Steven Hawkings went on a weightless ride in Florida.

Obama got the embarrassment Nobel Peace Prize and acted like he deserved it.

Henry Gibson died of old age.

The Iranians told everyone to go fuck themselves.

Obama "Saved" the American economy by bailing out his banker friends, leaving us to pick up the tab for the next 50 years.

MySpace died but Twitter took it's place.

So, what would you add to the list??

Facebook killed Myspace earlier than that.

Michael Jackson kicked the bucket.

The EU wanted to become more like the US, but became more like China.

NASA bombed the moon.

Paranoid delusions became the new black.

Global Warming was exposed as a fraud and conspiracy by academics and government and lawyers to hose taxpayers around the globe.

Obama bought the war in Afghanistan from Dubya. Used TARF money to buy it.

A new poll sez almost 1/2 of America wants Dubya back. These people vote, we're fucked.

The government revealed that 1/2 of the GM-Chrysler bailout money, 30 Billion Dollars, is lost forever.

O rly?

Weird. He said in his acceptance speech that there were many more people that were more deserving.

I think you're projecting what you want to see instead of what actually is, Jenny.

Cloudy, the man was nominated within a week of taking office. What had he done? Run a welfare program in East Chicago?

That has zip to do with what I said. Please read it again.

I read what you said, Cloudy. Now tell me what the man has done to deserve a Noble Prize ahead of 100 others who have worked for peace for years?

Did she say that he deserve it?

She said that he said he didn't deserve it. Which he said.

You're barking up the wrong tree.

Like I said, paranoid delusions became the new black.

No. She said in his acceptance speech he said there were "people more deserving" than him. Not that he didn't deserve it.

I'm still trying to figure out why they gave it to him other than to embarrass themselves and him.

Well, since it's supposed to go to the most deserving, he can't think it's him. No idea when I saw it, but I clealy rmember him saying "I do not feel like I deserve this". Probably when the news broke

I'm still trying to figure out why they gave it to him other than to embarrass themselves and him.
They did it to put pressure on him. "You're heading in the right direction, but you have long ways to go. Don't make us look bad."

I figure if you don't feel you deserve an award then refuse it. Just makes sense to me. Oscar and Emmy people do it all the time. I think a bigger person would say,' No thank you, give it to someone more deserving.'

Would even bring him more respect I would think.

Just an opinion.

I agree. Lee Marvin did that. I never cared for him before the incident. After that I took another look and found him quite wonderful. I believe it would have taken a truly great person to say NO and would have improved his standing throughout the world. But there's the $100,000 that comes with the prize...

The single-most lucid and readable explanation of the science I've ever stumbled upon. If you read nothing else, read this:

James A. Peden - better known as Jim or "Dad" - Webmaster of Middlebury Networks and Editor of the Middlebury Community Network, spent some of his earlier years as an Atmospheric Physicist at the Space Research and Coordination Center in Pittsburgh and Extranuclear Laboratories in Blawnox, Pennsylvania, studying ion-molecule reactions in the upper atmosphere. As a student, he was elected to both the National Physics Honor Society and the National Mathematics Honor Fraternity, and was President of the Student Section of the American Institute of Physics. He was a founding member of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry, and a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. His thesis on charge transfer reactions in the upper atmosphere was co-published in part in the prestigious Journal of Chemical Physics. The results obtained by himself and his colleagues at the University of Pittsburgh remain today as the gold standard in the AstroChemistry Database. He was a co-developer of the Modulated Beam Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer, declared one of the "100 Most Significant Technical Developments of the Year" and displayed at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.

I wasn't a big JFK fan but he did say, "Don't think of what you're contry can do for you, but what can you do for your country." I respected that.

Now it's all about me. 'I want my share of the wealth.' "I deserve more. If I don't have it then get it from someone else and give it to me." "Don't ask what I can do for my self; ask what others can do for me.'

"If you don't give to others you're a bastard. We'll take it from you and give it to whomever we choose."

"We're getting you medical insurance. You might have to pay for it but we don't know how much yet? Not sure what coverage you'll have either. It will be mandatory that you'll have insurance or pay a penalty for not accepting ours. Of course that is only if you work, otherwise we'll have someone else pay for it for you."

We've had two wonderful pregnancies announced (yeah Mag and Mac)

We've had a debate ( again) on how the room should be decorated.

Many new people have joined our midst and some old friends have returned.

Some have faced dire circumstances with health and some with money, but there is always the people here to get support from.

And we are all alive and here to wish each other well on another year past and hopes of better things yet to come for the next.

Merry Christmas everyone Ho Ho Ho

It's been a very tough year, as have the years behind it, and i exect the years ahead to be tough as well. Still, i have found some happiness and satisfaction in places, that have allowed me to ride over the rough spots in other areas.

Snakes Would Be Banned Under U.S. Senate Measure
By Mark Drajem

Dec. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Burmese pythons, anacondas and boa constrictors are among nine types of snakes that would be banned as imports under a measure backed by U.S. lawmakers, who said escaped or abandoned pets are overrunning Florida’s Everglades.

“As stewards of our country’s vast public lands and natural resources we have to deal with the threats posed by invasive species,” Senator Bill Nelson, a Florida Democrat and the measure’s sponsor, said in a statement.

The bill, approved by voice vote today by the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, now goes to the full Senate. The Obama administration supports the legislation and is trying to deal with Burmese pythons that are threatening endangered species and harming the ecosystem in the Everglades, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar wrote in a letter to Nelson on Dec. 7.

The green anaconda has been found in the Big Cypress National Preserve in South Florida. Many lawmakers didn’t take note of the dangers posed by the snakes until a pet python killed a two-year-old Florida girl in her crib last summer, Nelson said.

People continued to spend more energy on complaining about the things they thought they might disagree with than on actually fixing things on even a small level.

I wish all of you success in your efforts to improve your own corner of the world. I wish you a smile from a child, a contented sigh as you put down an empty glass and a warm and welcoming home.

Won't you wish me money, as well? Because I'm going to need some to help my health be what you've wished for it, so that I can maintain my family, and if any is left over, to celebrate my friends.

because that's the only way it works in this American society.

Sure if you want wealth, I wish you that also. I hope all your needs are met.
Hope you have a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays if you prefer, and a prosperous New Year.:rose:

By the way, I'm not being sarcastic. I truly hope your needs are met.
