the campaign directly. Those names include former Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Wisconsin-based political analyst Charlie Sykes, conservative media giant Bill Kristol, former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele, longtime campaign operative Steve Schmidt, former Rep. David Jolly (R-FL), and columnist Mona Charen, among others,” The Beast reported.

All aboard!:D

‘Criminal negligence’: Trump officials ignored offer of 7 million N95 masks per month in early days of pandemic

Progressives on Saturday denounced an “infuriating” report which detailed the Department of Health and Human Services’ refusal to take an American company up on its offer to supply millions of N95 respirators to the government early on in the coronavirus pandemic.

The Washington Post reported that federal scientist Rick Bright, who filed a whistleblower complaint last week over his demotion following his criticism of the Trump administration’s response to the pandemic, detailed communications with Prestige Ameritech in January in which HHS ignored the medical supply company’s offer to produce masks.

The details Bright offered in his whistleblower complaint painted a picture of “criminal negligence,” wrote New York Times editorial board member Brent Staples.

On Friday, a federal probe found that there were “reasonable grounds to believe” that the Trump administration unlawfully retaliated against Bright by demoting him.

Sounds about right. Assemble the tumbrels!:):)

Pence had CEOs remove masks before meeting with him — hours after his press secretary tested positive for COVID-19

The Trump administration is not only ignoring CDC and medical experts’ guidelines it is actively working to make Americans less safe.

On Friday Vice President Mike Pence flew aboard Air Force Two to Des Moines, Iowa, to meet with food industry CEOs. His flight was delayed after his press secretary, Katie Miller, tested positive for coronavirus. Several staffers were forced to exit the plane before it took off. Also board were Iowa Republican Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst, and Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue.

Pence held a roundtable discussion at the headquarters of the Hy-Vee supermarket chain. As The Intercept reports, five industry executives, seated at the table, all wearing masks, were approached by a staffer who asked them to remove their masks before the Vice President would come to the table (video below.)

He didn't want them to look like bandits as they discussed the DOA grifting? :)

‘It is scary to go to work’: White House adviser terrified of West Wing after staffers get coronavirus

White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett revealed on Sunday that he fears going to work in the White House because of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

“Testing is a key component of it, but even testing doesn’t remove all risks,” Hassett told CBS host Margaret Brennan. “The interesting or sad thing about my dear colleague who was stricken with the coronavirus this week is that we were getting testing — because we’re close to the president every day — and even with that, she tested negative one day and then positive the next day. And she’s going to work in a community where people are being tested.”

How many false negatives occur with a Trump approved Test?

Mark Meadows said, "The White House is the safest place you can be."

And then the very next day that statement bit him in the ass... and the next day and the next. It's pandelerium now...

lmao

Trump is in ‘serious trouble and so is his party’ as their approval numbers collapse: Analyst

On Saturday’s edition of MSNBC’s “Weekends,” Democratic strategist Ed Kilgore suggested that President Donald Trump could ultimately meet the same political fate as Herbert Hoover — and take down the rest of the Republican Party in the process.

“You write that both Republican presidents, Hoover and Trump, are similar, in that both came to the White House never serving in the military, never have been elected office, both possessing great personal health, holding themselves in high esteem, but their family backgrounds and their personal character are quite different,” said host Alex Witt. “Explain the differences.”

“Well, President Trump is a man of great inherited privilege and wealth, you know, who did become a national celebrity but through a career of real estate and resort development, and then reality television,” said Kilgore. “Herbert Hoover was an orphan, very much a self-made multimillionaire, considered the world’s most brilliant engineer and manager, and he rose to national celebrity through several extraordinary acts of emergency management. He fed starving Europeans early in and after World War I. He was in charge of food supplies during World War I. Later as Secretary of Commerce, he led an enormous relief effort after a huge flood. He became known as the Great Humanitarian. He was very much a celebrity for different reasons than Donald Trump.”

“But right now he’s in some serious trouble and so is his party, which is in danger of losing control of the Senate along with the White House,” continued Kilgore. “I wouldn’t predict a 30-year drought for Republicans if that does happen. The American people are a bit more polarized between parties right now, so party allegiance is more stable than it was then, and on top of that, you know, there’s certain built-in strengths Republicans have in the Senate and the Electoral College which make it possible for them to be more powerful than their popular support.”

:)

Adam Schiff says Trump is trying to convince Americans ‘not to believe the transcripts’ of Russian scandal

Speaking to MSNBC’s Kasie Hunt, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said that the White House and President Donald Trump are trying to tell Americans not to believe what they read in the transcripts that were finally released from the House Intelligence Committee on Thursday.

“It’s pathetic, not surprising, but pathetic, the degree to which the vice president will mimic anything the president says,” said Schiff. “Apparently it’s not the vice president’s view a national security advisor that lies to him about contacts he’s having with the Russians, that’s perfectly fine, he’d be happy to have him around.”

“Let’s not forget what the lies were about,” Schiff continued. “The Russians interfered in our election in 2016 to help elect Donald Trump, and shortly thereafter, Barack Obama imposed sanctions on the Russians for interfering in our democracy. And then Mike Flynn has a conversation with the Russians and reportedly told the Russians, ‘don’t react to these sanctions.’ The implication being, ‘we’re going to make this problem go away.’ After all, we know the Russians helped elect Donald Trump, and this is what he lied about. He lied about those conversations with the Russians that were meant to undermine the sanctions imposed on their interference in our democracy.”

Judge Sullivan should announce the sentence, "Seven Years hard time, Mr. Flynn!?":D

Mike Pence’s office says he has no intention of following CDC quarantine rules after contact with COVID-19 positive staff

Bloomberg News reported that Vice President Mike Pence had officially decided to self-quarantine after one of his staffers came down with the coronavirus. However, Pence’s office has now announced that Pence has no intention of following social-distancing rules.

Vice President Pence will continue to follow the advice of the White House Medical Unit and is not in quarantine. Additionally, Vice President Pence has tested negative every single day and plans to be at the White House tomorrow,” said Devin O’Malley, Pence’s spokesperson.

He's not in Quarantine, but he staying home, but might going in, but in the abundance of caution, probably not, unless Donald calls him.

We hope Mrs. Miller recovers after she gives it to Steve.:)

Conservative Bill Kristol: ‘It’s too late for Republicans to unwrap themselves from Trump’

Conservative commentator Bill Kristol explained that the Republican Party has already gone too far in embracing President Donald Trump that they’ll never be able to untangle themselves, even if they want to.

Speaking to MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell, Kristol said that Americans understand that the White House has a lot more control over the people coming and out there, and they can’t even stop the spread of COVID-19 in their office.

Mitchell asked if Kristol is hearing Republicans being nervous about losing the Senate in the election.

“Very much so,” Kristol confessed. “They have wrapped themselves with President Trump, it’s too late for them to unwrap themselves, in my opinion, and voters may decide this party has botched its chance to govern. It did some things, I’d say if you’re a Republican, voted Republican in the past — they’ve done some things I agree with. But on this big crisis, which is a public health crisis and an economic crisis, what do they have to say? And I think this coming up the next package, where trump wants to sort of fight it, and they’re going to — Republicans will be cross-pressured on that. Yes, I think Republicans are at great risk in the Senate and I think Republicans think that as well.”

After backing Trumpski up for three years, republicans will forever be known as Trumpublicunts! You can't shake the stench off now gents!:)

The Trump administration’s ‘monstrous idea’: Direct payments in exchange for cuts to Social Security benefits

“Donald Trump and his administration will stop at nothing to cut Social Security.”

Suddenly concerned about the growing national debt now that corporations have secured access to trillions of dollars in Covid-19 bailout funds with little oversight, Trump administration officials are reportedly considering several proposals purportedly aimed at reducing government spending—including a pair of plans that would provide Americans with cash payments in exchange for delays or cuts to their Social Security benefits.

“They’re calling this monstrous idea the ‘Eagle Plan’ but it should be called the ‘Work ‘Til You Die Plan.’ The only reason to support it over simply sending people $2,000/month is to undermine our Social Security system.”
—Social Security Works

The “Eagle Plan” was crafted by a State Department official close to President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner, who forwarded the proposal to the White House Council of Economic Advisers. Art Laffer, a conservative economist and Trump adviser, told the Post that he supports the proposal.

Jared better hope it works better than Goreing's "Adler Tag" (Eagle Day, which broke the Luftwaffe).

With Seniors souring on Trump and needed for him to get re-elected it could be the straw that sank the Trumptanic!:)

Trump is making ‘the dumbest possible move’ with his newest campaign strategy: Nate Silver

President Donald Trump over the weekend has been ramping up attacks on former President Barack Obama, despite the fact that Obama will not be on the ballot in 2020.

FiveThirtyEight founder Nate Silver, however, thinks that Trump is making a historic blunder if he really tries to turn the 2020 election into a popularity contest between him and Obama.

‘Worst I’ve ever seen it’: Farmers watch helplessly as Trump’s promises evaporate in COVID-19 crisis

President Donald Trump promised farmers at the start of this year that historic trade deals would deliver huge gains to them, but just five months later some grocery store shelves sit empty as farmers are forced to euthanize livestock and throw away produce.

The coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc on the $2 trillion food industry and destroyed supply chains, and farmers find themselves far worse off than they had expected when Trump promised the best days are “yet to come,” reported the Washington Post.

Best Days will come when TRumpski is GONE!

Trumpski's Terrible Tuesday!

In all the weeks that I've tracked Donnie's dismal decent into devastation, today is the worst.

Trump demands ‘these votes must not count’ after California opens poll site in heavily Black area

President Donald Trump demanded that votes from a new voting location in a Los Angeles suburb with a large black population “must not count” as he lashed out at California for its attempts to make it easier Americans to vote.

Trump over the weekend inserted himself into the special election in California’s 25th Congressional District, which was vacated by former Rep. Katie Hill, D-Calif., who resigned last fall. The president complained on Twitter that California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, opened up a new poll site in Lancaster, which lies just north of Los Angeles, despite calls from both parties to do so.

Trumpski is concerned with people voting in any election since he knows that he can count on less that 30% of the idiots voting for his scum sucking sycophants!:)

But this is not the least of his worries.
