The 124th week of Trump Fuckups!

My personal preference is Warren, at present. She is intelligent, capable, aggressive and scares the shit out of Wall Street!. Harris would make an excellent AG, she is aggressive and knowledgeable, but too tied into the establishment to be my choice for Prez.

Of the score of Democrats running only five, or maybe six stand any chance at all of winning the primary. I expect most of them are running to develop name recognition in hopes that they will get a cabinet position or set up a run in 2028/32.

I'd like to see Mitch and Grassley's tax returns and a deep audit of the sources of their campaign funding.:)

It may not be important to most, but for me, Harris smoking dope knowing it was illegal gives me lots of doubt. I'm not concerned about smoking but for her to admit it in a public forum diminishes her credibility.

Campaign finance need to be reformed and closely regulated.

The debate among media outlets, was a long time, ago.

Everyone involved is still grappling with how to handle the endless torrent of lies.

A recent sampling:

● CNN: “The Mueller report: A catalog of 77 Trump team lies and falsehoods.”

● Minneapolis Star Tribune: “President Trump lies to troops about pay raise.”

● Financial Times: “The real reason Donald Trump lies.”

● Los Angeles Times: “Mueller report exposes all the president’s liars.”

● Chicago Tribune: “Why are Trump’s lies not ruinous to him? Because truth can be in the eye of the beholder.”

● The New Yorker: “It’s True: Trump Is Lying More, and He’s Doing It on Purpose.”

● Foreign Policy: “Does It Matter That Trump Is a Liar?”

House Democrats officially introduce contempt resolution for Barr, McGahn

Finely a little action!

House Democrats have officially introduced a resolution to hold Attorney General William Barr and former White House counsel Don McGahn in contempt of Congress for failing to comply with congressional subpoenas.

The contempt resolution allows Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) to go to court to seek civil enforcement of the subpoena for Barr to turn over special counsel Robert Mueller’s unredacted report and underlying evidence, as well as that for McGahn to provide documents and public testimony.

The resolution also gives any committee chair the rare power to go to federal court to seek civil enforcement of subpoenas, both current and future orders, so long as they are granted approval by the Bipartisan Legal Advisory Board.

The Rules Committee is expected to mark up the resolution to hold Barr and McGahn in contempt on Monday, according to a Democratic congressional aide, and the full House is slated to vote on the resolution Tuesday.

What about Mnuchin? That fucker BROKE the law! Why isn't Ways and Means in on this act. It should be possible for Congress to do two things at once, or is that too hard?

Trump blasts Schumer for saying he's bluffing on tariffs: 'What a creep'

President Trump called Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) "a creep" on Tuesday after the Democratic leader predicted the president would back down from slapping new tariffs on Mexico.

"Can you imagine Cryin’ Chuck Schumer saying out loud, for all to hear, that I am bluffing with respect to putting Tariffs on Mexico. What a Creep," Trump wrote in a tweet.

He asserted that Schumer "would rather have our Country fail with drugs & Immigration than give Republicans a win. But he gave Mexico bad advice, no bluff!"

Trump is correct but for the wrong reason.:)

‘Coward’ Trump slammed by Princeton professor for attacking Mueller on day honoring veterans

After a brief moment when Trump managed to keep it together enough to deliver a speech honoring D-Day, he quickly reverted to form when he attacked former special counsel Robert Mueller as having made a “fool” of himself in the Russia investigation.

Speaking to MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace on “Deadline: White House,” Princeton African-American studies professor Eddie Glaude sharply criticized the president for his non-sequitur attack on Mueller, who is himself a decorated Vietnam veteran.

Muller got a Bronze Star, Trump has brass balls.

Bill Barr Still Hiding Mueller's Counter-Intel Findings From Adam Schiff, So That's Pretty F*cked UP Actually!

House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff talked with Rachel Maddow last night about a series of hearings he has planned on Volume One of the popular melodrama "The Redacted Mueller Report." Schiff said next Wednesday -- livebloggy alert! -- they'll begin with a hearing on Mueller's counter-intel findings, which remain a mystery, as they did not show up in the report. Those are the things that could tell us, for instance, if Donald Trump is truly compromised by Russia, as he seems to be, or if people near him are compromised. (Perhaps people with improperly procured security clearances, HMMMMM?) It also has to do with Russian incursions into our voting systems in 2016, attacks that we still don't know that much about. (Recently we started to learn a lot more about how deep the Russians got into Florida voting systems, and now there is news out about certain problems in North Carolina election servers that might could have Russian dressing all over them. It's like they're following the map of the states Trump won on election night in chronological order!)

In the Mueller Report, it says there were FBI agents embedded in Mueller's team, taking the counter-intel stuff they found and transferring it to the appropriate places in the FBI. And as far as the report is concerned, that's where it ends. And we've been wondering where the fuck it went ever since!

Sorry, our gut says nobody dropped the ball here, least of all Robert Mueller. Is it possible that the FBI might have come under political pressure to hide all the good stuff about how Trump is a literal actual Russian agent under a bushel? Yep, it's possible. Is it also possible that the FBI didn't do that, but now Bill Barr is sitting on it with his voluminous ass, rocking back and forth from cheek to cheek so nobody can get their hands on it? Yep, it's possible.

So cite Barr for Criminal Contempt and get it over with!

Previously ‘spineless’ Republicans poised to turn on Trump now that his unpopular tariffs may cost them their seats

According to a report from the Guardian’s Ross Barkan, Republicans already faced with running for office in 2020 with an unpopular president at the head of the GOP ticket are about to turn on Donald Trump if they sense they may lose their seats in Congress and control of the Oval Office because of his trade war with China and now Mexico.

Calling many GOP lawmakers “spineless” for continually failing to stand up to Trump. Barkan writes in his opinion piece thatthat GOP members were furious after a recent briefing on the president’s still developing tariff plans.

“On Tuesday, Republican senators emerged enraged from a meeting with Trump, unwilling to stomach his threat to level tariffs as high as 25% on Mexican goods in retaliation for migrants crossing the border,” he wrote. “Even Senator Ted Cruz, the former Trump punching-bag (‘Lyin’ Ted’) who has since become a reliable Trump ally, railed against the proposed tariffs, calling them ‘new taxes’ on Texas farmers, manufacturers and small businesses. Otherwise spineless Republican senators are having this change of heart because of an important political reality: tariffs will make goods more expensive in the states they need to capture in 2020.”

‘This is not normal’: Economists point to flurry of warning signs that Trump is driving economy into a recession

Get ready for another Rethuglican Recession!

With President Donald Trump about to embark on yet another trade war — this time with Mexico — economists and financial analysts are surveying the economic landscape and are painting a frightening portrait of a coming recession as soon as 2020.

According to a report at Politico, “Trump is edging to the brink of a two-front trade war in a very different environment than he enjoyed last year, when the GOP tax cut pumped billions of dollars of stimulus into the U.S. economy,” adding, “Analysts now expect economic growth to slow closer to a 2 percent pace this year. And investors, Wall Street analysts and the Federal Reserve are signaling that if Trump doesn’t make quick deals, growth could stall out completely.”

Based on his record of triumphs, he'll... FAIL AGAIN!

House Dem leaders to give chairmen broad power to enforce subpoenas

House Democratic leaders are preparing to grant sweeping authority to committee chairs to sue the Trump administration over its refusal to comply with congressional demands for information — from President Donald Trump's tax returns to former special counsel Robert Mueller’s underlying files.

The draft resolution, which the House will consider on Tuesday, formally holds Attorney General William Barr and former White House counsel Don McGahn in contempt of Congress for defying House Judiciary Committee subpoenas seeking Mueller’s unredacted report, its underlying evidence, and additional witness testimony.

But the most dramatic proposal will empower the chairs of all House committees to initiate legal action each time a witness or administration official defies a committee subpoena, a move to streamline and speed up the House’s ability to respond to a mounting list of confrontations with the White House.

Under the proposal, committee chairs seeking to enforce its subpoenas in federal court would still be required to obtain the approval of a bipartisan — but Democrat-controlled — panel of House leaders that includes Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, Majority Whip Jim Clyburn, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Minority Whip Steve Scalise.

The resolution can also apply to subpoenas that have not yet been issued. Committee leaders will have the authority to enforce those subpoenas without requiring the full House to vote on each one. Democrats emphasize that the reason for the wholesale change is to prevent contempt citations from dominating House's limited floor time.

Trump battered by Chamber of Commerce VP with numbers showing he will kill small businesses with his Mexico tariffs

Appearing on CNN on Friday afternoon, the Executive Vice President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce made an appeal to Donald Trump to back off his plans to slam Mexico with stiff tariffs if they don’t halt what the president perceives as an immigration problem, saying small businesses will be devastated.

Speaking with host Brooke Baldwin, Neil Bradley — who serves as the Chamber’s chief policy officer — said the president’s plan is misguided and that businesses are already reeling.

“So the chamber said that the Trump administration has to — must abandon this policy — you tell me why,” the CNN host asked.

“Well, you were just talking about it — the jobs report this morning, 75,000 jobs, well below what we all anticipated, what we’d like to see,” he replied. “The imposition of these tariffs is already dampening the economy and if we went forward and he [Trump] implements the tariffs it would be devastating to the economy.”

Who has the most lobbyists, Trumpski or the Chamber of Commerce? Who has the greatest influence on the Senate?

Mu hahahaha!:D

Maxine Waters praised for correctly predicting when Trump would cave on his trade war with Mexico

On Friday, Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) called President Donald Trump’s bluff on Mexico tariffs.

Trump said he would impose tariffs by Monday, June 10th, but backed off on Friday. Waters did not seem surprised.

“Spineless GOP Senators grew a backbone this week & finally stood up to their Dictator Trump on something: Mexico tariffs, also known as a TAX INCREASE on American consumers. Bet your bottom dollar; Trump will back off by the weekend. Just another bluff!” she tweeted.

:D

Here is Trump’s ‘simple recipe’ for always claiming victory after disasters like his aborted trade war with Mexico

On Friday, CIA intelligence officer Ned Price ripped President Donald Trump over his “simple recipe” to solve the crisis with Mexico.

Trump threatened to impose tariffs on Mexico if they did not decrease the flood of immigration into the U.S. — despite several of his aides warning him not to.

Trump announced an agreement with Mexico on Twitter, in which he said that the tariffs would be suspended.

Oil tanker sabotage likely the work of 'state actor,' investigation concludes

The sabotage of four oil tankers in the Middle East was so sophisticated that it was likely the work of a government rather than a terrorist or militant group, an investigation concluded Thursday.

The four ships flagged to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Norway were damaged within the space of an hour on May 12 while anchored in the Gulf of Oman.

Those three countries gave a statement on their investigation to the United Nations Security Council on Thursday. They said the sabotage was likely carried out by several teams of operatives who deployed experienced divers armed with limpet mines, which are are magnetic explosives usually attached to a ship's hull.

Frogmen! It must have been Frogmen! and limpit mines, a technique employed by the Italians in WW2. Is this the tail wagging the dog? I deception by un-named actors to "Gulf of Persia Incident" the US?!!?

"We believe that the responsibility for this action lies on the shoulders of Iran," Abdallah Y. Al-Mouallimi said, according to Reuters. "We have no hesitation in making this statement."

This echoes previous allegations by national security adviser John Bolton, who said he believes it was the work of "naval mines almost certainly from Iran."

Knowing the Middle Eastern tendency for guile, Who knows?

Also too it is not beyond imagining a Clandestine Industries Action to allow use of the airbases we have developed at great cost. The Bills for this, well the bills just come due!
