The 140th Weak of Deranged Deflections

Retiring Republican lawmaker blames Trump’s ‘petty, childish bullsh*t’ for massive GOP exodus

As the Washington Post reports, “Since Trump’s inauguration, a Washington Post analysis shows that nearly 40 percent of the 241 Republicans who were in office in January 2017 are gone or leaving because of election losses, retirements including former House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (Wis).”

Ten days later, Mitchell announced his retirement, explaining to the Post, “We’re here for a purpose — and it’s not this petty, childish bullshit.”

As for Trump’s tweets, Mitchell said they kept him from doing the job voters sent him to Congress for.

“Did any member of this conference expect that their job would start out every morning trying to go through the list of what’s happening in tweets of the day?” Mitchell suggested when it came to Trump’s Twitter habit. “We’re not moving forward right now. We are simply thrashing around.”

All the empty seats will have to be filled, probably with Democrats, now that Trumpski has poisoned the Republican brand.:)

Hate for Trump sets new record of Americans who can’t stand a president

A new poll shows a record number of Americans can’t stand the president of the United States.

According to the most recent NBC News/Wall Street Journal public opinion poll, an astounding 69 percent of Americans don’t like Trump personally.

31% is a loosing base!:D:D:D:D

“Given Trump’s long-standing unpopularity, a big question has always been whether he will be able to take the eventual Democratic nominee and drag them down to his level,” Blake wrote. “He showed he could do it in 2016 with Hillary Clinton, who ended the campaign as unpopular as Trump was, but it’s not clear whether he’ll be able to do it again.”

He won't be up against a Hillary who was unliked by a hell of a lot of people even before Trumpski spread his poison. I doubt she would have even been nominated if the DNC hadn't stacked the deck.:)

Fox & Friends pushes lies and distortions about intel whistleblower: ‘Almost as if they heard a rumor’

“Fox & Friends” co-host Steve Doocy pushed inaccurate claims about a whistleblower complaint filed by an intelligence official against President Donald Trump.

The Fox News broadcaster downplayed the complaint, which reportedly involved Trump’s efforts to pressure Ukraine’s president to dig up dirt against Joe Biden, and falsely claimed that Congress had no authority to investigate.

“In this country, you know, we’ve heard a lot over the last couple of years about how the Democrats would like to impeach the president of the United States,” Doocy said, and co-host Brian Kilmeade feigned shock.

“Now, given the fact that we’ve got this Ukraine thing and then the whistleblower thing,” Doocy continued, “and by the way, did you hear the whistleblower complaint was filed by somebody who actually had no direct knowledge of it? It’s almost as if they had heard a rumor and filed it, and that apparently is why it does not fall into the standards for the intel whistleblower, law and that’s why it’s not going to Congress.”

As a deflection from "Ukriane-Gate" F&F push a Barr Story excuse. Fake News is alive and well on Fux and Fiends!

One of the GOP’s biggest sugar daddies is backing away from its congressional candidates — thanks to Trump

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is withholding its support for congressional Republicans heading into next year’s campaign.

Corporate chamber members want to distance themselves from President Donald Trump over concerns about alienating consumers, and has tried to rebrand the business group as centrist, reported the Washington Examiner.

The chamber insists that defending the GOP congressional majority remains the group’s top priority next year, but Republicans have complained the business group isn’t being aggressive enough in its support.

Oh, How will Rethuglicunts get re-elected if no one will give them money. The Horror!

‘A threat to virtually everything that the United States should stand for’: Scathing NYT op-ed on Trump goes viral

A damning piece by New York Times Opinion Columnist David Leonhardt is going viral. “Donald Trump vs. the United States of America” says it’s “Just the facts, in 40 sentences.”

That’s all it is.

40 sentences, 40 facts chronicling President Donald Trump’s lawlessness, self-dealing, un-American behavior, attempts to do real damage to vital institutions, and grotesque acts. Some are impeachable offenses. Some are just not worthy – or are disqualifying – of a president of the United States.

It concludes: “He is the president of the United States, and he is a threat to virtually everything that the United States should stand for.”

Yep!

Trump attorneys in a panic over New York court order he be questioned under oath: report

According to a report from Politico, attorneys for President Donald Trump are scrambling after a New York judge ruled late Friday that the president must submit to a videotaped deposition in the case dating back to 2015.

At issue is a lawsuit filed in the Bronx by protesters who claim they were assaulted by security personnel outside of Trump Tower before Trump became president.

“More than 200 years ago our founders sought to escape an oppressive, tyrannical governance in which absolute power vested with a monarch. A fear of the recurrence of tyranny birthed our three-branch government adorned with checks and balances,” she wrote in her ruling. “No government official, including the Executive, is above the law.”

Trump Only F*cked That Ukrainian Chicken Because He Loves America So Much

Welcome back, Wonkers. We regret to inform you this fine Monday morning that Donald Trump is still president, the Ukrainium One fuckery continues unabated, Democrats are still dithering about how many crimes Trump has to commit before they'll do impeachment for real, and Republicans are clomping around on national television in fishnets and clear heels purring that they love that corruption, the dirtier the better, baby.

In case you've been hiding under the covers, the president of the United States got caught redhanded trying to force the brand new president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, to frame Joe Biden for corruption. In fact, he brought it up eight times in the course of one phone call on July 25, at a time when the White House was blocking the release of $250 million of congressionally allocated funds for Ukraine because of concerns about corruption, despite the fact that the Pentagon had already completed its review and determined that the funds would be used for non-corrupt purposes. Then five minutes after the whistleblower complaint dropped, the White House had a come to Jesus moment and decided that Ukraine should get the cash right away, plus another $140 million for ... well, no one knows why. Also, Rudy Giuliani is BATSHIT INSANE.

It's all very well to be concerned about Ukrainian corruption, but a more pressing problem is Corruption in Congress and the White House.

Who can do anything about this, Voters!

Do not vote for the party, vote for the candidates who can make a serious argument with facts not emotions. Vote for the ones that appeal with logic and American Values, the rule of law and the equal justice. Vote for constructive plans not destructive bullshit.

War is destructive by it's very nature, so let's not wage war on anything but evil, and build on science and forward looking objectives.

Hold our political leadership accountable when they fuck up so badly that thousands die because Lockheed/Raytheon/MIC needs another cash infusion!

Yeah, It's Now O'Clock Time For Pelosi & Democrats To Impeach President Treason

Nancy Pelosi used to be the badass lady in charge. There were memes and everything. People sold t-shirts. It was us. But that was a long time ago -- about eight months -- and y'all liberals are fickle. Now the House Speaker is weak and actively complicit in Donald Trump's diverse criminal portfolio. There's been grumblings and complaints on social media, but Friday, unfettered badass Elizabeth Warren delivered a public smackdown and call to action.

"After the Mueller report, Congress had a duty to begin impeachment. By failing to act, Congress is complicit in Trump’s latest attempt to solicit foreign interference to aid him in US elections. Do your constitutional duty and impeach the president.

A president is sitting in the Oval Office, right now, who continues to commit crimes. He continues because he knows his Justice Department won't act and believes Congress won’t either. Today’s news confirmed he thinks he’s above the law. If we do nothing, he’ll be right."

Nancy's dither-ship is not how a leader acts.

Trump ‘really mad’ at Jared Kushner for jeopardizing his 2020 re-election chances with crime bill

President Donald Trump last year signed the First Step Act, a criminal justice reform package that was pushed strongly by son-in-law Jared Kushner.

However, Politico reports that the president has since soured on one of his few significant legislative accomplishments and is blaming Kushner for pushing him to back a bill that will not benefit him politically.

“He’s really mad that he did it,” one source close to the president tells Politico. “He’s saying that he’s furious at Jared because Jared is telling him he’s going to get all these votes of all these felons.”

The legislation, which passed on an overwhelmingly bipartisan basis, aims to reduce prison sentences and lower the number of Americans languishing in jail. However, Politico’s sources claim that Trump doesn’t believe anyone in his base wants to see fewer people imprisoned.

It's safe to say that Trumpski has very little compassion for felons that get caught with out a Bill Barr behind them.:)

‘No One Is Above the Law’: Pelosi Now Backs Impeachment Inquiry

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told fellow Democrats in the House on Tuesday that she supports the launch of impeachment proceedings into the president, in what represents a historic black mark for an administration not yet through its first three years in office.

The inquiry was prompted by allegations that Trump pressured Ukrainian officials to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son in exchange for military aid, though Pelosi has instructed several committees to compile impeachable offenses on other fronts as well.

Finally Nancy has unleashed the Dogs!

Meanwhile, Trump tweeted from the United Nations General Assembly that he would release an un-redacted transcript of his phone call with Zelensky as soon as Wednesday. Speaking at The Atlantic magazine festival in D.C. earlier Tuesday, Pelosi made clear that transcripts were the beginning, not the end, of attempts to get to the bottom of the Ukraine matter and that there were other issues that would inform impeachment proceedings beyond what happened in Ukraine.

After nine fucking months, Dems attack!

Fox News legal analyst: Trump admitted to a crime and it ‘absolutely’ is an impeachable offense

“Yes, it is the same crime for which the Trump Organization was investigated by Bob Mueller, who decided not to seek an indictment because there wasn’t enough evidence,” Napolitano agreed.

Smith asked if Rudy Giuliani’s involvement, at the aid and instruction of the State Department, meant that he too had committed a crime.

“If it was done in order to enhance the president’s reelection campaign, yes, it’s the same crime that the president would have committed,” said Napolitano. “If the president said, ‘I want you to investigate the principal opponent’s son,’ thinking to himself it’s going to help his campaign.”

He went on to say that the Trump administration is “on very thin ice” for blocking the inspector general from turning over a complaint to Congress because the statues dictate that it must be.

“Bribery absolutely it is an impeachable offense, there’s no equivocation,” he said. “And why do I say that? It’s stated in the Constitution. The basis for impeachment: Treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors. The president offered a bribe — if the president offered a bribe to the president of the Ukraine, that would be an impeachable offense.”

Trumpski has crimed! Rudy is complicit! Who's going to jail?

WIll Mike pardon him or just Laugh his ass off?:D

‘You’ve already convicted yourself’: George Conway blasts Trump for whining about impeachment

Conway, the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, debunked Trump’s claim that impeachment was a witch hunt because the transcript had not yet been released.

“They didn’t have to. You’ve already convicted yourself with your own words. (Also with some help from your fellow stable genius Rudy.) The only question to be resolved from the evidence will be, how much worse will it be than what you’ve already admitted,” Conway noted.

:D:D:D:D

Bill Barr is complicit too. He's involved in holding back a document that, by law, should have already gone to Congress--and that he should have no say in whatsoever. More than Trump need to be impeached. In fact, there's a whole bunch of Trump people who need to be swept out (in addition to those already gone for corruption and criminality).

Pence knew about and actually participated in Trump’s apparent Ukraine extortion plot: report

Now Mike is complicit too!

Congratulations, President Pelosi!:D:D:D

Vice President Mike Pence is seemingly complicit in President Donald Trump’s apparent extortion and bribery plot, based on the transcript of a press conference the VP held in Poland on September 2. At issue is a whistleblower’s complaint that the White House refuses to release. It is believed it says Trump repeatedly threatened to withhold military aid from Ukraine until, or in exchange for, that country digging up and handing over dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden. There is no evidence any dirt was found or even exists.

Trumpski, Pence, Barr and Munchin, all guilty!:D:D:D:D

Trump suffers late night Twitter meltdown after Democrats launch impeachment inquiry

President Donald Trump took to his favorite social networking platform late on Tuesday evening — after House of Representative Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced Democrats were launching an impeachment inquiry.

Trump praised multiple Republicans who appeared on Fox News to defend the president. During the Trump era, the network has been ridiculed as “state media” for echoing White House talking points.

His Pyramid of Power is not looking too solid now!
The War Dogs are loose in the House.
The strength in the Senate is waning.
Only 31% like him nation wide.

And they haven't even investigated him rigorously, yet.:D

No wonder Rudy is sweating!

Trump official breaks with the president and defends the whistleblower

As President Donald Trump fights back the groundswell of opposition triggered by the revelation that he has pressured Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, one tactic he has employed is attacking the whistleblower. While much of conduct central to the Ukraine scandal has happened in public, an intelligence community whistleblower complaint — which has been blocked from Congress by the administration — triggered the outcry and greater scrutiny of the series of events.

The new letter written to the whistleblower’s lawyer Andrew Bakaj, however, is careful to note that his client’s rights will be protected while not questioning his or her motives.

“I commend your client’s willingness to come forward to the ICIG, and the DNI is committed to protecting your client form retaliation for that disclosure,” the letter said. “I also want to take this opportunity to state that we have every reason to believe your client — our IC colleague — has acted in good faith and fully complied with the law. Furthermore, we understand that your client has respected the confidential and privileged nature of the information, while awaiting the guidance your letter references.”

These claims could undermine the White House’s attempt to paint the whistleblower — who remains anonymous — as some sort of nefarious actor or partisan agent.

House of Cards, indeed.:D

(It's like Christmas in September, excuse my glee.:))

‘Republicans loathe Donald Trump’: MSNBC’s Morning Joe reveals how president’s support could evaporate under impeachment

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough warned President Donald Trump might not survive impeachment because his support from congressional Republicans is not nearly as strong as it seems.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi launched a formal impeachment inquiry Tuesday, and the “Morning Joe” host described how Trump’s support on Capitol Hill could quickly erode if the process drains his public support any further.

Republicans on the Hill loathe, loathe — I can’t say it enough — they loathe Donald Trump personally,” Scarborough said. “They blame him for the chaos that’s going on in Washington and stopping them from getting more things done.”

:)

Adam Schiff sets sights on William Barr as Trump impeachment inquiry moves forward

House Democrats’ have only just begun their impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, which as of now appears to center on two things: The president’s self-admitted attempt to pressure the Ukrainian government into helping him dig up a conspiracy theory on former Vice President Joe Biden, and his administration’s apparent violation of whistleblower laws to prevent someone in the intelligence community from alerting Congress.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) is wasting no time. In a new letter to Attorney General William Barr, Schiff is demanding a huge trove of documents from the Justice Department, “as part of the House of Representatives’ impeachment inquiry.”

How long can Barr obstruct Justice?

Bill Barr is ‘a central figure’ in the Ukraine scandal and must recuse himself: CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin

On Wednesday, the White House released a rough transcript of President Donald Trump’s call with Ukrainian leaders, not only confirming the president pressured them to dig up dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden, but also revealing that he urged them to get in touch with Attorney General William Barr to help.

CNN chief legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin broke down why this is a huge development — and why it could mean that Barr will face unavoidable pressure to recuse himself from any Ukraine investigation just as his predecessor Jeff Sessions had to recuse himself from Russia.

It may be proven that Barr obstructed Justice as well!:D

Yep, now that Barr has been explicitly named in the telephone transcript, he should (A) immediately recuse himself from the whole business, and (B) be impeached and removed from office. We shouldn't be paying yet another private Trump lawyer who has no problem breaking the law.
