Mick Mulvaney makes bogus claim to avoid testifying as witnesses point to his central role in Trump’s quid pro quo

Hours after Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney claimed “absolute immunity” from cooperating with the House impeachment probe into President Donald Trump, Democrats leading the inquiry released sworn testimony from two key witnesses who placed the chief of staff at the center of President Donald Trump’s effort to pressure Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden.

“Mulvaney personally ordered the hold on Ukraine aid. His refusal to come forward and tell Congress why he did that is utterly damning.”
—Rep. Don Beyer (D-Va.)

The acting chief of staff reportedly informed House committees “one minute before” his deposition was scheduled to begin that he would not show up and asserted “absolute immunity.”

Schiff will say that this amounts to the crime of Obstruction of Justice and Contempt of Congress, Mick. :)

You can bet Rudy will flip. He will make the deal of the century with his four defence lawyers.
When he does, it will be the end of Barr, Mulvaney and trump.
Mind you, he'll need to avoid car accidents and heart attacks and "suicide" before the deal is done.

Defense, it's 'defense' lawyers!

Defence and defense are different spellings of the same word; yet belong to different forms of the English language. Defense is used in American English, and defence is used in British English, which spans Australian, New Zealand and Canadian English.
Given our head of state is QEII I'll stick with the British spelling.

Very well then! I stand corrected!

Donald Trump Jr. says fallen troops at Arlington National Cemetery remind him of Trump family’s ‘sacrifices’

Donald Trump Jr. compared the sacrifices of fallen troops to those his family made to get to the White House in his new book “Triggered.”

Don Jr., the son of a man who allegedly escaped the Vietnam War draft by obtaining a bogus doctor’s note claiming he had bone spurs in his foot, recalled the day before his father’s inauguration when President-elect Donald Trump brought his family to lay a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery in a passage highlighted by the Washington Post.

Standing there surrounded by the graves of more than 400,000 troops and their families, Don Jr. wrote, he could not help but think of his own families “sacrifices.”

Pulllese! I can think of a few Vets who would happily 'trigger' Donnie Jr.

‘Everything Trump touches dies’: President mocked for jinxing Alabama and ruining their perfect season

On Saturday, Trump traveled to the red state of Alabama to attend a football game in Tuscaloosa.

“Trump and First Lady Melanie were just shown on the stadium screens and received a loud ovation with some boos mixed in as he waved and stood,” according to the pool report.

White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham thanked the “supportive crowd” at the game, which Alabama lost — ending their perfect record.

It was their first home loss in four years.

Twitter was not amused!

God is punishing the crimson tide for complying with the forced cheering edict.

Alabama was undefeated...till Trump...everything he touches falls apart and DIES!

To recap for non-sports fans: @realDonaldTrump made Alabama lose a football game with his bad mojo.

They're also supportive of Roy Moore so that bar is pretty low.

The University threatened anyone who booed Trump would lose their season tickets!

Trump can spell prior restraint of Free speech,... with spell check.:)

Speaking about the "Warning", by Annomous, I found this quote:

"Not to put too fine a point on it, but Anonymous can bite me. I have no intention of shelling out a dime to read about how someone almost ran into the burning house to save the baby, or about how someone almost gave up their seat in the lifeboat when the great ship went down, or about how someone almost dove into a freezing river to save a busload of nuns, or, for that matter, about how someone almost decided not to be a part of the most monstrous executive administration since the (un)death of Vlad The Impaler. I am not interested in someone's heartfelt account of their near-collision with actual integrity. I decline to be fascinated by the tale of how someone nearly ran into courage on the street but had to catch a bus instead. Like I said, Anonymous can anonymously bite me."

-- Charles P. Pierce, Esquire Magazine, November 8, 2019

I will not buy this book either but will wait for the Anti-Trump press to excrete it, like the shit that it is.

OK Boomergate: The Roger Stone Story

"Why does your breath smell of Ari Melber's cock?" Roger Stone emailed his talk show host pal Randy Credico in April of 2018, perfectly encapsulating the hellscape we find ourselves in today. The Russians ratfucked our election, and the only guys getting punished are a couple of decrepit old hacks currently reciting their inane correspondence in a federal courthouse, trying to persuade a jury that one of these lying assholes is slightly more trustworthy than the other. And they're doing it using references to "The Andy Griffith Show," "The Lost Weekend," and a racehorse named Silky Sullivan whose come-from-behind style made him a big star in 1958. Because these cats are HEP!

Stone is charged with five counts of lying to Congress, obstruction, and witness tampering for his efforts to get Credico not to testify truthfully back in 2017. Even there Stone quoted Nixon's famous 1973 exhortation to "Stonewall it, plead the Fifth, anything to save the plan," and ordered Credico to "Do a Pentangeli," a reference to the 1974 Godfather II movie where a witness recants his testimony before Congress.

The man who had Richard "Dick" Nixon's face tattooed on his back, is lying his ass off and hoping he can bounce out of this like he has been doing for 40 years.

It will be interesting to hear how this turns out. :D

In a few Hours the Talking head will start and many a reputation will be tarnished or burnished by the give an take of pundits will be ignored for the football games!:eek:

Every Republican for himself: McConnell told senators in closed door meeting to come up with their own Trump defense

According to a report at HuffPost, Republican lawmakers, left without guidance by the White House on how to push back at the House impeachment hearings being conducted by the Democratic-led House, are being forced to come up with their own defense of embattled President Donald Trump.

With reports that the White House is the scene of a pitched battle over a which plan to use to fight the Democrats, Senate Republicans are floundering when confronted by the press on how they feel about impeachment hearings that could lead to them to have to vote on whether to force Trump from office.

According to the report, “Republicans have no unified argument in the impeachment inquiry of Donald Trump, in large part because they can’t agree on how best to defend the president — or for some, if they should.”

Noting, “it’s every Republican for himself or herself,” the report goes on to add, “The result is a mishmash of GOP commentary spilling from Capitol Hill that may shield lawmakers, for now, from risky political choices, but leaves them with a disjointed defense of Trump as impeachment hearings push into the public realm this coming week.”

Not quite "Abandon Ship" but more like "All You Fuckers Are On Your Own, I've got my own Problems!"

Rand Paul becomes latest GOPer to admit quid pro quo: Trump had ‘every right’ to extort Ukraine

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) on Sunday argued that President Donald Trump should admit he extorted Ukraine because he had “every right” to do it.

During an interview on Meet the Press, Paul tried to change the narrative when it comes to Trump’s attempt to get Ukraine to manufacture dirt on Joe Biden.

“I think it’s a mistake to say, oh, he withheld aid until he got what he wanted,” Paul said. “Well, if there is corruption, he has every right to withhold aid.”

Oh there is corruption all right, but it was Trumpski doing it!

Jim Himes coldcocks Chuck Todd seconds after he lets Rand Paul lie: ‘My head is only now decombusting’

Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT) called out NBC host Chuck Todd on Sunday for allowing Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) to spin President Donald Trump’s extortion of Ukraine.

“When Rand Paul says that’s exactly the same thing as the president of the United States saying you need to find dirt on my political opponent,” the congressman said.

“With all due respect, Chuck, when you say do two wrongs make a right?” Himes added. “Let’s be very clear, the president of the United States demanding, extorting a vulnerable country to do his political bidding, to go after his political opponent has nothing to do with Joe Biden executing the policy or Hillary Clinton doing opposition research on her presidential opponent those are radically different things and what the president did is wrong and impeachable.”

Maybe we can put Trumpski's WALL to good use?

GOP’s John Kennedy caves on defending extortion — but claims Trump didn’t have ‘culpable state of mind’

Kennedy falls back on the "Too Dumb to know!" Defense.

Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) on Sunday argued that President Donald Trump may not be guilty of a quid pro quo with Ukraine if he did not have a “culpable state of mind” when he allegedly tried to extort the country’s president.

Kennedy made the remarks while speaking to CBS News host Margaret Brennan.

“The quid pro quo, in my judgment, is a red herring,” Kennedy opined before agreeing that it would be “over the line” for Trump to ask Ukraine to conduct an investigation into Joe Biden.

“I think this case is going to come down to the president’s intent, his motive, did he have a culpable state of mind?” Kennedy said.

That is sure to HELP!

CNN’s Tapper drops mic on Lindsey Graham over his ‘jarring’ transformation into full-fledged Trump defender

State of the Union host Jake Tapper used his closing comments on Sunday morning to call out Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) for failing to do his job and look at the facts that have been revealed about President Donald Trump following the release of a whistleblowers complaint.

Standing before a large video screen, displaying some of Graham’s comments in defense of the president, the CNN host implored the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman to do his job.

How many Rethuglicunts will fall on their own swords to protect Trumpski?
"We'll have a blue, blue Senate, with out you..."

Every Republican for himself: McConnell told senators in closed door meeting to come up with their own Trump defense

Not quite "Abandon Ship" but more like "All You Fuckers Are On Your Own, I've got my own Problems!"

The problems for congressional Republicans in following a White House line in defense of Trump are (1) the line changes every ten minutes and (2) there's no defending the obviously indefensible. Each and every Republican is left trying to figure out how to personally survive and their ignoring the least-bad path--which is to disown him and dump him and to start collectivizing starting a true Republican Party anew.
